Description from the owner
A perfect base for rest and relaxation, or for active exploration of the surrounding unspoilt countryside, with walking and cycling from the door. Superb 5 star spacious and luxurious self catering cottage that has been converted from an original 16th century building. Marjorie and Evan have retained the character of the original Stable and Granary and furnished and decorated it to an exceptionally high standard with great attention to detail. Located only 10 minutes outside Brecon, the self catering cottages make an ideal base for couples looking for something a little special.

englandA beautiful location matched by excellent accommodation
Left on 09/22/2012 for a stay in September 2012
We spent a week at the cottage in mid-September, not the best of weather but superb location, welcoming owner and very high standard of provision within the cottage more than made up for the weather! The cottage is superbly presented with every amenity you could possibly require, the immediate surroundings including a patio garden are maintained at a very high standard and are a real credit to the owner. Great location for walking in the Brecon Beacons, some walks available right from the cottage, many others easily accessible with relatively short car journeys. We will certainly be going back.

BirtleyTotally deserving of the 5 star rating

This cottage was beautifully maintained, furnished to an extremely high standard and absolutely nipping clean as my mam would say! The week we had felt like pure luxury from the cream leather settee, the well equipped kitchen including dinky dishawsher to the amazing jacuzzi/whirlpool bath! The layout of the whole property has been very well thought out giving you lots of space both downstairs and up. The maintenance of the outside of the property was also very meticulous with beautiful garden area, plant pots and park benches. An additonal bonus was the inofmration folder that overflowed with useful walking guides saving us a fortune and enabling us to explore the area even more during our stay. The owners were very friendly and helpful and the area suurounding the cottage is ideal for walkers, runners, cyclists, photographers, nature lovers or people who just appreciate stunning views. We will definitely be back.

East Cowes, Isle of WightWonderful base for exploring the Brecon Beacons
Left on 08/04/2010 for a stay in July 2010
This cottage is spacious, beautifully put together and in a wonderful location. My wife and I used this as our base for walking across the Brecon beacons and it turned out to be a master stroke. Returning each day after a long day in the hills, we were able to relax, and enjoy the jacuzzi bath. You could not find a better place to have peace and quiet and we will be returning.

South DerbyshireAnother great week at Bailea
Left on 07/14/2010 for a stay in June 2010
We stayed at Bailea in 2009 and were so pleased with the accommodation and location we decided we had to return this year. The Stable Cottage is beautifully appointed, with everything you could need and all to a very high standard. The location is quiet, with beautiful views, and handy for a variety of walks and days out. Heartily recommended.

ArundelFantastic quiet and comfy cottage
Left on 06/18/2010 for a stay in April 2010
A fantastic, cosy cottage with all the amenities you would expect in a 5-star property for an away-from-it-all holiday. The cottage is large; the bedroom especially is huge with loads of storage and in all very well equipped. It is comfortably warm for those early Spring breaks and has lovely walks from the door. Marjorie is an amiable host and always there if you need her. There are a number of pubs serving quality food within easy reach, our favourite being The Shoemakers in Pentrefelin, about 6-7 miles. Pen y Fan and other peaks in the Brecon Beacon range are within easy driving distance.
Julia and I had a fantastic week and thoroughly recommend staying at Bailea; you won’t find a more comfortable cottage in the Brecon area. We’ll be back!
