This side-gabled three bedroom vacation rental in downtown Breckenridge, Colorado was built in 1882. It has been used as a rental property since 1887. In the 1950s, the home was added onto to expand it from a one-room to a slightly larger home. Then, in the 1970s it was expanded on yet again to include a second story. Callisto's Cottage, a three bedroom Breckenridge vacation rental, can sleep a maximum of six adults and up to eight with kids under the age of ten.
This side-gabled three bedroom vacation rental in downtown Breckenridge, Colorado was built in 1882. It has been used as a rental property since 1887. In the 1950s, the home was added onto to expand it from a one-room to a slightly larger home. Then, in the 1970s it was expanded on yet again to include a second story. The home was then completely remodeled in 2010-2011.
Now called Callisto's* Cottage, the convenience and charm of this home are unbeatable! Located one and half blocks from Main Street in the heart of it all, you are steps to the free ski shuttle, some of Breckenridge’s finest restaurants, historic museums, shopping and only a short walk from one of the most photographed overlooks in town.
Upon walking into the home, you enter the original 1882 structure, which is now an open concept living room with flat screen TV, Blueray, and views of the slopes, a dining room with a bay window located right next to a gas pot bellied stove, perfect for your morning cup of coffee. The kitchen is modern and supplied with stainless steel appliances, an espresso machine and more views of the slopes.
Move on into the 1950s part of the home where the master bedroom is located furnished with a Queen bed, flat screen TV, a large closet and an en suite bathroom. There is also a bright and charming bedroom furnished with full bed, and an adjacent bathroom.
Walk up to the second floor and enter a completely separate area with queen bed on one end, a sitting area with futon couch, flat screen TV, Xbox and breathtaking views of the slopes on the west end, as well as a recliner next to a shelf full of books for your enjoyment.
The home also includes a private 6-person hot tub nestled between buildings for privacy.
Do you have to work while you’re here playing? There is a desk just off the dining room and free WiFi for your use. The good news is that once you’re done checking in on work, you’re only steps to all that Breckenridge has to offer! Come experience this historic mining town in true historic fashion.

We do not require 4WD for this home but we strongly recommend it when coming to Breckenridge as you are in a high alpine environment.
*Callisto according to one myth is the Lady of the Wild Mountains. It is also another name for the Big Dipper constellation. This is apt because among the many great characteristics of this mountain town, the stars shine more brightly in this alpine environment than you can imagine.

I took my family for a Spring Break trip to Breckenridge for some skiing and relaxation. We love Breckenridge and enjoy the town but this house made the trip worthwhile. The service you receive from Bookbreck is very good and the house is in great condition. The house is extremely close to downtown and within walking distance to the ski slopes. We didn't have to use the car once all week! The hot tub was in great condition and was very clean.
We will be coming back here next year. Hopefully more than once! -

Thank you for allowing us to gather in Breckenridge at your lovely cottage. Upon our arrival we found a beautiful, homey, meticulously clean, updated "home." The beds and bedding were extremely comfortable. The hot tub under the stars and full moon was breathtaking. There was nothing additional that we needed to make for a comfortable and convenient vacation. Walking to Main St. was just minutes away. Restaurants and shopping were wonderful. Couldn't have been better!! Everyone agrees. We'll certainly be back. Thank you.

We arrived in Breck late on a cold winter's night in January. The GPS took us straight to Callisto's Cottage and the instructions to get in were straight forward. The house was already warm!
We have stayed in lots of vacation rentals all over the world and this rates with the best. Not only because it was a fine house in an excellent location (right on the blue bus route but also an easy walk to the bottom of the chair), but it had many excellent touches that made the stay so much better.
Little things like individual thermostats for each room so you didn't bake in your sleep, original instruction manuals for every appliance, no need to improvise in the kitchen as everything you need is there.
We had a king bed, my 12 y.o. son had the run of the den upstairs with both children having a queen each. It was luxurious. The only thing extra you get at a resort is access to a hot tub - Callisto's cottage has a massive 4 person hot tub - 102 degrees and the only way to transition between the slopes and the evening.
The markets in Breck are quite expensive, if you can get over to the market near the Gondola, they have everything you could possibly need to a self catered stay as well as a top notch wine selection.
Book Breck were really great to deal with, I'm glad we missed out on our original selection (ski in ski out, but not enough snow to get there). Even though it was in the middle of town it was really quiet.
