I was very fortunate by being recommended to drop in and stay at Claire allens place at Snug harbor on Bowen Island during my recent visit to Canada. By being situated just a short ferry ride from Vancouver, Snug Harbor was the perfect place to both get over the long flight from australia and base myself for my trip around BC. Everything was set up for my arrival and the house and surrounds were beautiful. The large house is situated just a short walk from the ferry terminal and close to shops and restaurants. It was easy both getting around Bowen Island as well as heading into Vancouver or over to Vancouver Island for the day.
I especially liked the well appointed comfortable house and access to hiking trails and nearby quaint village. Picture perfect postcard Canada. -

A great, comfortable 3 bedroom home. All the emenities of home. Complete with laundry and 2 large bathrooms. Very quiet area but still close to town. If the weather would have been better, we could have walked to town.
I didn't like going out of the driveway as it is on a corner, but you can turn around in the driveway and exit the right way out at least. Beautiful stream in the front with a small waterfall. Barbeque and large patio to relax on with the sound of the waterfall! -

We were met off the Bowen Island ferry by Claire, the proprietor, despite our arriving late on a wet winter's night. The house was warm, spacious, and very well equipped and furnished. We had a wonderfully relaxed and comfortable stay in picturesque surroundings

Large, beautiful home in a forested private area. Only the sound of the nearby creek can be heard from both the main floor patio or the private one off the master bedroom. Located nearby forested walking paths either to the ferries or to a lake. The kitchen is on the small side but is fully equipped and accommodated 7 of us cooking during the whole weekend. The rooms and bathrooms are very spacious and clean. Claire was a lovely hostess and we would definitely recommend this place to our friends.

Great, spacious accommodation. Set up with everything you would need. Conveniently located near the ferry and easy access to trails and the lake. Spent a long weekend here with a small group of friends. Had a relaxing time playing games, hiking, biking, swimming and eating delicous meals. Great place to stay to get away from the city.

I found a gem! It was like staying in a corner of heaven for a week. Waking up to the sound of the rapids from the stream below, feeling encapsulated by the canopy of trees above, nestled in-between in a perfect combination of modern yet rustic comfort. We felt surrounded by nature, inside as well as out. The added touch of found treasures from the Island or maybe elsewhere, small groupings of pictures on the wall that aroused curiosity displayed in out of the way places just waiting to be discovered or noticed. Rustic hard wood and ceramic floors, tall draped windows everywhere and so much more. It all added up to making the house immediately... feel like a home filled with love.
The fish ladder outside your door, the nearby beaches and trails, touring the Island... was all more than we had expected and was so appreciated and so enjoyed. Those memories will stay with us for a lifetime. Thank you Claire for a wonderful vacation.
