Not even close to what we expected...

Left on 03/15/2013 for a stay in March 2013

7 adults stayed here and we thought there would be plenty of space since they advertised it would sleep 10...not. We paid about $3,000/5 nights.

Let me start with the positive comments. The condo itself had a fabulous location if having a ski life close is important to you as it is to us. Just step outside the door walk across the street up 15 steps and you are there. Perfect, Snowflake lift which is an easy run but takes you directly to where you can pick up the blacks and blues. No lines at all! Fantastic! Unfortunately we had to drive to rent skis for a couple that didn't have their own and there is a ski rental place right next to the lift that would have made it so much easier but they weren't covered by the Breckenridge web site. Stupid to say the least.

The condo itself was just ok. Quality of materials used to build the place weren't the best but we survived it. The kitchen has a dishwasher which worked when it wanted, corning cooktop which was a disaster, a microwave and nice fridge. The kitchen is very small so only two cooks...if that. I will say it was very well equipped for cooking. We could barely squeeze 7 people around the table and no we aren't big people at all. The common area was a joke. At best you could fit four there comfortably so we didn't hang out at night together like we would have liked to. We got in at ten in the evening and the pullouts had no sheets, blankets or pillows. There were none in the condo anywhere so we called the emergency number and they brought some over within an hour and a half. The bedrooms (3) were nice. Large enough and the closet in the master was massive and unecessary. The bathroom in the master was large and accomodating. The two bedrooms in the basement were large and nice also. The condo is a tri-level. In the common area is a pullout sofa and off the upstairs master sweet was a pullout. Our son slept on that and after the first night he swtiched to the floor. That pullout was terrible! I checked it out the next day and it indeed was like sleeping on metal, terrible. There were lightbulbs missing from lamps and the lamp in our master suite the whole electrical piece fell out and sparked when we got there so I unplugged and we called the next day. A very nice young man came to fix it and replace bulbs. He said he fixed it and replaced the bulbs. When we turned the lamp on that night again it sparked again and fell apart so we just gave it up. We were also told we could use a brand new pool with three hot tubs. Well you had to drive to it and the first night we went we were told we needed a pass card. Nope, no one told us that so that was a wash that night. All these aggravating little issues rankle you after a while.

We originally had rented The Powderhorn but two days before we got there GWL called and said another family wanted The Powderhorn and they would upgrade us to this spot. We checked it out and thought it looked nicer than The Powderhorn so why not? After reading a review on The Powderhorn recently I guess it's a crap shoot when you rent condos. The Powderhorn had horrible reviews. There is no way in hell you could sleep 10 people here unless you want to be on top of each other all the time. Keep in mind they shoot photos with a wide angle lens which makes everything appear larger and more spacious.

We will be investigating other Condo Rental businesses next time. We go often and it is difficult when you want to be close to a lift.

Response from Great Western Lodging - 04/22/2013

      Great Western Lodging

      Manager

      Dear Massie -

Thank you for your review! We always like to hear from our guests and this is great information for us to make sure that our units are getting the attention needed and guest’s are experiencing exceptional customer service.

I will definitely be noting these items with the owner, especially the dishwasher, cooktop, the need to replace both the upstairs sleeper sofa and lamp in the master suite. I will also follow up with our maintenance and housekeeping departments concerning the lack of sleeper sofa sheets in the closet upon your arrival and the light bulbs that were either missing or not working.

The front desk will also be contacted to ensure that the Pool Keys are provided at check-in for all guests of the Highlander Townhomes. Thank you for noting!

Your review of your stay in Highlander #304 is greatly appreciated and please let me know if there is anything I can assist with for your next trip to Breckenridge!

      Sincerely,

      V. Peyton Rogers
