The other reviews don't lie. Bob greeted us upon arrival. The unit was immaculate. Unit was stocked with anything that you could need and more including beach chairs, spices, and even a banana holder. It is a perfect on-the-beach location. The water is beautiful. The unit is close to the grocery store and many restaurants. We even drove the short trip to St. Armand's Circle. Bob even made our 11 lb yorkie-pom mix feel welcome at Shell Cove. We couldn't be more pleased with our experience, and we certainly plan on visiting again!

My husband and I just recently spent a week at the Shell Cove #1 celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. We absolutely loved everthing about it and would definitely go back.
Bob was very attentive to our needs and made sure that everything was perfect for our stay.
The thing that we loved the most was being able to walk out the front door and be on the beach..watched the sunset every night. -

My husband and I just returned from a wonderful return visit to anna Maria Island and Shell Cove Unit # 1. The condo is steps from the Gulf of Mexico. The condo complex is small and quiet. Unit #1 is on the ground floor and is very well provisioned. The owner is on-site and responds very quickly to any concerns.
Many very good restaurants are in the area-- We recommend Sign of the Mermaid, The Waterfront, BeachHouse (good food and attentive service but somewhat noisy) and MarVista on Longboat Key- sister restaurant to BeachHouse but smaller and quieter.
Sights- Would highly recommend Flight of Fantasy- Exit 44 off I-4 - many vintage air craft with restoration workshop, and aerial demonstrations daily. -

Recently my wife and I spent Spring Break at Shell Cove Unit #1. Upon arrival we were very happy with the location. Just as discribed! Beautiful beach view, with-in walking distance to many great places to eat, shop, or just walk and check the area out. Our neighbors were all very friendly and great to chap with and shortly after we got settled in Bob stopped in to make sure everything was to our liking. He made it clear that if we should happen to need anything we could give him a call. Mind you there were a few cool days but being from Ohio it was easy to make the best of it. We also like to cook some of our meals at our unit and this place was well equiped with everything we needed. All in all we had a wonderful stay and will not hesitate staying here again. Thanks Bob and Odette for helping to make our vacation one to remember. Will be in touch as soon as we are sure of next years dates.

This unit is small but contains everything you need for a two week vacation.
Two steps and you are on the beach. We had breakfast on the beach every morning and Gin & Tonics on the beach every night.
This was our second year here (see previous review). The unit is located close to trolley stops North & South. There are good restaurants within easy walking distance and Publix is a short drive away.
The kitchen area has most utensils should you desire to eat or cook in. There isn't a grill.
The unit has a dedicated parking space so there are no worries about that even in peak season.

Waterfront
Sandbar
Sign of the Mermaid
Starfish Restaurant
Rod & Reel
Great beach walking along the 7 miles of white powder sand straight from the door of the unit.

This unit is in a convenient central location and forms a great base for exploring paradise island. -

As always our trip was excellent even through the few days of cooler weather and one rain day. It gave us time to relax with a couple of movies, rest, shop, eat, and explore different places on the island. The days that we spent on the beach with the weather being great we tanned, walk, grilled out, and relaxed. Our little one meaning Shadow our 8lb. Pom loves Shell Cove he always meets a new friend each time we go. He loves relaxing in the sun with us. What a trooper he is. We even got to travel to Fort De Soto to explore the fort there. Bob and Odette are wonderful people they make everything perfect for our stay, very friendly and the most importantly they make you feel you are part of the family at Shell Cove.
We will always go back to Shell Cove every year we love it more than words can express.
Thank you again Bob and Odetta from the bottom of our hearts. We love ya.

We just spent another two wonderful weeks in this beautiful well organized condo. We opened our back door and enjoyed the well maintained beach. In the afternoon we relaxed soaking up the warmth of the sun and in the evening my husband and grandson enjoyed fishing there. Everything we could possibly need or want was at our disposal in this unit. At night I opened our windows and listened to the ocean and felt the off shore breeze. I wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you Bob for your hospitality and willingness to make our stay so enjoyable. You do an excellent job keeping this condo so clean and up to date!

Bob was the most gracious and accommodating host. We were
pleasantly surprised with all the supplies he furnished.
All we needed down the street at Publix was our food! Bob
also made sure that the place was immaculate before we checked in. The location was convenient, with the water
right out back and the free trolley out front every 20 minutes. Those considering this rental (one or two)need to keep in mind that it is like a studio apartment, without a bedroom, so it felt a little small to us. -

We spent 6 blissfully happy days at Shell Cove in November which I just can't recommend highly enough.
The condo is small but perfectly formed and extremly comfortable. We found it plenty big enough for the two of us, very well furnished, and with everything clean and in pristine condition.
It is in the perfect location literally right on the beach so that the view from the patio looks over the sand down to the sea. As if that werrn't perfection enough there is a hammock within three steps of the condo which I made full use of every afternoon.
We also made great use of the free buses that run up and down the island. This enabled us to go out for dinner every evening and have a few drinks without any worries. The nearest bus stop is only a three minute walk away so it could not have been more convenient.
It is also possible to walk to a good many restaurants.
Bob was the perfect host. He was there to greet us on the first day, gave us all the information we needed and then told us to contact him if we had any questions/problems etc. He then left us alone to do our own thing. Perfect.
We would unhesitatingly recommend staying here.

My husband and I spent Christmas week at Shell Cove #1. Bob greeted us as soon as we arrived. He took time to explain everything about our condo and activities in the area. We did not rent a car and planned to take the island trolley everywhere we wanted to go. Bob even offered to drive us to the grocery store for our initial shopping trip! Our room was small, but we knew that going in. Our kitchen was well stocked with dishes, cooking utensils and many other things. The trolley was wonderful - and free! We walked all over the island as well. Lots of things to see and great places to eat. We were able to walk to the other side of the island to see the sun rise, then that evening watch the sun set on the beach in front of our condo. It was truly a paradise for us and we can't wait to go back. Amazing trip!

We stayed a week at the Shell Cove #1 Unit(ground level), and it was just perfect for 2 people. Bob & Odette had everything we could of needed and just about anything you forgot to pack. Bob was already waiting for us upon arrival and gave us a quick tour of the place. Great host. Even came to help us one evening, when the DVR wouldn't work and got it up and going. Loved that you could walk out the front door and you were on the beach! Would definetly stay there again.

Good fortune and good people came my way when I opted to rent Shell Cove #1 for a business trip. Bob & Odette treated me like a queen and were attentive to all the details. Shell Cove #1 was a dream to stay in.
Cute, comfortable and fully set up to live your glorious life at the beach. Plans are already underway to return for vacation.

After the tropical storm i was worried the beach would be ruined but to my suprise the beach was in great condition. The condo is just steps from the white sand and located near many resturants and shops. I highly recommend this condo for couples, i know i will be back! Our experience was Wonderful from beginning to the end. Bob, the owner met us at the condo immediately upon our arrival and was extremely friendly making sure we were well acquainted with the residence and shared detailed information on many nearby places to eat (Star Fish). The room was immaculate (absolutely clean, neat, free from blemishes and showing faultless perfection, and judging by it's condition I knew Bob and Odette did this from the heart. They cared about you and your stay with them. It felt like the comfort of your own home than a vacation rental. Bob and Odette had gone as far as to stock the condo. It had everything you could ever possibly need to make the stay comfortable and relaxing: sheets/towels/umbrella/chairs/cooler/full kitchen/laundry supplies/ personal supplies in bath/HD flat screen TV/cable even Dvds. If you needed to pick up a few groceries, Publix was only a short drive away. The location was very important to me due to my love for the beach. It met my expectation and more to be directly on the beach and having such a beautiful view of the Gulf from our room. It also had a private entrance so close to the suite's reserved parking space, and that was another great feature.
Our only disappointment was that we had to leave! (We) Doug, Tamara and shadow absolutely fell in love!
We look forward to returning and extending our stay the next time as this condo met all of our needs for a perfect getaway!! Thank you bob and Odette You are wonderful!!!

What a great find! We booked based on all the great reviews and weren't disappointed. The pictures are very accurate and the unit was so clean and perfect for two! Bob was very helpful and was like having your own concierge. It was the most relaxed visit we've had to aMI in a while. We especially liked being able to sit outside in the breezeway area for breakfast and sometimes lunch. The sun is pretty hot in august and the area was shaded all day. We even set up our beach chairs there one afternoon to enjoy the balmy breeze and listen to the ocean. Can' t wait for our next visit! It's usually booked but thanks to Bob, we were able to finally work out dates for a visit.

Wow! Every word of the previous reviews was true. This condominium was super clean, and you can hear the waves when you're sitting on the porch. Bob came to greet us and provided us with a lot of helpful information. The bed was comfortable, and both the kitchen and bathroom were stocked with everything you could possibly need. We can't wait to go back!

Our experience was fantastic from beginning to end. The owner met us at the condo immediately upon our arrival and was extremely friendly and thorough in making sure we were well acquainted with the residence and many nearby attractions/places to eat. The room was immaculate and judging by it's condition we could have been the first residents to have stayed there. It felt more like a permanent home than a vacation rental as Bob and Odette had gone as far as to stock the condo with even the most minute items to make the stay comfortable and relaxing (including beach equipment and laundry supplies). The view from the condo is amazing and it is very centrally located which makes travel to the surrounding eateries and attractions very easy. We very much enjoyed our time at this condo and plan on returning next year. Thanks so much Bob and Odette for your kindness and for making our trip great! Can't wait to get back!

My husband and I needed a break from our everyday lives! We needed some time to relax, rejuvenate, and have fun. After a lot of research we narrowed our search to anna Maria Island. Bob and Odette's condo seemed to fit most of our needs and wants. From start to finish dealing with Bob was great.
We thought that the location on the island was perfect for us. Just down the street is a Publix and a Walgreens, and about a mile walk down the beach are the restaurants and shops on and around Bridge Street. The beach infront of the condo was the perfect place to spend the day relaxing. We used the beach chairs and umbrella that were included with the condo everyday.
Bob has made sure that the condo has just about everything most people need. The kitchen is well equipped for vacation cooking and better equipped than several other condos we have rented in the past. The condo looks exactly like the photos and it was ultra clean!
I am an ultra light sleeper so the only cons I can think of have to do with noise. This condo is next to the main gate to the condo complex so you can hear the gate latch every time someone goes through the gate. It isn't loud but you can hear it. As the week went on I did get use to the sound. Since this is on the main road there is road noise but again it wasn't very loud. My husband who sleeps like the dead said that he didn't hear anything.
We loved our getaway from everyday life and can't say enough good things about our stay! -

I can't say a bad thing about the whole experience. Bob the owner was most accommodating. The condo was clean and spotless when we arrived and had everything we needed. The beach being at our back door, we would take walks every morning. My wife and I did not want to leave.
The whole island and surrounding area was wonderful.

Stayed at Shell Cove # 1, May 12th - 19th & I loved it ! Bob, the owner, as other reviewers have mentioned, is the nicest person & so helpful.He & his wife live in the small condo complex, so if you have a problem or a question, he is there to help you.He provides, several beach chairs,beach umbrella & sand anchor,beach towels & a cooler.Plus the unit has an ice maker, so all these things save you money. I've stayed at places where I had to buy alot of these items & leave them behind, when I flew home, so that's one of the reasons I chose this place.
The studio was so warm & inviting, with the soothing colors & very comfortable bed & leather chair.I slept so good every night.I had the large window out the back of the unit for my view of the gulf. It was beautiful, with a nice covered patio, with table & chairs, so wonderful to have breakfast or lunch, out there, or take a break from the sun,& a great place to watch the sunset.The view included sea oats, sea grapes & trees, not just sand & water.I saw dolphins swimming off shore & a large variety of birds scouring the waters edge for food.They were all fun to watch.I walked the beach & found alot of nice shells.The beach was quiet & I did alot of reading, that I never seem to do at home with all the interuptions.I also walked the beach to get a bite to eat, or just have a few drinks at Gulf Drive Cafe & Beach House Restaurant, or you can take the free bus, with stops close to the condo.There's lots of fun places to visit on the bus.
I looked at so many places to stay on aMI & I just kept coming back to this rental.After I arrived, I walked down the beach & realized many of the other places I was considering renting were a few doors down or across the street & cost alot more money & had less to offer.
You can't go wrong with this rental - loved it !!! -

My husband and I just stayed at Shell Cove Unit #1 for a week. I told my husband when he booked the condo that we should stay for four nights, but luckily he booked it for seven and I was not ready to leave. It was everything that I have ever imagined plus more. Very private location. Friendly neighbors but everyone stays to themselves. Bob was there when we arrived to make sure we had everything we needed and to let us know we could call him at any time of our stay if needed. The condo was fully equipped, very clean and tastefully decorated. We felt very comfortable as if we were in our own home. We highly recommend Bob & Odette's condo and would return here if we get the opportunity.

What a wonderful holiday we had at Shell Cove. We couldn't have wished for a more perfect location. The unit was literally a few steps to the beach and I loved the sound of the sea. There was everything we needed in the unit from daily cooking utensils to beach gear - Bob has thought of everything. The unit size was perfect for a two week break with high speed broadband available which we used extensively. Cable TV was HD and was connected to a DVD player - there was even a small selection of Dvds.
If you have visited anna Maria Island before, you can probably ignore the rest of the review because you will know what I am talking about.
This island is paradise! Every morning I awoke and thought of the Phil Collins track - Another Day in Paradise. The restaurants within walking distance and also within the reach of the trolley bus are extensive. I will list a few to wet your appetite. My husband and I have stayed in this unit on anna Maria Island for the past 3 years. The unit is very close to the water and the beach is not crowded. The owner is very responsive to additional requests from guests. The unit has all needed supplies. There are a number of very good restaurants nearby. On the south end of the island would recommend MarVista and BridgeTender. On the north end would recommend Waterfront& Sign of the Mermaid.

This condo was spotless, newly updated and very nicely decorated. The kitchen is fully equipped and easy to work in; bed,dining chairs and easy chair all very comfy. I only wish the unit was a little larger, but Bob and Odette have made excellent use of the space that is there. The size is the only reason I rated it at 4 instead of 5 stars.
We received excellent service from Bob, who we liked very much. He provided lots of info about the area and amenities and called me back immediately for some little questions I had the first couple of days.
Bradenton Beach is a beautiful spot and "our" beach was not crowded. Both the sand and water were very clean. Very nice people to visit with from the other Shell Cove units. Great location on the island. -

From the moment we scheduled our stay, to the time we headed home again every thing was great. When we arrived at the condo Bob greeted us and gave a very thorough tour of all it had to offer and gave suggestion about things to do in the area, we checked them out and we were not dissapointed. The condo itself was very comfortable and spacious for the two of us, and it was stocked with so many useful items we didn't have to bring them along. The location of the condo right on the beach was just fabulous, we could step out the door and be at the waters edge in less than a minute. It is located between Cortez and Manatee bridges so getting places was easy too. We loved it and would recommend it highly!

What a wonderful time we had at this studio condo. Everything we could possibly need was right at our fingertips. Sparkling clean, comfortable, and what a wonderful host Bob was. We could have talked to him for hours!! The beach was right out the back door and the weather was most enjoyable. My husband fished in the evening and we got to meet many new people from all over the us. We even had a heron visit us while my husband fished. We will be back next year hopefully the same dates. We loved this place. It is a studio but well layed out, very clean, decorated nicely. Just enough dishes, seating, etc for two. You walk out the door right onto the beach. So convenient for bringing out beach chairs or going back for drinks or anything you forgot. Fishing right there in the surf. Great shelling, bird watching, dolphins cruising by. You could sit on the beach at night under moonlight and watch the waves. This was the best beach access we have ever had during a coastal stay. We would love to go back again.

we celebrated our 11th anniversary at Shell Cove. The view was incredible, the room was immaculate, bed was very comfortable, everything very clean Bob was very helpful. We highly recommend Bob and Odette and their studio Beach was beautiful and clean. Anyone looking for a peaceful getaway will not be disappointed.

We loved being located directly on the beach and having such a beautiful view of the Gulf from inside our room. The place was immaculate and was more than adequately stocked with anything and everything you would need while you were there...and it was only a short drive to Publix if you needed to pick up a few groceries. Having a private entrance so close to the suite's reserved parking space, was another great feature of this place.
We also thoroughly enjoyed the "island" ambiance of the Sandbar Restaurant,also located just a short drive away.
We did not have the pleasure of meeting Odette, but Bob is a great guy and was a most gracious host.
We would have preferred the suite to have been a little larger and would probably have slept better in a kingsize bed...but we still had a great stay and would highly recommend it to others. -

The unit was larger than we expected and beautifully appointed. We were impressed with the linens, the ample kitchen utensils and the availability of beach chairs, etc.
The location was excellent with a beautiful view and close proximity to restaurants and shopping.

We had a wonderful week at Unit 1 Shell Cove. The Unit is incredibly well equipped, is very nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. It is situated a few steps from an amazing beach, you can see the sea from the bed. Bob was very friendly and gave us tips about the area but was never intrusive; it was good to have him on site.

We just spent 6 nights at Unit 1 Shell Cove and wish we could have stayed longer. The Unit is directly on the beach though not overlooked as set back a little. The Unit had every facility you could want from a holiday home, and more. There is plenty of storage space, a fully equipped kitchen inc washer/dryer. shampoo, wash powder condiments etc. all provided. Free WiFi available in the Unit and beach chairs, towels etc. also. Bob and Odette have thought of everything you would need to make it a home away from home. The area is very peaceful and there is not much to do past 10 pm but we loved this. There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby and a free trolley bus which stops very nearby and has stops all over the island. The price was very reasonable and Bob was a real star, advising us of places to visit in the area, he makes you feel very welcome. We would recommend this Unit very highly for a couple wanting a relaxing vacation on a beautiful beach.

My husband and I loved our stay at Shell Cove. It was dark, late and rainy when we arrived but Bob was there to greet us at the condo and walk us through our every need! The condo is beautifully decorated and stocked better than anywhere I've stayed before. We didn't even have to pack our beach chairs. We enjoyed a lot of restaurants while in the area but also cooked a few meals at the condo. We had a nice evening the last night eating by candlelight at the outside table enjoying the ocean breeze. I would recommend this condo to any couple that wants to spend time together!

This is my second time staying at Shellcove in unit 1. When I say Bob has thought of everything you could possibly need(besides food), I mean it. Detergent for washer, aspirin, beer cozies, sunscreen, you name it, it was there. Most other places give you a starter kit and you have to go out and buy everything else. Attention to detail, the beautiful beach right out your backdoor and the island itself make this my paradise. (comfortable bed, too) Until the time when I finally move here, I will continue to stay at Shellcove. Thank you!for helping to make my vacation a perfect one.

While planning our recent trip to anna Maria Island, we came across the listing for this unit. It was exactly as presented and the location was better than I ever imagined - the beach is right outside the front door and there are several good restaurants nearby. Bob and Odette take pride in making sure the unit is spotless, very comfortable and stocked with everything needed for a perfect vacation. We will definitely return.

We stayed during the first week of august and could not have enjoyed our stay more. The place was right on the beach as advertised. We enjoyed eating our meals outside on the patio or inside by the window facing the beach and could see the beach and the ocean from either spot. The owners provided everything you could need for a day at the beach including beach chairs and an umbrella. They were also helpful with navigating around the island including pointing out local shops and restaurants. The place was also very clean and everything looked updated including modern appliances like a glass top stove. The condo is also centrally located on the island which means that everything is within a short drive. Our dedicated parking space was always free for us. Perfect place for couples to relax.

My husband & I were looking for a special place to celebrate our 30th anniversary, and we found it! Bob went out of his way to make us feel welcome, the location was a+, the unit was impeccably clean, (beautifully done in white and beige)there wasn't anything we needed that wasn't already there except for our groceries (Ladies, leave your hairdryer home!), and we didn't even have to buy sunblock! Loved the back entrance to get to our car. Very private! Quick ride to shopping, Publix food store, restaurants, and strolling on the piers at night. Even saw the moon rise from anna Maria Pier one night! And the sunsets right out the front door on the beach were spectacular!!! Lots of brochures on fun things to do and plenty of menus to help make your choice. We didn't want to leave, and we plan to go back...Thank you, Bob and Odette, for making our anniversary such a memorable one! Everything was perfect!

Shell Cove Unit 1 is immaculate, stocked with everything you need, and in a perfect location. Just walk out the front door and you're on the quiet, uncrowded beach. The bed is super comfortable, and the kitchen is brand-new (in fact, everything looks new). We loved it!

We were pleased to find the condo very clean with many comforts provided. We have stayed at other condos that did not even provide toilet paper! Bob was very accommodating on our arrival, he suggested restaurants and local places of interest. We loved walking the miles of beach each day. He was very kind when we had to cut our vacation short due to a family death and offered to credit us the days we did not use if we wanted to come back. We are looking forward to returning next spring. If you are looking for a quiet relaxed vacation you will enjoy this condo.

My husband and I stayed for 5 nights and had a great time. Bob met us at the room the minute we arrived and answered all our questions, and gave us several helpful recommendations. The room is literally steps from the beach. It's so clean and has everything you could ever need...sheets/towels/umbrella/chairs/full kitchen/amazingly Comfortable bed/HD flat screen tv/cable channels galore! The price is very reasonable and well worth it. We enjoyed the beach and the restaurants, as well as some great shopping on Bridge st. and anna Maria island. There are several nice restaurants on Cortez too, the Cortez kitchen and a cuban place called Jose's Real Cuban Food. There's a Caribbean place called Banana Cabana near by, also a trip to anna Maria wouldn't be complete without visiting Mr. Bones restaurant! Once you've walked the beach from the room, be sure to drive up to the tip of anna Maria Island and walk Bean Point, Very wide, feels like a nature preserve. The beach is really nice, and the water is completely clear with just a tint of green...and my favorite...warm this time of year ; ) Would highly recommend both the island and these accommodations.

The unit is a bit small, but if you are on good terms with your spouse or partner it is just a wonderful place to be for a vacation.The beautiful beach is right at the front door and the unit is spotlessly clean and well equipped.Parking in a reserved spot is right outside the back door. Our hosts Bob and Odette were very helpful, and were knowledgeable about the many restaurants nearby.Just a wonderful vacation spot...we look forward to our next visit.

Everthing from location to service at Shell Cove was exactly as advertised. Although a little on the small side, the condo was beautifully appointed, especially the kitchen area, and gave directly onto a quiet white sand beach providing gentle walks, great swimming and spectacular sunsets. Truly a slice of "old Florida" with just enough in terms of restaurants, shopping, even a lovely local museum and easy access to Bradenton and Sarasota. Even my husband, not a great vacationer, said he would like to come again - high praise!

We travelled to anna Maria Island/Bradenton Beach from Southern California. People asked us why are you going all the way to Florida when you live within 30 minutes from the beautiful So Cal beaches? Our response was we had never been to Florida and wanted to see and experience the Gulf Coast of Florida. Well we were not disappointed in any way. The condo was perfect in every way...location, clean, comfortable, and everything provided with the full kitchen ( all of the utensils, pots & pans, silverware, glasses, dishes, tupperware, etc).
Loved being on the ground floor, beautiful beach, beautiful water, beautiful sunsets.
Also, all the conveniences were in very close proximity...grocery store, post office, pharmacy, and a variety of restaurants.
We definitely recommend this to anyone and everyone interested in a relaxing getaway beach vacation.

This condo surpassed all of our expectations! Fresh beach cottage-like decor, great out-your-door beach access that allows as much walking as one desires, location is convenient to restaurants and shopping and the view of the gulf sunsets are spectacular. Immaculately clean and peaceful setting! Bob the owner has thought of every ammenity one could need and offered great advice on places to check out during our stay. I really looked forward to my beach getaway! Prior to arriving, Bob was very helpful with any questions I had. My husband and I stayed here for seven nights, and it was wonderful. We are from Louisiana, and we are looking to buy a home and move to the Sarasota/Bradenton area. This was a wonderful place to stay as we looked at homes. We didn't want to leave!
Bob is extremely nice and helpful. He showed us where everything was in the condo, told us a little about the area, and even recommended places to eat. He was there anytime we needed him, and we really appreciated his hospitality. The condo was just perfect for two! It was also extremely clean and nicely decorated. It was such a comfortable and relaxing place to stay, and Bob has it stocked with anything you might need. Plus, it is just steps from the beach. The view from just the front door of the condo is beautiful. The water is so blue, and the area is nice and quiet. The beach was not crowded with people like many beaches. We loved it.

My wife and I spent four nights at shell cove celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. We love this area--practically had the beach to ourselves.
Bob made sure in advance all of the small amenities were there--beach chairs, hammock, and a few steps a way the gulf. The view is awesome. We live in Dothan, Alabama, and we have frequented the gulf either in Panama City or Destin. Believe me, as beautiful as the beaches are in Destin and PC, you can not beat the view, solitude, and location--I mean you are literally footsteps from the gulf!
We had visited anna Maria Island on a day trip back in May of this year and said we would return because of the beauty--waters are like the Carribean.
We did have inclement weather--which no one can control, and yet, I can still rate this 25th celebration as five stars. We intend to make this a yearly celebration--well, maybe more than once a year!!!
If you go, make sure you visit the Sandbar Restaurant and the Beach Bistro--both are excellent with beautiful views as well. You will pay a little more at the Beach Bistro, but for a special occasion, it is worth it.
Enjoy your stay. We will definitely return.
Oh, and by the way, we feel like we made a friend for life with Bob.

Loved this condo! My boyfriend and I stumbled upon it when looking for something away from the tourist scene. First, I will say the only negative thing I could find is that this is a studio and is a bit on the small side. However, if you are one person or two people who get along, then it is easily manageable. The condo is extremely clean and well decorated with white tiled floors and wonderful bedding. The amenities surprised me and are many starting with umbrellas, beach chairs and rafts so that you dont have to lug around all that beach paraphernalia. Not that it matters because once you decide which swimsuit to wear that morning (the dry one), it is a walk out your backdoor, past the hammock, to the white sand beach. There is a washer/dryer, full kitchen, large screen cable tv, internet and a/C. Bob is friendly and greeted us at check-in with the morning newspaper and we did not see him for the rest of the trip unless we called him. The island itself is very laid back. There is a free trolley you can catch across the street if you want to tour the island. Overall, it is a very easy condo and a perfect setting for romance and relaxation. I can not wait to go back!

My wife and I stayed at Bob's condo at Shell Cove on anna Maria Island for our honeymoon. Bob was the perfect host. He greeted us at check-in, spent a few minutes showing us around the condo and suggesting restaurants/things to do on the island/etc. The condo was absolutely spotless when we arrived. One great thing about staying here is that we did not have to bring any of the stuff you typically have to lug around going to the beach. Bob supplied us with beach chairs, towels, umbrella, etc. The condo is also equipped with a full kitchen and any glasses, dishes, pots & pans you may need. Bob was available by phone for the couple of times my wife and I had questions for him but even though he lives a few doors down we only saw him at check-in.
This was our first trip to anna Maria Island and we absolutely fell in love. If you are looking for crowds, traffic and non-stop parties, go somewhere else. The island was so laid back and peaceful, the people friendly and inviting, and the beaches were very clean (no oil!). There are plenty of great restaurants available as well. The Sandbar, Gulf Drive Cafe, and the Rod & Reel were our favorites.
We will definitely be making this an annual trip and look forward to staying at Shell Cove again next year! -

My husband and I stayed here on our honemoon and we are glad we did! We arrived about 3 hours early and Bob let us check in and drop off our stuff while he finished cleaning and we went and looked around the island. When we returned the room was immaculate and Bob gave us some info about the island and told us to come knock on his door if we needed anything. Everything about the room was perfect... the view, the kitchen, the bathroom, linens, beach chairs and umbrella, Flat screen TV with cable... It felt just like home but better! The location is great, right in the middle of the island and there is a stop for the free island trolly a few steps from the room. There are public beaches nearby but there was no reason for us to use them because we had what felt like our own private beach right out the front door! I will tell everyone I know to give Bob and Odette a call when they want to go to aMI!!

The best 3 weeks holiday we have ever had. We travelled from the U.K. This condo has everything and more that you could want for two people. The setting is perfect for a beach holiday - you step straight out onto the white sand with lots of natural wildlife to view. The free trolley every 20mins takes you to all the shops, restaurants and other amenities you would need.
We would like to say a very big thank you to Bob and Odette who were a pleasure to meet and very helpful.
We will definately be going back.

My Dad and stepmom came over from the UK and stayed here for 3 weeks, this is a hidden gem - right on the beautiful beach, appartment was spotlessly clean with new appliances and the manager very helpful - i would without a doubt reccomend this place. We came to the appartment several times over the vacation and were so happy that we found the perfect place for them to stay.

Shell Cove #1 condo is very nicely furnished with all necessary amemities.The bed linens are high quality. Parking consists of a reserved spot with several spots available for guests.
The beach is at your doorstep and is a wonderful soft, white sand. Plenty of very small but rather nice shells to collect.
There are a number of nice restaurants both north and south of the unit. We had very good food at the Waterfront, the Sand Bar, the Beach House, Mar-Vista and the Sun House. The Sun House had half portions available for selected items. -

My husband and I stayed in this unit for a quiet relaxing 4 night getaway...well that's Exactly what we got and MORE! Bob made sure we had everything we needed then left us alone to enjoy our stay. (The fact that he lives on site doesn't mean he's going to be bothering you; actually didn't se him once..LOL) however he seems to be a great easy going guy.
The unit was well equipped and very clean also close to shops, groceries restaurants, etc....so you could go out or get take-out which is what we did a couple of nights and saw the most fabulous sunsets while having dinner on our patio.
If you LOVE the beach you can't get any closer (walk out your door take 5 steps and you're in the sand).
The closeness to the beach and the gorgeous sunsets are what I enjoyed the most (oh and of Course the company). I really didn't have any complaints and will be returning to Shell Cove for a longer stay; the only one thing that would be nice is a separate bedroom (I don't always sleep well and could get up without disturbing my husband).
YES would recommend if you love the BEACH and the BEAUTY of it all was the SUNSETS! Have the pictures to prove it!
P.S. There is a FREE trolley to take advantage of but didn't use it. -

My husband and I spent a perfect week in Condo Unit 1. The online pictures are nice but do not even come close to capturing the beautiful beach, building and condo. Bob and Odette provided everything we could possibly need including beach chairs, an umbrella and towels. The atmosphere is peaceful! The condo is spotless! Sunsets are amazing! We couldn't have asked for more and we are looking forward to many more stays at Shell Cove!

This condo was attractively decorated, clean, well equipped with everything needed plus extras, and in a wonderful location right on the beach. Bob was great to work out the condo arrangements and helpful with information about the island. I would recommend this condo especially to beach lovers.

Consider yourself lucky if the days or weeks you want are available. This is the perfect place for a much needed time-out. Unit 1 is comfortable, nicely decorated and immaculate. All of the extras are there, even a washer and dryer. The location is perfect, the view fantastic. Thanks Bob, we loved it.

The weather was not pleasant the first 3 weeks so were grateful for nice warm unit. Loved the well equiped kitchen and washer and dryer. Also enjoyed HD TV. Especially like closeness to the beach and view of the gulf. We look forward to next years stay. We thank Bob for his kindness!

While Condo Unit 1 was small, it was very comfortable for the two of us - clean with high quality appointments. Fully equipped including washer and dryer. The setting was just beautiful. This was our first time staying on Anna Maria Island. The beach is right out the door and it is clean with plenty of shells and white sand. The area offers a choice of very interesting restaurants (not just generic tourist types), quaint shops (not just cheap t-shirt shops), and great bicycling. Because of high-rise restrictions, the beach was not too crowded as most Florida beaches are. Bob & Odette were very helpful and congenial without intruding on our privacy at all. We stayed for one week and at the end of the vacation we were relaxed and rejuevenated - ready to rejoin the rat race. Great time and great place!

The only problem with our stay at Bob and Odette's Shell Cove was that we had to leave. The accomodations appeared to be recently remodeled (Odette, where did you buy the quilt? I love it.), very clean and well stocked with everything that you would need to enjoy your stay.
Bob was very helpful during our stay, giving us tips on which restaraunts to visit and making us feel right at home.
We've stayed at some nice beach front places before, but never have we been in one that literally is on the beach. Beautiful sunsets and falling asleep to the sound of crashing waves. Who could ask for more? -

Unit #1 was a perfect getaway place for our 40th Wedding Anniversary. The unit was spotless, the view beautiful, the other guests pleasant, and the location perfect. The condo is sized for 2 people, but it definatly does not feel small. The decorating is fantastic. The only Negative was that we could not stay longer. We will definatley refer our friends, and hope to return again ourselves.

Bob met us at the condo and was very nice, he basically made it feel like he was welcoming us into a piece of his home- He and his wife stay in a unit there and he said if we needed anything just to call. The condo itself was perfect, everything looked brand new and with a full size fridge, stove, washer and dryer and cabinets fully stocked with dishes and silverware we could have stayed there for weeks! The back door walked right out onto the beach where we saw dolphins everyday in the ocean. Great place to stay!

My husband and I just returned from three blissful days in the Shell Cove Gulf Front Studio Condo Unit 1. This newly renovated property was extremely clean and very well appointed. In fact, there wasn't anything we needed that wasn't there, including basic non-perishables like salt and pepper, cooking oil, coffee filters, napkins,paper towels,etc. We've often had to purchase these items at other rental locations.
As one earlier reviewer suggested, the pictures don't lie and, in fact, don't do it justice. It may be a little small for a longer stay but for the long weekend we had, it was perfect and we would certainly choose it again. -

You could not ask for more(but definetly just for 1 or 2)! The studio was clean, well stocked and the view out the door was just heaven. We would recommend it very highly and will be going back. Been going to Anna Maria for 28yrs and I love everything about it. Go!!!

Expect a quality rental for a single or couple at this destination. The exterior and interior of the building are modern/attractive with this unit being tastefully furnished with all the whistles and bells of convenience....first floor, front and back doors, lots of windows, parking space near the back door, comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen....it's all here. Right on the sand with a beautiful gulf front view sporting sea oats, sea grapes, casuarinas, pelicans, gulls, sunsets....it doesn't get any better.

This was my second stay this summer at Shell Cove...we chose to come again because I liked it so much the first time. The room is tastefully decorated, top-notch amenities, incredibly clean, beautiful window view of the Gulf of Mexico, the owner is pleasant and helpful if needed (I always seem to need help with the remote for the TV/cable/VCR no matter where I go!). The location is such that a stroll along the shoreline in either direction took us to places to eat.
The only thing I might suggest to add is internet service. I am not complaining, because I knew at the outset there was no internet service, but I would like it if there were. It would not matter to me if it were wifi or plug in.

As a fifth generation Florida boy, some of my earliest memories are at the beach, Anna Maria being one of them. Shell Cove reminds me of that 'Ole' Florida Charm I remember so well as a young boy. Very friendly and accomadating hosts who provided a well appointed, immaculate, and comfortable unit opening directly onto a quiet and refreshing beach, and if it gets to hot, then there is the hammock under the trees with a cool glass of iced tea. Like I said Old Style Florida . . .
