KansasGreat Place for large family and friends
Left on 11/24/2012 for a stay in November 2012
After an extensive search on which home to rent in the Breckenridge area for the week of Thanksgiving, I finally decided on the Gold Run Lodge. It turned out to be a perfect decision. With 6 adults and 3 small children, we were able to spread out whenever we needed time "alone" or we could all gather together to have family time in the great room on the main level or the game room in the lower level.
We enjoyed the high end appliances in the kitchen which included two dishwashers, double ovens, an oversized refrigerator and two coffee makers. It was great for preparing our Thanksgiving Dinner. The kitchen has very nice dishes/utensils for your use and a drawer that contained some children plates, utensils and sippy cups. If you plan on doing a lot of baking, you might bring some of your own pans, the house only had 2 9x13 pans, one was glass the other metal. An added plus was the Butler's Kitchen which made it very nice for keeping food warm while finishing up dinner. Also in the Butler's kitchen area was a nice selection of board games and cards that we did enjoy.
The bedrooms are all very nice with comfortable beds which included nice bedding. The house had 4 full baths along with 2 half baths, which is another convenience with a large group of people.
The pool table and foos ball table in the lower level was a huge hit with our adults children. It was also convenient to have a little fridge and dishwasher in the lower level also. And the two washer and dryers were an added plus!
I enjoy having lots of windows to look out of and this house did not disappoint. It seemed even on the last day I would still discover new windows that I didn't even notice before.
We really enjoyed the hot tub, but the only disappointment was that we didn't take time to enjoy it earlier in the week.
One of our grandchildren is only 16 months and if we had to do it over, we would bring a baby gate...he seemed to be attracted to the stairs. (Seems most small children are!!)
A couple of hints...their were no dishcloths or tea towels provided for the kitchen, which I thought was a little odd, so bring your own or go buy some like we did. The house only had one roll of paper towels. Also make sure you bring your own laundry detergent for the washer and dryers, preferably the high efficiency type of detergent.
A couple cons: unfortunately my husband has to wear hearing aids so when we all gathered in the great room on the main level, it was hard for him to decipher conversation due to the echoing with the large ceilings. We made by, but it might be something you want to consider if you have someone with the same type of issue. And finally...the driveway...It was snow packed and icy. We drove our large 3/4 ton 4x4 pickup and had difficulty turning the corner on the driveway, to the point you feel you are going to roll off the driveway when you were leaving the house. One of our children had a 2x4 pickup which he ended up parking on the lower part of the driveway and our other son drove their smaller aWD SUV, which worked well on this driveway. Neither of these items were a deal breaker, just a couple cons for us, but in no way took away from how much we enjoyed the home. -

Beautiful, spacious, luxurious in every way! Immaculate in every way. Well stocked gourmet kitchen, big hot tub that could not be resisted, even in frigid temps. Tons of room to spread out and relax, even with lots of people. Plush carpets, warm tile floors, a huge screen TV over a huge fireplace, so you can enjoy both at once! The bathrooms are unbelievable. Incredible jacuzzi tub, large shower with double heads, and grand windows in every room to enjoy the amazing views. I can't wait to go back. It felt like I was in a celebrity's home!

33324Beautiful home, highly recommend
Left on 01/16/2012 for a stay in January 2012
This home is beautiful, and I highly recommend it to others! Once we arrived and relaxed in the hot tub for 5 minutes I felt as though I had already been on vacation for a week. The pictures are accurate, but only capture some of the incredible beauty of the home. and it's location. The house is spacious and provided plenty of room for our group to spread out. It also offered great community areas to gather, play games and of course eat. The home was clean, beautifully decorated and provided all that we needed to enjoy a wonderful getaway. I also enjoyed the location, it's central location allows you to easily access several ski mountains, the bike path, downtown Breckenridge (shopping) and great hiking trails. Thanks so much, I would definitely come again!

This place is absolutely mountain dreamy. There is plenty of room for multiple families to spread out and feel comfortable and then gather around the fireplace and hot tub. My kids loved the special hideaway rooms for play and sledding down the driveway. I loved the upscale ambiance and kitchen appliances complete with everything to use them! Seriously felt like a princess in this warm and cozy home. Highly recommend...this is what one would dream of when they think of Colorado mountain getaway. Perfect!

Denver, COBeautiful home
Left on 01/20/2011 for a stay in January 2011
This home is absolutely stunning. I wish I could live in a place like this. There is a ton of space throughout and it comfortably slept our group of 15. The kitchen is beautiful, the Tv's are huge and the ambiance is very cozy. It's a perfect mountain getaway. The only thing I found strange, was the lack of towels. There are 5 bathrooms and a hot tube, but not enough towels and when we went to do some laundry, there was no detergent. Just a heads up.

ChicagoGreat place for the price.
Left on 01/13/2011 for a stay in December 2010
I would say this is a great house for a group of 13 people. They just added a hot tub which is great thing after skiing. If they had more sofa sleepers they could fit more people but this was fine with our group. Over all we were very pleased with this house. There are tons of pros and only a few cons such as , to park a car into the garage is very difficult since you have to make a sharp U turn around the house and have a few obstacles. I wish they had a pool table or something similar. Other than this the house was great.
Just to point out the house is about 20 minutes to downtown Breckenridge. Awd is a must in the winter time. -

Left on 09/13/2010 for a stay in August 2010
the house was impressive. it had everything you could ever want in a vacation home. the only complaint was no outdoor furniture to sit and enjoy the surroundings.all the appliances were amazing. this was our 1st annual family vacation and it truly was a great time. the little ones had plenty of room to run around in and the big kids had away spaces for them.

ColoradoA Great Breckenridge Summer Experience
Left on 08/11/2010 for a stay in August 2010
Gold Run Lodge was a great house for accommodating extended family. The furnishings are comfortable and bedrooms well furnished. There was plenty of room for the kids to play even with the uncharacteristic rainy weather we experienced during our stay. Nice touches included plenty of kid-friendly plates and dishes as well as many place settings for adults. The kitchen was well-equipped and they even had marshmallow roasting forks for the fire pit out back! Providing washers and dryers on two levels was a nice convenience as were the two dishwashers in the kitchen. Lot was nicely treed and private despite the pine beetle problem. Only downside was lack of an outdoor deck/patio that captured views. We would definitely go back.
