We stayed at another unit in this complex last year, so we knew it was a great location and we liked the separate twin beds for our kids. But the unit overall was neglected. I suspect the owners have not stayed in the unit for quite some time. The beds were very old and very uncomfortable. The dishwasher leaked, so I called the management company. A repair man came in a reasonable amount of time. But he agreed with my assessment that it had been leaking for a while (the wood was warped next to the dishwasher). The carpet was old and warn and there were carpet staples sticking up that my family repeatedly hurt our feet on. There was mildew in the master shower. I would recommend people to try other units in Twin Elk Condos. But not this one. Read more
Thank you for the review. The new owner is in the process of upgrading the property and we have addressed all current concerns.
Great Ski Lodge

The snow wasnt great, but our condo was. Nice and cozy with heated floors and nicely decorated with ski stuff. The beds werent the most comfortable beds I've slept in but I didn't have any back pain either. Overall I would recommend this to a friend and I would certainly stay here again.

The Twin Elk a2 rental was just what we needed for our trip to CO for a family ski outing. Pricing was reasonable, amenities acceptable, and location was great. We could either walk to to gondola if we were feeling energetic (less than 10 minutes), but the shuttle stop on Ski Hill Rd. was super convenient. All in all, a great trip. We loved the Breckenridge feel and the good restaurant variety. Blue River Sports took great care of us for our rentals. Heated garage was really nice when temps were sub-zero. No wi-fi, however.
We booked this condo through VisitBreck.com and the whole process was seamless. The condo was not even a 5 minute walk from town and more than enough space for the whole family. Will be contacting VisitBreck.com again for our next trip into town!

Last minute bid was easy, at check-in they were very helpful with directions and info about the area. The townhouse could use some freshening up as far as bedding and upholstered furniture goes. The shower in the second bathroom was extremely small but would be fine for kids, it's better than just having one bathroom. Location is great, walking distance to town and gondola. The location was what I liked the best, the bedding and bedroom situation was what I liked least.
Great location, easy access to Breckconnect Gondola

Great location, not only to gondola but also to shops and bars on Main Street. The beds were not very comfortable, key card for the front door didn't work. When I called to report a problem it took 3 days to get a call back. There was a shortage of utensils in the house.
Nice location for the village and transport to the slopes.

We enjoyed our time at Breck and the Twin Elk Lodge condo. The condo was as it is described. We cannot give a great review on the beds. All the beds where "adequate" but not as comfortable as I would hope. With the addition of better mattresses, this condo would be a fantastic place.

Stayed at Twin Elk Lodge in February '12. Would stay there again, mainly because of location - so close to Gondola and we finished off at bottom of four o'clock every afternoon which is less than a block walk away. Surprisingly no traffic noise in the unit and view from house didn't make it feel like we were in a 'busy' part of town.
There were just four of us, two adults, two teenage boys. The split levels made the place feel more spacious, although the walls are pretty thin between rooms. Kitchen was clean and nice, a bit sparse on cookware but we managed. The covered garage and door from garage to townhouse was a great feature. Everything worked smoothly, including garage door and shared hot tub (this was a point made in a previous review). Washer and dryer in the unit is a plus. Bathrooms not huge but adequate. There are hairdryers in the unit, just in case anyone is interested.
We've now stayed in four different properties in Breck, and I have one wish for all - update to flat screen tv with hdmi and wifi as standard, would make a huge difference for us all Netflix subscribers.
Other than that, would be happy to choose Twin Elks again.
This place was great location, but the room was less than expect

I think the location was great. This particular unit was in rough shape in that the main thing you want to do there during ski season is sleep, and the beds were very "lived in" and uncomfortable. Also, we froze the first night as the heat didn't work. The second night an owner arrived to stay next door and somehow fixed the heat, however we weren't told floor is what heats the downstairs, so it took us our second night to figure out how to regulate the heat. First night froze, second night hot with windows open tryin to cool off!! I would suggest a short note explaining this system.
Once we figured the heat out by the third night, it wasn't too bad except that the beds we very lumpy and uncomfortable.
Bathroom shower wayyy to small, I'm only a 5'4" and 120 lbs female and I had trouble in that tiny space, can't imagine an average sized man in there!
When on a ski trip, hot tub is something people look for when booking, as I did, it was inoperable the entire time we were there . . ? they really liked to promote the hot tub when booking, but we were there 5 nights and it never worked, nor were we ever updated on its status :(
It was clean, though, and a good location to bus and town. it just wasn't up to the standards we typically like for the money we paid nor was it up to the standards of how it was advertised/promoted.

Visited Breckenridge for 1st time during MLK weekend. Check in was simple, even got an early check in! Condo was perfect for 2 couples w/ no children. Location great, can step outside to Ski Hill Rd. and catch a bus up to Peak 7/8 or down to Peak 9/10. Road 4 O'Clock Trail down and walked a few 100 yards through condo parking lot across street w/ no problem. Hope to visit Twin Elks a2 again!
Garage door did not work and alarm clock next door

While the location is great, the price was good and the appartment was nice, several issues caused me to be dissatisfied. The garage door code did not work and I had to call two times before it was corrected. The other issues was that an alarm clock went off every morning in the unoccupied appartment next door waking us up at 5 am. I asked this to be fixed several times but it was not.

Twin Elks' location is pretty good - you have to bushwhack a trail to ski to it from Skyway, but you can easily walk to the Ski Hill bus stop and catch buses in either direction. And it's a short walk into town.
A2 is comfortable, clean, well-furnished, and fairly quiet (it's very close to Ski Hill road, but you only hear the occasional loud truck). I reported a couple of minor maintenance items: the unit's dishwasher leaks a little (about a cup during a cycle), and the microwave door is broken and has to be pushed up for the microwave to start. Bring your own frying pan, spatula, sharp knife, and cutting board.
We spent fun filled days in Breck and had a great time. We have stayed in a vacation rental lodge before and this lodge would rank in the the top two. The
lodge was closer to downtown than we even expected, just a short walk down the road, and on the riverwalk and surrounded by shops and resturaunts. This was the easiest after hours check in we have ever experienced. Everything was as stated online and the pictures matched the lodge perfectly. The lodge actually seemed larger than reflected in the pictures! We'd definitely recommend this house - especially if you're bringing your mountain bike for the trails. We have already booked for next year!
