      Awesome location, great time!

Left on 11/01/2012 for a stay in October 2012

As a first time user, we were apprehensive but hopeful. The description was accurate regarding the location. It was awesome! The views were great, the walking distances accurate. Can't really comment on the ski aspect as we were there off season.

Furnishing wise it was dated but clean. Underground parking was awesome and we did walk to everything we needed in town. Only 2 pieces of firewood provided so we didn't use the fireplace. Did use the balcony to sit and enjoy the afternoon.

"Cozy" does fit the description. Would have been a tough fit for 4 adults. Not a lot of extra room even for one suitcase each. Bathroom is small and no heat source. Heat was hard to regulate overall and due to loft situation was hot upstairs sleeping. However, with the window open and the river just outside it provided a very nice sound for sleeping and masked any other noises from the surrounding area.

Location was nice and yes the restaurant was convenient. Kitchen was nice. Large refrig, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster and rangetop grill/stove. Oven hard to regulate with no markings telling what temperature selected.

Internet access, TV and cable are dated. No flat screen and lots of extra boxes and wires attached to the TV. We had no use of internet due to wi-fi not being able to connect to Ipad. Was told most use laptop?? This made it somewhat difficult that we had to go off property to find wi-fi. Saw another review about being tethered

Managers were helpful and available when we called in trying to get connected and even being without cable due to outage in the area wasn't a problem because there is so much to do.

People in this town were awesome! Very friendly and helpful. Even being off season there were lots of shops and restaurants open to choose from. I'm sure during peak season this is a hopping place!

We are planning to come back to the area.

Nice place . . . great location and value.

Left on 08/28/2012 for a stay in August 2012

For the price, this is a great place to stay for couples who want to be close to everything. The balcony has a great panoramic view to the north. While we concerned about the noise level from Mi Casa (the restaurant below) and the adjacent restaurants/bars, it was not an issue. The Blue River is adjacent to the building and the sound of the river was the only thing we heard at night. Great value stay.

      False advertising

Left on 07/16/2012 for a stay in July 2012

The unit was good except for 3 things, 2 of which are very important things, thus the 3 stars rating.
First, the bed is advertised as a queen, but it is really a double. (I measured it! 54" and a queen is supposed to be 60"). It is hard enough for 2 adults to sleep on a queen much less a double! We had a hard time sleeping and by the third night, we were miserable. We had booked 4 nights and considered leaving a day early, but were unable to for other reasons. The owner has to know this, (when they bought the sheets for it, hello!)and yet they continue to let the condo be billed as having a queen bed. We consider this fraudulent false advertising.
The girl in the office when we checked in said that the unit had just received a brand new matress that very day. (Yay, except it was the wrong size.) So, the owner knows!
The second thing was that the wifi passcode provided by the owner did not work. The management tried in vain to help correct this, but were unsuccessful. (management was great, by the way.)
In the end, we had to sit tethered to the tv cabinet where the box was with an ethernet cable. My husband had a lot of work to do, and this was inconvenient. Again, not Breckenridge accomodations' fault, but reflects badly on them nevertheless.
The third thing was minor, but again, an owner issue. There wasn't enough clothes storage space. The only closet was packed full of owner stuff, with no room to hang clothes. There was a shallow little drawer unit upstairs but it wasn't enough for 2 people.
Also, the oven couldn't be used accuratley because the numbers had rubbed off of the knob. The jenn-air grill was great though, we made steaks and burgers on it.
I will say that the unit had a great view from the balcony. Loved that. We enjoyed sitting out there.
All these issues can be easily resolved by the owner, and if they were correctd, it would be a fantastic rental.

Liked the location very much. App. good for 3 pers max. Couch was not flat enough to accomod. 2 persons.
Heard no noise from Cecilia's restaurant (and it was always crowded).
      No humidifier!
No reception etc. was okay for me, box at shoppingmall was really hard to open to get the key.

      Convenient location

Left on 02/29/2012 for a stay in February 2012

Nice cozy condo convenient to the slopes. We could be in the condo eating lunch in 5 minutes; a real time and $$ saver on a busy weekend. The futon style pull out couch made a much better bed than the typical sofa bed; no metal bars sticking in your back and easier to stow. Not very comfortable to sit in...but we're skiing, not sitting.

Kitchen was a little ragged, oven knob had the temperatures worn off, so that was a guess, and only one large pan and one small sauce pan made cooking a challenge. Jenaire electric grill was a real plus;used that a lot. Lots of dishware and cooking utensils (6 spatulas of different sizes) so you didn't have do do dishes after every meal. Only 2 large stools (with no back) at the dining area is an issue since the unit sleeps 4. You had to eat in shifts or in a chair with the plate on your lap.

Not much storage since the only closet was filled with the only dresser and a bunch of broken/owner stuff. This needs cleaned out.

Heated garage and elevator a real plus, especially at the end of the day. Providers were responsive to requests for more paper goods.

      Great Place!

Left on 03/24/2011 for a stay in March 2011

I wasn't sure about the value of this place when I saw the pictures online... but they really did not do it justice! It was a great location - right on the edge of town, and a block away from Peak 9. It was cute, spacious, and clean as well, with underground parking (which was nice because it snowed throughout our entire stay). The only complaint I have is that the mattress on the bed sagged in the middle, so it made for an uncomfortable sleep if you're picky about things like that.

      Excellent location, lacking in quality

Left on 03/23/2011 for a stay in March 2011

Der Steiermark has one thing going for it: Location. It is very close to the Quicksilver lift at the base of Peak 9 at Breck. Unfortunately, the management company is not very accessible and the rental itself is of mediocre quality. Before arrival, I was not given an update call or email telling me how to check in late or where to go to pick up keys. I arrived around 1am on Thursday night (late flight in, bad snowstorm coming over the pass) and had to ask three different hotels where the key drop was for Breck accommodations. Finally I found the drop box and went back to my unit to find scrapes and dirt on the floors and wall, an old used bar of soap in the shower and no toiletries aside from toilet paper ready for me when I arrived. The unit was reasonable, decent layout, however the furniture was old and run down, lampshades had tape on them, etc. The unit also did not have internet access, which I specifically asked for upon booking. When I called and asked the opinion of the staff, who was very nice over the phone, I feel as though they pushed the unit on me because it was available. I do not feel as though I was steered towards the best unit for the price range. Overall I am disappointed with Breckenridge accommodations. On the other hand, my vacation was a blast.

      Pros:
Loved the location close to slopes and the ski rental shop.
loved that is was right around the corner from main street or you could take the bridge to main street from the back.

      Cons:
Wish that the bathroom was remodeled or updated--it really needs it. wish there were more towels in bathroom, we ran out after 2 days. the beds are too soft for our liking.

A decent studio condo near the lifts

Left on 02/09/2011 for a stay in February 2011

Overall this unit was decent and I would book another stay. Certainly nothing fancy, but it's in a great location near lifts, shops, restaurants, bars, etc. We were able to check-in early which was wonderful and the process was easy. My only two complaints: very filthy carpeting and thin walls (we were awoken each night by loud people staying in the surrounding units). I think new carpeting and some updates would make this studio condo a better place to stay!

      Best for Party-goers

Left on 09/02/2010 for a stay in August 2010

We were grateful to get a discounted price for our studio/loft unit. The views were great, the sound of the river/creek was comforting (and hid some of the late night noise) and the kitchen was well equipped. I expected the unit to have wireless internet service but it does not. I had planned to work the 3 days we were there but couldn't because I couldn't get on the internet.

There is a small window of time to check in (4:00 - 6:00 pm). We arrived at the property mgmt office at 4:15 only to find no one minding the store. We had to wait till someone returned to give us our keys and parking pass. Secondly, there were no instructions on how to get to the parking and then that we needed our room key to get back to the garage.

The carpets were stained and worn in the unit we had. The TV was small, I would have expected 32" at the least. There was no stereo or place to plug in the ipod.
The worst was the noise at night. The bar scene was upon us (being only a 1/2 block from Main Street). We could hear music, yelling, and such until 2:00 am in the morning. Not great for sleeping.

Check out time was 10:00 am! Who has a checkout time of 10:00 am? Most hotels/resorts are 12:00 pm.

Next time, we will pay to stay in a first class resort rather than a small condo.

Left on 09/02/2010 for a stay in August 2010

The stream that runs through Breck was right outside our corner window. The sound of the flowing water made sleeping at night very peacefull. We were within a hundred yards or so of Main street, so we didn't even see our truck for 3 days. Underground, indoor parking was great!! You needed a key to enter the garage by car and by elevator. As for the room, it was nice, however the carpet was stained and should have been replaced, or at least cleaned, a long time ago. Easy walk, or bike ride, to anywhere in town. We rode our bikes to the Frisco, Dillon area. About ten miles and mostly flat exept for a one mile stretch.
Looking forward to going back and will probably stay the same place. The safe, convenient parking made the stained carpet a minor problem.
Ps The Mexican Restaurant below the condo was awesome

Left on 03/31/2010 for a stay in March 2010

The service we received was good. The condo was ready even though we arrived early; upon departure, the check-in personnel were kind enough to let us store our luggage at their desk until our shuttle arrived (much later than our check-out time of 10 a.m.). The location of the home was excellent - right across the street from our ski rental location and the lift. It was nice to be right above Mi Casa, a very good restaurant, where we ate and had drinks several times. The condo itself was a bit shabby, even for a ski rental, and we had some difficulty regulating the heater. The bed was mediocre.

We loved the mountain and ate at Sevens almost every day.

Left on 03/17/2010 for a stay in March 2010

We were told we'd be getting a queen pullout and a queen bed in the loft. The bed in the loft was a double and the "queen pullout" was a broken futon. The stovetop in the kitchenette hardly worked. It seems that the owners attempted to cover these glaring inconsistencies up by putting 458 various-size pillows in the room, which only made it more cramped. Thank God I could drown my pissed-offness during happy hour 2 blocks away.

This unit is in a great location, right in the middle of town just off Main St., and has fantastic views. It has nice amenities such as underground parking, a nice hot tub, elevator, and fireplace with firewood supplied. However, the unit was filthy and the living room furniture was old and dirty. This would be a perfect place if it had a deep clean and the furniture was upgraded.
