Eastern Shore, MarylandA must-stay! Private quarters in a lovely home.

Great location in North Boulder - terrific & easy hiking right outside the back door. We stayed 4 nights and Nancy and John were so gracious and accommodating; friendly but discreet, in that we had complete privacy. The quarters were clean and had nice little touches like fresh flowers and makeup removing towelettes. The shower temp and pressure was fantastic. Nancy makes the best homemade granola I've ever had. We'll definitely stay there again.

I stayed here during the month of November for 14 nights. It was a wonderful spot for a long term stay and very convenient for getting around in Boulder. John and Nancy were wonderful hosts, the breakfasts were delicious, healthy and organic and the home was in a picturesque setting. Great for a short or long term stay!

Basically, this rental is a basement lockoff in a really great home owned by a lovely couple. Both Nancy and John are extremely accomodating. They made hot coffee in the morning and had an assortment of fruit, granola, cereal, bread, and yogurt from which I could choose. They also cleared small areas in the fridge and kitchen for me to store my food. I really enjoyed the north Boulder location, especially because I like it a little quieter than the downtown or hill area. There are trails right out the back fence. The rental worked perfectly for me while I was in Boulder for a yoga immersion. As an added bonus, I am grateful for getting to know Nancy and John a little bit while I was in Boulder.

Very eco conscious, friendly hosts. If you prefer a hot breakfast, this is not the place. Outside shoes not permitted in the house. Need to navigate stairs to the bedroom which is below street level.
Response from Nancy Clarke - 06/15/2012
Owner
Yes, we are eco-friendly.
No hot breakfast is provided but we do offer a generous breakfast spread, including yogurt, granola, fresh fruit daily, muffins, toast, coffee or tea. We make very clear ahead of time what our breakfast offerings are so those who want something different will know to seek another location.
It is true that no shoes are allowed in the house. Most of our guests happily adapt to this simple request.
While the guest room is on the patio level of our house (extra cool in summer) that level has a huge amount of light in the family room adjacent to the guest room area and a lovely outdoor patio for the exclusive use of our guests. The prior review mentions street level but our home is not really close to a street so that is a bit confusing. In fact, our home backs up to Boulder County open space--making it one of the nicest locations in all of Boulder.
Because we are up off the street on a shared drive those without GPS or access to Google maps might find it a little hard to locate us on arrival. However, we always offer to "talk you in" that first time. Ultimately our guests find that our lovely location is worth the bit of extra effort to discover us. -

A quiet, relaxing place to stay in north Boulder. Hosts were very friendly, flexible and accommodating and helped make my stay in Boulder easy. House was relatively close to bus that takes you into downtown Boulder. Located minutes away from hiking trails. I highly recommend staying at this property (esp. to solo travelers) and would stay there again in the future.

We stayed with John and Nancy for our Spring Break with our pre-teen daughters. We would recommend this to friends. Can't beat the location - a short bus ride or drive to Boulder and right below the foothills. Our hosts were generous and offered tips on hiking locations and restaurants.

We just moved our son to Boulder to attend the university and stayed for a week with John and Nancy. It was fantastic!! Boulder was beautiful and the stay with John and Nancy far exceeded our expectations. They advised us on everything we wanted to see and do and even gave us maps to the areas we visited. The room was very comfortable and the garden was beautiful. We had great breakfasts and took advantage of swimming and playing tennis down the street. We will definitely be back and highly recommend staying with them if you are going to Boulder.

Montreal, CanadaA wonderful stay in Boulder!
Left on 11/01/2010 for a stay in October 2010
My partner Dan and I visited Boulder for a week as we are considering relocating to the town, and our stay with Nancy and John couldn't have been better. They are a very welcoming couple and made us feel like we were right at home. They had great knowledge about the city - whether looking for activities to do, restaurants to eat at or inside tips about the town - which definitely assisted us in getting out and experiencing all that the town has to offer. Their place is a out of the 'downtown' area which is great as it's quiet and very spacious, but still only a few minutes into the centre of town. We had our own space and could come and go as we pleased, but they were always there to help out if we needed it. The house was always clean and the breakfasts were great - we would highly recommend Nancy's place!

We had a great time with John and Nancy - they set us up well and gave generously of their knowledge of the area. And if you get there at the right time, John is becoming a wicked pie maker!
The location is terrific as well - reasonable access to downtown without being in the midst of it all and backing up on Open Space lands in highly bikable Boulder.
Make sure to visit Mountain Sun brew pub downtown if you're
into craft beer. -

Once we arrived at this Wonderland Lake home, we parked our van and never needed it again. We went everywhere on bikes, helped by the expert maps and guidance from our hosts. The home is lovely and in a quiet neighborhood. Indoor-outdoor living is possible with the excellent weather and tasteful garden options for dining. We would recommend this home unequivocally!
