Additional Location Information
Fields of soft lavender, rolling hills, deep gorges this region is France at its finest: spectacular countryside of vineyards and orchards; fascinating 'perched' hill-top villages; outstanding natural produce; and the light of Van Gogh and Cezanne. Pont Royal's origins date from the XIII century. The centre of the village complex in Pont Royal is a short stroll from the villa and has been beautifully designed around a church, in the style of an old Provencal village. The beautiful golf course was designed by Seve Ballesteros and has spectacular views of the Luberon - considered to be one of the top ten courses in France. The villa offers a perfect base to tour the region at any time of the year - avoid the peak time crowds and visit out of season to enjoy the peace and quiet of this beautiful area.

Stamford lincolnshireA most relaxing and enjoyable stay in perfect surroundings and a
Left on 06/26/2012 for a stay in June 2012
On the 3rd June 2012 we escaped the rain in the UK and returned to the idyllic surroundings of Pont Royale in Provence.
It was so relaxing to be amongst the beautiful countryside and feel the warmth of the sun. We immediately felt at home entering the bright, clean and airy villa. Being somewhat 'picky' in my choice of accommodation, it was lovely to see the villa maintains its high standards of cleanliness and amenities. It is so tastefully decorated with a real feel of 'Provence'.
There have been additions to the extremely helpful location guide giving great inspiration for places to visit. On such recommendation we took our two children aged 12 and 10 yrs to St Remy to the Van Gogh museum which we all loved. Its quiet serenity really helped us picture Van Gogh at work and understand a little more of him as a man. Dvds of 'Dr Who' at the villa with the episode on Van Gogh was a must before we visited and the children came away really inspired!
Our children are older now and so didn't need the fantastic collection of good condition- mostly new-children's toys provided at the villa, but there was still plenty for them to do- they loved the new play area in the village and we spent a day at the pools and waterslides- great fun! The local pools specifically for the villa remain well maintained and we had them mostly to ourselves!
We enjoyed eating in, enjoying watching the sun go down- and the moon rise over the mountains whilst eating on the terrace. The local market at the Pont Royal village and neighbouring surpermarches and village shops provided excellent local produce and the array of cookery books at the villa inspired us to try and eat 'french'!
Thank you for such a lovely week- just what we needed - with all you provide to make the stay so comfortable, we felt so relaxed and didn't want to leave! We will return soon !

Thank you so much for your lovely comments - we are glad you have returned and enjoyed all the extra things that Pont Royal has to offer as well as still feeling at home in the villa. As for the Dr. Who episode with Van Gogh - it makes me emotional every time and to be able to pop down the road and visit his inspiration is wonderful - we are so glad your children enjoyed the experience too. Come again!!

DenverGood base from which to explore nearby Provence
Left on 07/07/2011 for a stay in June 2011
The townhouse is bright and clean and was comfortable for the four of us adults. It is central to the areas of Provence in which we desired to travel and explore. It is a golf resort and is thus an island in the area. The home is at the far end of the property. One must have a car. The house is relatively well supplied with cooking materials, if one is creative. There are no screens on the windows thus one has the choice of being warm or having bugs. There may have been aC but could not find directions. The manager never made an appearance-neither to greet us (we arrived quite late), nor the next morning to check on us, nor to check us out. The patio is very nice and comfortable and relatively private. The flowers and lavender were great. Overall, this home met our needs, provided comfortable sleeping and bathing arrangements, and served as a base from which we could explore the wonderful areas nearby.

Thank you for your comments - I will make sure that the instructions and remote control for the air conditioning are placed in a more prominent position in future! We are prevented from putting screens on the windows by the rules of the Domaine which ensure that all properties are maintained in a similar way to ensure the pretty Provencal look throughout the estate. Our house manager is on call for our guests 24 hours a day and always leaves comprehensive contact information should you require help with anything. We are also planning to add an "island" to the kitchen area which will provide more working space and also additional storage. I am glad you enjoyed your holiday and were able to explore this beautiful region.

Bromley, KentFantastic holiday, beautiful surroundings, home from home!
Left on 04/04/2011 for a stay in July 2009
We stayed in Pont Royal for a week with our 5 year old son. Debby had gone to great efforts to ensure that each member of our family was made comfortable, from the welcoming touches to the Duplo and dvd's for the kids. We happily spent a few days away from Pont Royal visiting local towns and attractions but in the main we were more than happy popping to the local supermarket for our provisions or going to the bakers for the essential chocolate croissant in the morning!
Pont Royal is a great location in beautiful surroundings and days spent by the pool in the glorious sunshine is more than enough for us.
The village comes alive at the end of the day and there is a weekly market with some fantastic gifts, jewellery and clothing stalls. My husband particularly enjoyed a cold beer from the bar by the lake at the end of a hard day by the pool!
We will all remember our stay for very different reasons but mostly that the house is welcoming, well situated, spotlessly clean and has everything you could ask for. We hope to return to Pont Royal in the very near future.Response from Debby McMorran - 04/05/2011

Stayed with family in this modern all mod cons home however it still has plenty of character and Proven?al charm. The owners have made this into a home rather than a rental property with many nice personal touches. We were very tempted to look to invest in this wonderful relaxing yet plenty to do complex and also fell in love with the beautiful location.
