Welcome to Wilderness Retreat, our beautiful log home conveniently located just 10 minutes south of Branson in Branson Cedars (Across Hwy 86 from Big Cedar Lodge). Offering the best of all worlds, we have the fun of Branson with it's myriad of entertainment, dining, and shopping options, and the peacefulness of our quiet little neighborhood of log homes nestled in the pristine Ozark woods. The cedar rocking chairs on the front porch symbolize our wish for your visit to our home-rock, rest, and relax! Our desire is that you feel right at home as soon as you walk in the door. Decorated with cozy, rustic furnishings and carefully chosen ant...iques, we have created a homey warmth for you to fully enjoy your stay in our Home Away From Home. Tablerock Lake is only 5 minutes away!! Big Cedar Lodge is also just minutes away, and the restaurants, etc., are open to the public. Dogwood Canyon Nature Park close by.

As you come in the front door, you will be in the lovely, vaulted great room with a fully equipped kitchen, dining table with seating for 8, and comfortable living room with a 40 inch flat screen TV and DVD player. Extended cable, free local and long distance calling (US), and Wi-Fi are provided. The massive, wood burning fireplace is the crowning glory, making this room a great place to gather with the family or just relax by the fire with a good book. Firewood is provided. A bookcase is filled with books from our own library and a large movie library is available. Also, several board games are provided for you to enjoy with your family.

We recently upgraded all the kitchen appliances to new Whirlpool ones that we love! Many small appliances are also provided including a large griddle, crockpot, blender, Bunn Coffeemaker (makes a pot of coffee in 3 minutes), toaster, and mixer. Lots of dishes, glasses, cups, etc are waiting for you. It is so much more fun to cook at the cabin than it is at home!

Double master bedrooms are located on both sides of the living room, furnished with lovely cedar log beds which are hand made by a local craftsman. 400+ thread count sheets and plush Simmons Beautyrest mattresses are provided on all beds. All four bedrooms have patio doors leading onto the deck or patio. Both are fully furnished and are ready for you to enjoy a meal outside (charcoal grill, & gas grill are provided) or just to relax and enjoy the wonderful view of the wooded hills. You may see turkey, deer, or other wildlife. New flat screen TVs are mounted in each bedroom. The large, luxurious bathrooms are totally awesome with large jetted tubs, separate, spacious showers, and double vanities. Candles and bubble bath are provided!!

Wait we are not finished yet. We firmly believe that you don't stop playing because you grow old, but that you grow old because you stop playing. So continue downstairs to a fabulous game room with a beautiful 8 foot, slate top, pool table and a professional sized air hockey table. If your sport is being a spectator, thats OK too; you can relax on the comfy sofa and watch the games or watch another flat screen TV. This room also has an outside entrance accessed from the patio. On both sides of the game room are the other 2 bedrooms, one with another king size bed and the other with 2 twin size beds that can be pushed together to make another king. The downstairs bathroom has a tub/shower combination. Also, downstairs is a wonderful laundry room with a new, full sized, front loading, washer and dryer. Detergent is provided. With all four bedrooms and the 2 sleeper sofas, this cabin can comfortably sleep 12 people.

Additional Location Information

From the Hwy 76/ 65 intersection at Branson, we are located 8 miles south. Turn west on to Hwy 86 for 1/2 mile. Then turn into our cozy log home neighborhood. The Hwy is all good and it only takes about 10 minutes from the Strip to be at the door of the cabin.

  We recently spent our annual extended-family vacation at the cabin, and it was exceptional! I cannot say enough to adequately express what a wonderful place this is. Charles and Brenda have gone out of their way to provide a comfortable and well-appointed home, as well as smooth transactions through every step of the reservation and check-in process. The house is beautiful and every detail has been considered, including helpful information on the area's attractions and restaurants. We travel extensively and would count this among one of our favorite stays.

  We had such a great time ,the cabin is so comfortable. We had three couples with us and they

  THE CHODRICKS WERE VERY EASY TO WORK WITH. THEY TOOK CARE OF EVERY DETAIL. THE FOLDER WITH ALL THE INFO ABOUT THE CABIN, THE LOCAL EATING PLACES, DOWN TO SHOPPING WAS VERY HELPFUL.
  
  THE HOME WAS VERY SPACIOUS AND VERY WELL DECORATED. THE REAL WOOD BURNING FIREPLACE WAS NICE, AS WAS THE WHIRLPOOL TUBS. WE ENJOYED EVERYTHING ABOUT THE CABIN.
  
  THE LOCATION WAS GREAT. NOT TOO FAR FROM BRANSON, BUT FAR ENOUGH AWAY YOU COULD SIT OUT ON THE SPACIOUS DECKS AND WATCH THE WILD TURKEYS STRUT PAST IN THE WOODS BEHIND CABIN.

  A spring trip to the Ozarks is a fabulous one, but staying in this cabin was more than we ever dreamed. The house is furnished EXACTLY as I would have done - the little touches, like bubble bath and microwave popcorn in the cabinets . . . we just were overwhelmed. There were family movies and games, books, personal touches. This is the third vacation home we've rented for spring break and it is by FAR the BEST. We have ALWAYS had to provide paper products, soap, etc. This time we just left it all behind for the next famly! What a blessing!! If we were fortunate enough to have a rental property, this is the example we would follow!!
