I could not recommend this house more highly. Lovely position, spacious, comfortable with excellent amenities (excellent hot water especially worth mentioning!). Top floor bedrooms particularly nice. We have already booked again for next year.

Wonderful view from rooms and terrace -great to sit outside. Super job with the top floor bedrooms. Kitchen felt a nice place to be. Need some clothes storage in the smaller top floor room. Dishwasher far too small. You need a few more plates and mugs. Good coffee machine. Dealing with the owner was very straightforward.

Dan is a great owner, always followed up and checked how things we going.
We had one problem with water heater, but it was fixed quickly.
The location is great, but you do need a car. We walked to the nearest village of Villars, but too far to do it every day for food shopping.
We found a great resource in Villars, Christy, originally from Oklahoma, but who has lived in France for 15 years. She is running the tourist office in Villars, but only for the summer months.
We really liked the market in Thiviers and the little villages near by. The caves near Villars are worth the visit and in June were still quiet before the summer tourists.
By the end of our stay we were just getting into the swing of country life and could have stayed for a couple more weeks.

Absolutely beautiful property which combines
tranquility with style and luxury.
The house and grounds are full of charm and
character and Dan and Selina have performed
magic in renovating and decorating it - you can
tell they love the place.
You feel completely removed from the stresses of
life, yet the house is fitted with all of the comforts
of modern living and there is plenty to do and see
in the area - we went canoeing from the local
town - great fun.

This house is beautifully situated on a hill and has a wonderful view and well
property. The house itself has been very tastefully renovated/decorated and
offers all the mod cons one could hope for. When we were there the loft area
had just been completed. The owner was extremely helpful and attentive to
our needs.
Our feeling was that the owners were just starting to let out their holiday home
to others and that there were still a few missing bits and pieces that needed to
be added to make the place perfect. Lounge chairs outside would have been
nice to have for example. A few more towels etc. Nothing serious and
nothing I am sure that they haven't already thought of since we visited.
Net, net. Highly recommended - especially for families. -

We visited in Spring, a wonderful time to stay, with lots of blossom, cuckoos, black redstarts. Meals out on the terrace, breathtaking sunsets with long light evenings. We visited Excideuil, Thiviers, Perigeux and Brantome. The house is very comfortable and the website does it justice. Very quiet surroundings, but close enough to shops etc. with plenty to do including canoeing from Brantome.
