This bay front complex features a beautiful heated pool directly on the bay and a boat dock for fishing enthusiasts. Immediately across the street is the white, sandy beach and the Gulf of Mexico. We have stayed in this condo twice in the summer. It is the last building on the south end of the island where it narrows so you get both ocean and bay views. It has an outdoor pool that is great and it's on the bay side so when it gets too sunny and hot at the beach the building gives the pool some shade. You are so close to the ocean you can just go across the street, get some shells, come back eat lunch, go back to the ocean...The public beach and parking is the next section of the island, so on the weekend traffic can get crowded, but the beach has never seemed crowded. We have young kids and the close access to the beach, pool, dock, the bike trail, the nature park,and the trolley make the trip a lot easier. The condo has some beach stuff if you don't bring your own.
One quirk is the master bath has no door (!) so you have to close and lock the main bedroom door and the sliding door if you want privacy in the bathroom. Which is impossible if you are like us and have some people who nap or sleep in or have kids everywhere. So it usually ends up with all of us using the other hallway bathroom. The other quirk is the third "bedroom". It has a pullout couch which is not comfy and if you put a blow up mattress in there that takes up all the space. I wish they would put bunk beds in there (hint hint - we are planning on coming back in the fall). I think it is set up as a second living room, but the real living room is right outside the door so it doesn't really make sense.
We have stayed in two other locations on the island and one place off the island and for the price, location, size and amenities, it's awesome! You really never have to drive anywhere once you got settled. That end of the island is quiet and dark in the evening, very peaceful. Everything always works great, and we have never had any problems. Sometimes if you have two cars parking can be an adventure on the weekend for the second car, but you are so close to the ocean.

We drove down to Florida without reservations and were just going to chance it and boy were we thrilled. It couldn't have worked out any better. The condo was on the inter-coastal waterway with great boat dock/fishing pier and right across the street was the beach. Girls went one way and boys went the other and everyone was happy. Awesome pool and beautiful views. This is one condo that is on the top of our list for Florida vacation.

Check in was very easy, location was remarkable. Now, they have a boat dock, which was very convenient, but not allowed to park boat trailer on property. Upon arrival, the floors and rugs were not very clean. Our feet and our children's feet turned black within minutes of arriving. Next, the ''third bedroom'' had a pullout sofa that was broken and was unable to be repaired until the final day of our weeklong stay. So technically, we paid for a three bedroom, but only received a two bedroom.

We had a wonderful time. The sunsets were remarkable and having our boat at the dock was quite convenient. I will say getting in and out to the intercoastal waterway was very tricky especially at low tide. However, overall the Moorings was wonderful. The grounds were well kept, the pool was clean, as was the condo. We would recommend it to anyone.

No hassle experience. Same day maintenence on the disposal we discovered was not working upon arrival. The location was excellant, within walking distance to everything required. Traffic after 3:00 PM was a small pain trying to leave the island. Would have liked more outside parking. We drove down with a highrise roof van and could not get it into the underneath parking spaces. We would return in the future.
