BournemouthExellent accomodation and location in the Beacons
Left on 04/29/2012 for a stay in August 2011
We have regularly stayed at Carno for a number of years and are looking forward to our next visit in august 2012.
The accomodation is excellent in a great location in the Brecon Beacons and is ably backed up by the friendly and helpful hosts June and Bob and family.
We have spent many days walking, cycling, rowing and horse riding when in energetic moods whilst at other times just chilling out and doing absolutely nothing or maybe visiting the heritage sites that abound in the valleys towards Blaenavon and Mertyr.
In all highly recommended! -

SalisburyComfortable character cottage in the heart of the Beacons
Left on 04/14/2012 for a stay in February 2012
We liked our stay so much the first time we were back again the following month and have recommended Carno to friends who have also enjoyed the comfortable, very well appointed cottage, friendly and helpful welcome from June and Bob and its ideal location in the heart of the Beacons. It is perfectly situated for walking in the hills either direct from the cottage door or a short drive away. Brecon is close at hand for all you need. The cottage is spotless. There is always plenty of wood for that log fire after a hard day in the hills.

Beaulieu, HamsphireWarm, cosy, welcoming home from home.
Left on 04/01/2012 for a stay in December 2011
Our last stay at Carno was very special, being the base for a surprise engagement at the stunning local waterfall Sgwd Yr Eira. The cottage is quietly tucked away from the bustle of life, but close enough to the main roads to make travelling to any location in the Brecons very quick and easy. Our hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming, a lovely place, we will be back.

HastingsA warm welcome in an beautiful spot, ideal for a relaxing holida

Carno lies literally at the foot of the Brecon Beacons and is ideally situated for a walking holiday - you can walk out of the back door across the fields onto the open hillside.
We stayed at the Carno Farmhouse and the accomodation was very clean with all the facilities we needed. The swimming pool was fantastic, and we made full use of this. The enclosed garden was well-kept and meant we had our litle bit of privacy to sit outside in the sunshine with our dog. June made us very welcome on arrival ensuring we had fresh milk for a cup of tea, and always chatted when we returned from our days walking.
We already knew the area quite well so managed to get a lot of walks to the tops and to the waterfalls. We also visited the Dan-Yr-Ogof showcaves which I recommend. The Mountain Centre is worth a visit and Brecon town centre is only a short drive away.
The only down side, but this was to be expected, was the poor mobile phone coverage.
We fell in love with Carno and didn't want to go home, always a good sign, and knew that we would have to return again soon.
