* Gorgeous, top-end home built to honor the historic National Park lodges.
* On three very private acres with a trout pond in front and a creek in the back.
* End of the road location, adjoining National Forest land and the Middle Cottonwood Creek trailhead.
* Super location tucked against the Bridger Mountains, but just a short trip to Bozeman.
Brief Description: Adirondack family retreat? National park lodge? Both of these came to mind the first time we visited Saddle Mountain Lodge. The term is “parkitecture”, meaning it’s built after one of the great hotels in the national parks; in this case Old Faithful Inn.... It has that comfortable, settled-in feeling of a place that’s been there forever, when in fact it’s a brand new home with top of the line amenities.
Bedrooms and baths: The home has three bedrooms and four and half baths with 2 extra sleeping areas. The master bedroom, with a king size bed, has double glass doors out to the yard and a beautiful private bath with a claw foot tub, glass shower and double marble vanity. Two upstairs bedrooms each have a queen size bed and private balconies. These bedrooms share a full bath with a glass and tile shower. The fourth sleeping area is on the lower level off the family room. It has a queen size bed and an attached bath with an oversized soaking tub and a lovely custom vanity, built from an antique china hutch. The fifth sleeping area is in the guest suite over the garage. It also has a queen size bed, a private balcony looking out to the forest and a full bath. All bathrooms have rain showers. A half bath is located off the livingroom. There are TV's in the master suite, one upstairs bedroom, and the guest suite.
Kitchen: We love this kitchen! It’s a cook’s delight with built-in oven and microwave, 4-burner Viking cook top, oversized stainless Jenn-Air refrigerator, Carrara marble countertops and a ceramic farm sink.
Dining area: The dining area has a table for six with extra seating at the island counter. There’s a table for six and a gas barbecue grill on the patio. The guest suite has a table that seats four.
Living room: With a massive fireplace reminiscent of the famous one at Yellowstone’s Old Faithful Inn, it’s really a great room. With a leather couch, cozy overstuffed chairs and moose antlers on the wall, it has a wonderful lodge feel. Four glass doors lead to the deck and the woodsy back yard. The great room has a full sound system and there’s also wireless Internet throughout the home.
Family: The large family room on the lower level has super comfy seating, a built in bar/sink/refrigerator, a 55” Sharp flat screen HD TV with VCR, Blue Ray player and full theater surround sound.
Guest apartment: The fifth sleeping area is an over the garage suite with its own living room, kitchen, surround sound system, bathroom and washer & dryer.
Setting and acreage: The lodge is tucked against the slope of the Bridger Mountains, in a private spot not far from Bozeman. On three woodsy acres with huge spruce trees for shade, a trout pond in front and rushing stream in back. A short walk puts you on Middle Cottonwood Trail, connecting to the whole Bridger Mountain trail system.
Outdoor Amenities: Screened back deck, pond, stream, gas barbecue, an in-ground trampoline, firepit and stone patio, hammock and a play gym for the kids.
Activities nearby: Besides hiking right from the house, you’re about a half an hours drive to Bridger Bowl and Bohart Ranch ski areas. There’s fishing on the East Gallatin and main Gallatin Rivers, horseback riding, rafting, tours of Yellowstone Park and the fun town of Bozeman. It’s a beautiful two hour drive to Yellowstone.
Closest town and airport: It’s 8 miles from Bozeman’s Main Street and Gallatin Field Airport.
Additional amenities include: on 1-5 acres, less than 15 minutes to town, no garage access, 2 hours to yellowstone park, pond on property, on a creek, no air conditioning, washer & dryer, ironing board.Read more

We loved this home! We ended up hanging out here at home more than we were planning on, because it was so much fun! We loved fishing in the pond out front, the kids loved playing out back on the trampoline and play set, I loved cozying up on the screened porch with a good book and there was so much space for all of us! It was quiet and not too far away from everything we needed in Bozeman. We would definitely stay here again without a doubt.

We recently stayed at Saddle Mountain Lodge with our family to celebrate a MSU graduation, a family reunion, as well as an 88th birthday! This home was the perfect place. It is amazing inside and out, beautifully appointed and equipped with just about anything you could need. This home is a serene get away, I only wish we had had more time there. I hope someday we can return for a longer stay.

We decided to come see the snow for my dad's birthday. Luckily there was snow on the ground, but none from the sky. The snow and town were beautiful nonetheless and we had a fantastic time at the Saddle Mountain Lodge. After searching other rental home sites, I saw the picture of the front of the house and pond and thought it looked like a postcard. As I looked through all of the pictures of the house, it immediately became my number one pick. We even had a fun time at Bingo with allison from Mountain Home, who personally delivered kindling to us during our stay. It was nice to be out of town next to the mountain, but yet still close enough to be in Downton Bozeman in 15 minutes and to the airport in 10 minutes. We are already planning on coming back to experience the lodge and Bozeman in the summertime.
Perfect space for a family get-together

This house is the perfect space for a family reunion. It seems at first like a small house, but it is deceptively large, or maybe it's the way all the bedrooms are spaced so that adult children (and significant others) are not all tripping over each other when solitude is needed. It is a perfect space for together and apart time, with a great porch for reading or outside lunch/dinner, a well-appointed kitchen, great bathrooms and the beds were top notch. A great hike is right up the road, and best of all, they accepted our dogs who enjoyed themselves enormously, too! The mother-in-law apartment is a convenient bonus, with its own washer/dryer, kitchen and bathroom. We had lots of family dinners, used the gas grill for cooking, and found everything we needed at the house. Only drawback: the road is used by day-hikers to get to the canyon at the end of the draw. It can be a little busy during the day, but by nightfall you have the place to yourself.

We loved the home Had everything we needed Lots of artwork and antiques from the owners. We spent most of our time on the screened porch or on the front porch watching the birds and the fish pond. Our daughter was getting married so we were busy with those activities. We did go whitewater rafting on the Gallatin which was so much fun with the other 60 wedding participants. The home was convenient to the airport and downtown. we did hike the Cottonwood trail at the end of our road into the National Forest and also a trail on Sypes Canyon.Everyone at Mountain Home was very helpful as far as communication and descriptions of the home - Loved it all

Despite the nine inches of snow that fell on Easter weekend, we were able to shovel enough to enjoy the wonderful outside living space. The creek runs behind the house, there is a pond, a firepit, a hammock, a screened porch, etc. A hiking trail is right out the door. But Bozeman is just a few minutes away.
The house had private living spaces which was very nice for four couples. We fought over who got the apartment. It was that nice. One bedroom contained a double bed, even though it was advertised as a queen.
The kitchen was well stocked and had basic food in the pantry and in the freezer which was really nice. We did have a problem finding the internet connection which had been moved to the garage, but we called Mountain Home and they figured it out. Also, the tv in the dining room was not working. Minor inconveniences.
We had a great weekend!
