Description from the owner

Located near the southern border of Vermont, our very private and romantic log cabin rests beside a pond on 25 private acres surrounded by maple, oak, birch, and pine trees.

From the front porch you can hear the rushing stream and waterfall just below the cabin through the woods.

You may even catch a glimpse of the blue heron that visits the pond or the turkeys that visit our cherry tree and hawthorn tree. Explore and splash in the creek's natural pools and waterfall, enjoy the wildflowers in the meadows, or wander in the woods and listen to the natural noises of the forest.

Peace and quiet is what you will find here. Com...Read more

      Lovely winter weekend in VT

Left on 02/16/2012 for a stay in January 2011

Wonderful stay in a picturesque setting. Too much paperwork for one weekend, however. Our group spent a lot of time cleaning and filling out forms which took away from our overall experience. Plus we felt we were cleaning up after previous guests, as things were pretty dusty. Regardless, we had a good time. The cabin part of house was great, especially the loft. Vermonty!

      relaxing, serene

I have stayed at the cabin several times. The accomadations are just what I look for in a vacation rental, homey, clean but not pretentious (the photos should be reshot because some of the furninshings have been updated) The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is the bright green carpet in the living room could be replaced. That being said some of my favorite moments have been sitting on the screened porch overlooking the pond, reading and enjoying a glass of wine with my sweetie or ...on the other porch listening to the brook. Romantic, heavenly... Brattelboro is a few miles away with interesting shops and restaurants as well as ballroom dancing at the Stone Church on Friday nights! A great value for anyone that wants to "get away"

      A "special" place

Left on 02/09/2012 for a stay in August 2011

      Greetings Tom,

Thanks for asking. I am happy to say that My family and I have been visiting your Vermont log home on and off for many years... (almost ~20?) and since my first stay I have been aware of the tranquility and beauty of the property. The brooks and waterfall, the pond teaming with critters, and the surrounding property make for a very peaceful and inviting environment. As a matter of fact it wasn't more than a week ago my children asked, "When can we go back to the log cabin Dad?". Of course my first thought was "not soon enough!" :-)
Thanks for inviting me to reply, Tom. Best of luck.
      Cheers,

It is a wonderful place to relax, regain inner strength, and enj

To begin, communication with Tom was clear and all of my questions were answered thoroughly. The cabin itself was a charming place with many cozy rooms to relax in. Each window offered a difference view of nature which was exactly what I needed. All appliances worked well. The entire cabin was neat, clean, as well as efficiently run. Sitting on the porch listening to nature and the water fall while reading was truly great. I had to get used to the small shower area, but that is alright.

We spent many times in this serene beautiful setting and I will never forget the words "your dog is welcome" when we first inquired. Tom sees that every need is generously supplied and we miss our times there. We are older and
not as able as we were otherwise we would be continuing to visit twice a year.
