Wisconsin Ski Racer
Southeastern WisconsinVery Comfortable!
Left on 04/10/2013 for a stay in April 2013
We spent three nights in this large two bedroom, two bath condo. It is located roughly 40 feet from the Snowflake lift at Breckenridge and has a balcony that faces directly to the lift. It's proximity to the lift made it very easy to get up the mountain first thing in the morning without any liftlines; just ski right on to the chair. At the end of the day, ski right down to the door of the Riverbend condos.
In addition, we loved that it was completely removed from the town of Breckenridge. Don't misunderstand... we could walk to Park Street in 5 minutes and Main Street in 10 minutes. But, it was secluded enough as to not even know the town existed. Besides, it was so quiet and comfortable that there was never any real reason to leave... except to ski!
I've rented from other companies, but I've found over the past three years that Great Western Lodging is by far the most accomodating and reasonably priced (thanks Hillary!!!). As an example, I rented a great trail side condo at Breckenridge off of Peak 9 with a two day notice in January of 2013. I rented this condo at Riverbend two weeks before arrival. And, I'm really glad I did! My advice to you? Rent it. Now! (I'm going to again next season.)

First time to Breckenridge and it won't be the last! 105 was the best all around condo we ever stayed in. The kitchen was set up like home! We felt very at home and hope this unit is available next season. Lift was right out side the door, along with the shuttle stop and ski rental. Location was great. Only down side was the fridge not cooling that great, but with the patio, we had instant cooling. Also upgrade the TV.

TexasBeautiful condo but a little warm
Left on 07/28/2012 for a stay in June 2012
It was a beautiful and very clean condo. It was also at a great location in town. The only complaint we had was the temperature inside the condo. There was no ac and it was a bit uncomfortable at night for sleeping and we are from Texas and are fairly used to the hot weather. We left the windows open at night but it still was uncomfortable sleeping. We purchased a stand up fan (but had to leave it there bc we flew home) and it was much more comfortable. As long as the fan is there I will be more than happy to return. :)

Dear Misty -
Thank you for your review! We always like to hear from our guests and this is great information for us to make sure that our units are getting the attention needed and guest’s are experiencing exceptional customer service.
I have forwarded this on to our Maintenance Department to look into the temperature control issue of the unit, as well as the fan situation. All Riverbend units are to be stocked with a fan in all bedrooms, so I will note that the one purchased will be stored in the unit's closet for all future guests to use, especially for your return stay.
Your review of your stay in Riverbend Lodge #105 is greatly appreciated and please let me know if there is anything I can assist with for your next trip to Breckenridge!

Des Moines, IABreckenridge Summer 2011 rental
Left on 08/17/2011 for a stay in August 2011
We have rented through Great Western Lodging (GWL) for 10+ years. This past spring we rented through Vacation Rentals by Owners (Vrbo) and had a much better experience. Although GWL is good at the paperwork end of things, in the 10+ years we'ver rented through them, I've yet to receive a call while at one of their rentals "to see how the stay is going". When renting through Vrbo, we had a much better experience and I'd probably tend to use them in the future as compared to GWL. With the tight economy customer service is high on everone's list. Gwl customer service is minimal at best.
The condo at River Bend was nice, but dark. Several lights were burnt out (replaced by GWL), the faucet handle had fallen of the master bath shower, the carpets were in need of a cleaning (or replacing), and if there was any staff at this complex, we never saw them.Response from Great Western Lodging - 08/18/2011

Dear Marlen –
Thank you for your review! We always like to hear from our guests and it was great to have you back this year in Riverbend #105! As you are a very long time repeat guest of ours, all of us here at Great Western Lodging want to make sure that your stay with us is a wonderful experience! We are looking into incorporating a “Welcome Call” to all our guests, and we thank you for the information.
I have forwarded the details about the faucet handle and the carpet on to the on-site maintenance staff, Logan, who I understand came in to change the light bulbs, however it sounds like he came in when you were all out enjoying your visit to Breckenridge.
Thank you again for the information on Riverbend #105 and please let me know if there is anything I can assist with for your next trip to Breckenridge!
Sincerely,

Left on 04/13/2011 for a stay in March 2011
It was super-clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed sitting on the porch drinking coffee in the morning and having warm toddies in the afternoon. It had easy access to the Snowflake lift and a great stocked kitchen. We also enjoyed the hot tub and sauna every evening and loved the outdoor grilling area. We definately want to go back!!

The condo was great as well as the location. It was well equipped with kitchen items and towels. We had one issue which Great Western quickly resolved even after hours. Plan to book this condo for other trips. This is my second booking with GW and I am very pleased.

Colorado Springs, COPerfect, except we couldn't controll the heater!
Left on 02/17/2011 for a stay in January 2011
Our stay was absolutely wonderful! We loved the location of the condo we stayed in and the ammenities offered. We only wish that 3 things were different...1.) that we could have regulated the heat better, it went from cold, cold to too hot but it took 6 hours to regulate each way! 2.) that'd we had more extra blankets or throws for the nights where we couldn't regulate the heater well and 3.) that we'd stayed longer to ski more!

North CarolinaGreat Stay
Left on 02/23/2010 for a stay in January 2010
This is 3rd or 4th time with Great Western. Riverbend is located just above a chair lift and an equipment rental shop is located just below the chairlift. Easiest we've ever had it getting rental equipment and to slopes. Plus store kept our boots we wore to the shop during the day and then kept our skis and boots overnight for us to come by and pick up the next morning. super service.
Condo was clean and the beds had good mattresses (not always the case) Condo complex had both an indoor and outside hot tub.....nice.
Parking inside under the condos was a plus. We were there during a down time and condo was mostly vacant..........shop we rented skis from really treated us well......appreciated having some business.
Only negative is that condo is up the hill a bit and we had to drive to town........only 5 blocks, but too cold and slippery at night after skiing to walk to main street. (not really a negative....having ski access and eqt access more than made up for this) -

Excellent. Loved the enclosed garage and the proximity to the slopes.
Check in was a breeze and the condo had everything we needed to enjoy our
stay.
It took a day or two to adjust the temperature (started out very warm), but
that's my only issue. We had a wonderful stay and would recommend you guys
to anyone interested in a great ski vacation. -

Perfect location just off the Snowflake lift. Walk to the lift right out your back door. Watch the lift go right past your living room windows. Very nicely decorated and so comfortable for 2 couples. We would definitely stay in this unit again. Garage parking too!

Left on 12/17/2008 for a stay in March 2007
Stayed here for the first week of March 2007. Went with 4 of my friends and we enjoyed the place very much. Snowflake lift is right out the back of the place and there is also a ski ticket purchase place right there as well. You can ski back down to the place via two different runs, Snowflake is much more of a pain since it is very flat so we used Four O'Clock and just walked across the road. Overall great place and would stay here again.

Left on 11/21/2008 for a stay in August 2008
We spent a wounderfull 6 weeks at Riverbend 105 this past summer. It was fantastice. The unit was well furnished and decorated, and made us feel like we were at home. The on-site fitness center and secured underground parking were a plus. The location was great. Close enough to walk to town but secluded and quiet. This was our second summer spent at Riverbend and we have already reserved the unit for next summer. WE have stayed in other condos in Breckenridge but none have come close to the accomodations at Riverbend.
Here 3 more rentals located nearby.
