Lodge was sited among the fir trees takes a bit of finding first time round until you get used to the site layout,a site layout map would be handy and save time.
The Lodge itself was excellent - very nice warm and cosy beds - very modern kitchen and dinning area also if the weather is fine you could have your meals on the balcony or sit out in the sun.
Overall couldn't fault the Lodge and will be going again in the near future Read more

The lodge was wonderful. Very clean and comfortable with plenty of space for our family of 4. It was great to be so close to the lake and the grounds were lovely. There is a bar and good quality restaurant behind reception and a great swimming pool that the kids loved. You can also order meals in the bar or takeaways. The location was fantastic too. A very short walk to Brockhole, the Lakes information centre, where we hired kayaks, went on the Tree Top Trek and went on a Lake cruise. Also has an adventure playground and a lovely cafe. Perfect spot for a glass of wine in the late afternoon sun. Very close to ambleside, Bowness and Windermere, bit too far to walk to though. Ambleside is very pretty. We drove there and also walked to Brockhole to catch a boat to ambleside when we didn't feel like driving.
Parking is a bit of a problem in the lakes and the car park fees can be expensive. Make sure you take plenty of change with you!
Overall, we had a fantastic holiday here, we would have liked to have stayed another week! Had everything we needed and more. Would highly recommend the Lodge and would definitely go back. Thank you Read more

Nice and modern. Clean and tidy. Comes with free wifi across the site but it is too slow to stream video.
I don't know why, but I would have thought there would be some sort of view from the cabin. It is in an enclosed sort of area surrounded by trees and other cabins. Club house was good but on the Saturday that we arrived they had a singer on and the volume was unbelievable. It drifted across the site for miles - mental!! Overall it was a good holiday and the cabin was nice.

This was a different holiday which my girlfriend and I went on and to be honest I wish I never left the place. The lodge was very clean and had everything we wanted. The on-site shop and restaurant came in handy. Even though the site is near a busy road once we enter the site it seems the noise of the road disappeared which I found surprising. The site is in the prefect location as most of the place we wanted to visit were only 30-45 minutes away. I would recommend visiting the zoo if you go in school term time as you can see all the animals without having to dodge groups of people.
I would not recommend going to India Ocean in Windermere as I had food poisoning the second to last night.
I would recommend anyone to going to skiptory lodge at white cross bay as it was one of the most relaxing holiday we had.

An amazing place to stay if visiting the Lakes. we visited in November, and so 'out of season'. It was quiet, easy to travel around and the resort was peaceful. It may not be so at peak season. The lodge itslef was wonderful and catered to our needs of a romantic winter getaway with adventurous walks around the lakes perfectly.

lovely lodge in very nice surroundings. Easy access to all main routs in lake district. Only problem we had was that you had to go in to windermere centre to pick up keys and parking near centre is almost impossible. you then have to return the keys on leaving.why could they not be handed in to reception on site and collected there as well? Also the number on the key said 45 but number of cottage was 26 which even with instructions made it difficult to find on site.

Accommodation was excellent, spotless clean, had every mod con, and the park its self had lots of facilities.
The only problem we had was with picking up the keys from Cottage Holidays as we arrived late on the evening, the keys were supposed to be left outside the office in a collection box, which they were there. So it took about an hour to sort out.
But other than this we would defiantly go back to this lodge
