    Additional Location Information

Turkey's Nest is just 40km (65 miles) from Brisbane city, yet is situated in a relaxing forest setting, surrounded by National Park. Our cool mountain climate makes it refreshingly cooler than Brisbane in summer, and delightfully cold and misty in winter.

From Brisbane – follow either Mt Nebo Rd from The Gap (approx 25km), or Mt Glorious Rd through Samford, to the T-intersection of Mt Nebo and Mt Glorious Roads. Continue another 2km along Mt Glorious Rd to the “Mt Glorious Village” sign. Turkey’s Nest is 300 metres on your right.

This is the way to go camping!

Left on 07/18/2011 for a stay in July 2011

With creatures outside and creature comforts inside, you can't go wrong with this place! If we ever get back to australia, we will try to return to this great retreat (we were there in the cold weather - would love to also visit in the Spring).

Rosemary and Russell are great hosts and are building and maintaining their property with as many sustainable techniques as possible - a great place for all who love and respect the environment! Cell phones and mobile broadband don't work here, so it is easy to leave all of that behind and enjoy the rainforest outside abd the cozy fire inside. The kitchen is well-equipped, so you can stock up at the local grocery and enjoy your meals in the cabin. The "creature comforts" part includes electric bed warmers, which you will appreciate if you go in the winter (and take warm slippers with you - for when you're not taking advantage of the bed warmers)...

One of the very coolest things about staying here is being awakened early in the morning by birds - especially the kookaburras. If you love birds, this will be paradise. Bring your camera!

We've only been gone a few days, but miss this place already!

      Back to Nature Weekend

Left on 07/03/2011 for a stay in July 2011

Thanks very much for a lovely weekend at Turkey's Nest Rainforest Cottage. The welcoming port, chocolates, home cooked muffins and bread, with breakfast ready to be cooked in the morning, made it feel like home. We really enjoyed our stay over the weekend in front of the fireplace, and will be recommending it to our friends. We will be back! It was so restful - just what we needed. We loved feeding the birds. The walks nearby were also very enjoyable - not too difficult.

A wonderful place to relax and unwind

Left on 05/09/2011 for a stay in December 2010

We found the cottage was peaceful and welcoming, and obviously put together with love. What a wonderful place to relax and unwind after a busy year and busy Christmas period. Loved the rainforest setting, the birds and sitting with the cosy fire at night.
