ManchesterAwesome apartment!
Left on 02/02/2011 for a stay in December 2010
What a gorgeous and well-placed apartment. We loved the quirky decor, the facilities, the free bubbly and the customer service! We were so close to so many amazing restaurants and bars. And it was really great value.
The only problem was the drunken men banging on the front door almost every night! They were particularly persistant one night - but there is nothing that the staff could have done about this.
If you are planning on staying out late, or are a deep sleeper, should be no problem. -

BedfordshireBrilliant Birthday Weekend at the Birdcage!
Left on 08/30/2010 for a stay in July 2010
We had a fantastic stay - we were in Brighton for my husband's birthday weekend. The house was perfect for a group of 5 or 6, (any more would be a bit tight), the location was very central to shops and bars/clubs (all in walking distance). The house is funky, quirky and fun! It is quite small and cosy, but has everything you need for a short stay. The stairs as mentioned by other guests are extremely steep, I felt I was climbing a ladder at first!! Nevertheless this added to the character/experience of the property and we thought the rest of the house was perfectly decorated and very comfortable. We didn't find the location noisy at all, the only thing we would request next time are fans for the bedrooms as we found them to be quite hot (only small windows!). The other thing I would highlight is the great service I received during our booking, Sophie was extremely helpful, there was a small delay with our check-in time but Sophie made adequate alternative arrangements for us, was very happy with the friendly and prompt service all around. Would definetely stay again and recommend others to do so too!

Tokyo, JapanAll-around great place
Left on 08/25/2010 for a stay in August 2010
We spent a long weekend staying at the Birdcage for a reunion, and all of us really enjoyed staying there. The decor is fantastic, as is the central location. We'd all highly recommend it.
The only caveat I would say is that the pub next door was a bit loud on the Friday night, but the earplugs that were provided eliminated the problem.
All-in-all, good value for a very memorable place to stay. -

Great location to be in the middle of the Brighton Seaside experience. If you like like eating out you are spoilt for choice.
Cottage is very cosy and perfect for family get togethers
a bit noisey late night at weekends, apply caution for those light sleepers

BerkshireQuirky, funky, great location, has everything you need!
Left on 08/06/2010 for a stay in July 2010
Sophie and her team (including Tina) were great throughout the whole booking process and checking in. The house was small but perfectly serviceable for the 6 of us girls who stayed. It was decorated really modern and funky and had everything you needed. The welcome pack gave us everything we needed for the local area and the location of the house was sooo central it was amazing! We liked best the decor, lounge and location. We liked least the stairs (they're very steep but part of the character of the house) and the location being right next to the pub (the free ear plugs made this not interrupt any sleep). All in all, a fantastic find and would definately stay again!

LondonBlissful easter weekend in The Birdcage
Left on 04/16/2010 for a stay in April 2010
The Birdcage is an immaculately decorated cottage tucked down a narrow alley
way in Brighton's deepest darkest lanes yet only yards from the sea. We spent
a fantastic weekend with our friends in this place. The decor in all of the
rooms is spectacular creating a great chilled out vibe to share food, a few
drinks and catch up with those closest to you.

OxfordshireWow! What an amazing place
Left on 02/22/2010 for a stay in February 2010
My husband and I have just returned from a very enjoyable visit to Brighton to celebrate our friends birthday, the highlight of which was our stay in the 'Birdcage' boutique cottage.
Situated down a quite and secluded passageway and yet right in the centre of this fabulous town within the famous Laines, we were just minutes walk from all the pubs, clubs and vast array of chic shops and restaurants, no taxis, no buses required,... brilliant! A real bonus was that we found ourselves just around the corner from Jamie Oliver's new restaurant.
The cottage was stunning and lavishly equipped with all we needed for a long weekend. The decor was truly amazing and beautifully furnished, making it a very warm and cosy and quiet retreat after a days shopping or a night out on the town.
Although there was just four of us, there was room for twice that number. We managed a peep into the 'Smugglers Retreat' next door which looked equally amazing and yet quite different.
My sister is getting married in June and I am going to book both cottages for what will be a hen party to remember. -

londonfabulous boutique cottage
Left on 02/22/2010 for a stay in January 2010
we stayed here for my husbands 40th with a few close friends. Its a very special place with a unique history. We felt like we were in a magical place. The interior is amazing and inspiring but it felt cosy too. The bed was so comfy i wanted to take it home! There are some lovely touches and you feel special staying here. The location is fab-right by the sea and we enjoyed some lovely sea walks and nearby restaurants. The famous and delicious 'Terre a terre', and 'Due South' right on the seafront. If you stay here you are surrounded by restaurants, cafes ,bars and great shopping and night life. We had fun at Komedia. We loved the jewelery shops and galleries nearby and the north laine too, about a 10 min walk away.
After you have been out for the night You feel as if you are coming home to your own secret place!! Its a gem. I really loved the bathroom too-completely amazing tiles!!
Just be careful on the stairs after a few drinks! But thats the nature of a very old building i guess. We will definately be going back we had a really fabulous time there. -

Left on 02/19/2010 for a stay in December 2009
A wonderful stay in this lovely unique cottage.
Situated in the vibrant heart of Brighton close to almost everything, we found the cottage very well equipped, comfortable and cosy. Pubs and restaurants galore, you couldn't ask more from a city holiday experience. this was the first night away from our young twins and will therefore be a very memorable night. Love the style and decoration especially the butterfly wallpaper. . . . The only moan being we didn't stay longer!!!!
Thanks again.
