      Very nice

Left on 12/05/2012 for a stay in November 2012

Loved our condo had a very nice time, only downfall was the sink in the kitchen was leaking, when we contacted mgt about the issue they told us they already knew about the issue. If they knew without us calling why was the issue not fixed? All in all great place to have Thanksgiving it just would have been more convenient and easier to clean up after our selves with a sink in proper working order.
Thank you, the Condo was very nice.

      Dear Peter -

Thank you for your review! We always like to hear from our guests and this is great information for us to make sure that our units are getting the attention needed and guest’s are experiencing exceptional customer service.

I will definitely be following up with our Maintenance Department concerning the leaking kitchen sink to ensure everything is in working order and to find out what happened that it was not fixed prior to your arrival. In the case of parts on order or similar situations, we always do our best to let guests know at check-in or prior to arrival on the status of these items, but I will investigate as to what the situation was with this kitchen sink.

Your review of your stay in Powderhorn #C203 is greatly appreciated and please let me know if there is anything I can assist with for your next trip to Breckenridge!

A Romantic Getaway in a Forest Setting

Left on 11/01/2012 for a stay in October 2012

Beautifully decorated with a classy touch of old world style, this one bedroom condo gazes out onto a lovely, serene forest with a fresh water stream. Clean, cozy, and well cared for is how I felt throughout my stay. Remember to soak in the deep, claw foot tub. It is a touch of heaven!

      Incredible stay

Left on 06/26/2012 for a stay in June 2012

This was totally unexpected. The most beautiful places we have stayed, especially when it comes to being in the mountains, its home away from home, loved it!!!
We were surprised to see that the master bedroom mattress was very soft so used it bowed in the middle and made it very uncomfortable to sleep on, had to sleep on one side, just needs to be replaced and I see we are not the only ones who have noticed. We would like to go back this summer, hope it is replaced soon:)

Beautifully decorated and very nice condo!

Left on 03/02/2012 for a stay in February 2012

Condo is beautifully decorated and spacious for a couple. Not for family with children particularly. Accessible to town and peak 9. We easily walked to both so you do not need a vehicle. Hot tubs and pool across street and very nice but hard to make yourself walk over there but they're only about 5 minutes or less walk. It's just really gorgeous place inside and kitchen has everything you need for cooking. Recommend for a couple only and if you are particular and want very nice accommodations.

      Wonderful experience!

Left on 02/08/2012 for a stay in February 2012

First of all, I must say that Breckenridge is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been! The condo was very clean, very close to the lift, and had all of the amentities you could need (except the hairdryer I forgot to bring). The heated floors were a nice touch, and the view from the patio was superb. The only thing I would have changed about this property, is for the hot tubs to be closer to the actual unit. It's only a short walk across the street but when it's that cold outside, you just want to go right down the elevator and jump in! However, it will not be a deterrent from us staying there again. I will for sure call Great Western Lodging in the future to book this same condo (Powderhorn C203) again. Thanks for a wonderful trip!

      Nice & roomy!

Left on 01/19/2012 for a stay in January 2012

This was our first time to stay at this condo and we enjoyed the spaciousness, as well as the mountain decor. We really enjoyed having 2 bathrooms, each with a shower. The closeness to the lifts was a real positive for us and the view from the back was beautiful.

A few problems...the master bed mattress needs to be replaced - it's extremely soft, and we had problems with the water heater the first 2 days (took cold showers), but it seemed to get straightened out after that. The fold out bed was extremely uncomfortable - but they almost always are. I would recommend bringing an air mattress instead.

We enjoy a family ski vacation in Breckenridge every January and have stayed in various condos. We would definitely return to this unit.

      wonderful and luxurious stay

Left on 01/15/2012 for a stay in December 2011

Our family spent Christmas/New Year 2011/2012 in this beautifully updated 1-bedroom apartment. We chose it because the pictures on the Great Western website showed a tastefully remodeled apartment. It was also the roomiest 1-Br they had available. The pictures were accurate! Though the building is from the 80's this apartment is recently updated to today's standards. It has a modern hunting lodge decor/theme. We were within walking distance to the Quicksilver lift. I really recommend this apartment.

Left on 08/18/2011 for a stay in July 2011

Condo was nice, quiet with plenty of room to spread out and enjoy our vacation. Very clean, nice furnishings and a beautiful wooded view from the balcony. My only issues were:
      (1) the lighting in the bathrooms and bedroom was very dim (maybe they need to replace the bulbs with a higher wattage?); (2) the mirrors in the bathrooms were hung too high for a short person (I'm 5'1" and all I could see of myself was from my nose and up)and as a female that's a problem trying to get ready to go out;
      (3) the mattress in the bedroom needs to be replaced - it provided no support for your back
      (4) the unit doesn't have aC, ceiling fans or box/portable fans to circulate the air. The only choices to get fresh air is to open the sliding glass door in the living room which doesn't reach to the bedroom. There is a window in the bedroom; however, it opens directly onto the common walkway of the building - so that's not something that we were comfortable leaving open all night.

The mountain stream view from the living rm was great! It was so nice to be able to walk to Breck from our condo from the path near the stream. We usually left our car in the underground parking throughout the week. We enjoyed the pool and hot tubs that were near. Having two bathrooms were great-one off the master and one off the living area.

The condo was very well furnished with a full kitchen. The heated floors in the bathrooms were definitely a plus! Gwl was really easy to work with and made sure everything was taken care of. It's less than a 5 minute walk from the Quicksilver lift and a 10 minute walk to the nearest restaurant. We only stayed 2 nights, so we didn't have time to find something we didn't like and would love to stay here again.

Lots of good with a bit of very bad.

Left on 02/18/2011 for a stay in January 2011

The condo is really very nice -- well appointed, fairly spacious, and in a great location once you figure out how to cut through the woods to get to the slopes.

That said, the main bed is atrociously uncomfortable. Seriously, it's enough to make us consider staying someplace else for our next visit. After hitting the slopes all day, the last thing you need is to be beaten up by the bed all night.

Another strange thing is that the TV/stereo are terrible. Big, clunky holdouts from the early 90's, they're very much out of place in an otherwise exceptionally well-appointed unit. Granted, you're not there to watch TV, but if you want to relax for a bit and watch the big game, you're better off going to a bar. Too bad we had our young children in tow.

One final detail that was unexpectedly neglected is Internet access. There is no wireless, and only one wired network connection in the entire unit. My wife and I each had our laptops, and this made working difficult for both of us. Also, with no wireless access, your mobile device will quickly gobble up your data plan over whatever cellular network you're connected to. Not a huge issue, but something to consider.

I don't want to pick every nit, because the unit really is very nice overall, but it's the attention to these little details that easily make the difference between liking a place and loving it. Given the amount of care and attention put into the rest of the place, these exceptions are magnified in comparison.

Great Property, Horrible Service from Great Western

Left on 05/06/2010 for a stay in February 2010

We arrived at the condo late on Thursday night. It is a gorgeous condo and was warm inside. Unfortunately the carbon monoxide alarm battery was low so there was an ear-splitting beep every 10 seconds. It took us quite a while to find something to remove the cover with and then go out and get batteries (not taking a chance with my kids). It was a hassle but sometimes these things happen. We noticed the bedding was not as nice as what was shown in the pictures. We had a great time and took care to clean the condo when we left after a fabulous weekend. I got a call from Jeff at Great Western letting me know that the mess we had left in the condo as well as the cost of new bedding would be charged to our credit card. I explained that there must be a mix-up, we did not leave a mess and there was no bedding for us to ruin. He was hateful and rude...insisting we had spilled something red all over the condo. I was in tears by the end of the conversation. He treated me very, very badly. We hung up and I asked my husband if something could have happened after we left. A few minutes later Jeff called back. There had been a mistake and the people before us had left the mess and ruined the bedding (that explains why we had no bedding except for sheets). Jeff apologized and promised to send us a certificate for a discount for a later stay to make up for his mistake. The certificate never arrived. I was planning to use the certificate toward a stay this summer but have decided to never rent from Great Western again, particularly since the certificate never materialized. We are a nice family. We treated the property and the property managers respectfully. We made sure everything was left in very good order and in return we were treated horribly. It was a great property but just not worth it.

      Great Condo

Left on 04/30/2010 for a stay in March 2010

We thoroughly enjoyed the condo we stayed at. The interior was really cool. Hardwoods, tile, stone counter tops and decorating pleased us very much. We like to space this condo had and loved how it had two baths. One with a soaker tube and the other will the tiled shower. We also like how the view was of the woods and not a parking lot. It was a very romantic setting. I surprised my wife by renting this condo and she loved the interior design.

I do have one complant. The mattrice in the bedroom needs to be replaced. It was not good. It felt cheap and worn out. The frame also squeeked bad. For a high dollar condo like this one, the mattrice definitely was not the quality of the rest of the property. Easy fix. Purchase a new quality mattrice.

      I would rent again.

Enjoyed our July stay in the Powderhorn condo. This is the third time we have stayed in the Powderhorn units. It is a great location, on the river, walking distance to a high speed chairlift on the mountain, and easy walk to get to shopping and restaurants on Main Street. Access to the "shared" pool and hot tubs is an added benefit. Parking is available above ground or below in the parking garage.

This condo really is a step above the rest. The common areas are top notch and incredibly relaxing and inviting.

The claw foot tub in the master bath was actually not the best for a shower but the shower in the other bath serviced fine.

The only major drawback to the place is that the mattress needs to be replaced. We "rolled to the middle" and were challenged to stay off the slope.

Everything about our stay at Powderhorn was relaxing with the exception of the bed. It was like a hybrid between an Army cot and a trampoline. The owner of the room clearly put a lot of money into renovations and everything looked great. But then he spent $5 on a bed. Could have been better.

Left on 03/19/2009 for a stay in January 2009

I absolutely LOVED this place. I was so sad to leave when our vacation was over. Amazingly decorated and a great area. It was a little too cold to walk into town (we were there during a very, very cold week) but we made do. I don't have a bad thing to say about this place. Check in was great, very helpful girl at the desk. The house was very well stocked with neccessary kitchen things. We ended up staying home and eating alot because we just loved it there! We couldn't find how to turn the fireplace on when we got there so we called and they were very helpful in helping out with that.
I would definately like to come back to this home, I am thinking about a few days in the summer just to come back to this house!
      Thanks so much!

Left on 12/02/2008 for a stay in November 2007

The condo was beautiful, freshly decorated and handsomely appointed. The location was extremely convenient, as was booking and checking in. That being said, the cooling element in our refrigerator/freezer failed over the weekend and we lost our groceries(it was an unseasonably warm weekend so using the balcony as backup was not an option). Because it was Sunday, we had to wait on site a long time for the repairman to show up. He left for parts and came back(more waiting on site for us). Unable to get the needed part on Sunday, he generously offered and delivered to us 80 lbs. of ice...unfortunately we had to wait and wait for it to be delivered and we ultimately lost our groceries to spoiling overnight anyway. We opted to not spend any more time on this situation although we were told we could write a complaint and request reimbursement.
