The location is great. Kids can walk to the ski school on their own (less than a minute fromt he building's door). Plenty of restaurants within very short walking distance. Unit very comfortable in good condition. Would certainly stay there again.

The room was clean and nicely appointed. There was some deferred maintenance (a missing cabinet door on the island and a drafty window seal in the master bedroom), but otherwise very good condition. The kitchen had everything you need for fixing meals and the dining area was big enough for our party of five plus some.
Things to consider that aren't readily apparent on the listing website. There is a pool, but you must leave the building and walk outside through a common area about 75 feet. The February weather wasn't too bad so the kids didn't mind wearing a light jacket and shoes to the pool. If you're traveling with little ones and the pool is a big deal, this isn't the best property. My 3 & 5 y/o ended up in the hot tubs because the "heated pool" was too cold to swim in (a regular there was swimming laps in a wet suit it was so cold). I've stayed at other Colorado mountain resorts and have been able to swim comfortably in the winter, so this water was definitely colder than it should have been. Oh, and there are no towels at the pool for you to use.
The garage is convenient but there is no bell service to get your bags/gear up to your room and you are left to chance finding a luggage cart. And this particular unit, while closer to the ski school and lifts, was not connected by an interior hallway/tunnel to the main building or lobby. We discovered this when we ordered pizza to our room one night and found I had to run a city block outside in the snow...very underdressed.
Check-in was easy once we got to the right place, but the booking agency sent me two sets of directions and two different check in addresses. The first place I showed up claimed to be the right place to be for my room (they were not) but I had to go back into town to get my room key (the 2nd location in my instructions) and then go to a 3rd location to check in. A little more confusing than I had hoped after a 9 hour drive with 3 kids eager to get out of their car seats.Response from Great Western Lodging - 03/18/2013

Dear Omaha Jones Family -
Thank you for your review! We always like to hear from our guests and this is great information for us to make sure that our units are getting the attention needed and guest’s are experiencing exceptional customer service.
I have forwarded this to our maintenance department to make sure the cabinet door and window seal are fixed for all future guests. I have also shared this with the Homeowner Association of Main Street Station to make sure they are aware of the temperature in the pool being cold.
For your next stay, I always like to note the easiest way to get around Main Street Station is actually the garage. The garage connects all buildings, a much better way to get between buildings, especially in the snow! I will make sure our front desk staff is aware of this good insider’s tip for all guests of Main Street Station.
Lastly, thank you for letting me know about the different check-in instructions being given out! I will contact your booking agency and make sure that only the one correct check-in directions are provided for our guests.
Your review of your stay in Main Street Station #1505 is greatly appreciated and please let me know if there is anything I can assist with for your next trip to Breckenridge!
Sincerely,

Property was nice but was over priced and at least one clearning service should have been provided. Kitchen was not well equipped. We had all kinds of problems and since property is manged be someone else we could not get response from the property but had to call Great Western who was not located on site.

I have forwarded the information on to the housekeeping department to make sure the kitchen is well stocked before every arrival, as well as management to investigate implementing housekeeping services for weekly stays.
I apologize for the confusion on the response to the maintenance issues. The Front Desk is to inform all guests at check-in to call us here at Great Western Lodging for anything they need during their stay and I will follow up to make sure this information is being relayed.

Salt Lake City, UtahGreat Summer Spot & Value
Left on 09/17/2009 for a stay in July 2009
We've taken our Family Summer Vacation in Breckenridge for 19 years and have always enjoyed our stayed.
We have used Great Western Lodging for the past 5 years and have always been pleased with the service and the ammenities that their properties in Breck have.
They're always quick to respond to any problems or difficulties that we have incurred while staying with them. And they have gone out of their way to help correct any problems (which have been few and far in between).
The only reason that I gave them a 4 out of 5 star rating is that we have a large family and their never seems to be enough dishes, glasses, eating utensils for us (it's hard that as a family of 7 -- 2 parents, 5 kids, that we have to scramble for enough dishes, etc. at one given meal -- the room is to accomodate 8 and we never have enough of that kind of stuff). Otherwise -- it's a GREAT property and a great company to rent through!
We'll be back again next year! -
