I was made to feel very welcome when I arrived to stay with John and Lou. Accommodation was very comfortable and all facilities were provided. Particularly enjoyed having the pool at my front door!
The location is great so close to the waterfront, which I enjoy, and to all amenities.
I'm fond of the area and John and Lou are terrific hosts.

John and Lou were brilliant - they were so friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend this lovely, clean and spacious apartment which is walking distance from the sea front and public transport. We didn't actually get to cycle anywhere because of the horizontal rain! However, despite the unseasonal weather, we had a great stay here.

      Wonderful Wynnum!

Left on 03/09/2013 for a stay in February 2013

What a fantastic month we've had with the lovely John & Lou in their fabulous home. They are so friendly and ensured we had an amazing holiday.

The bike rides we're so exciting, going through mangroves along miles of lovely boardwalks taking in stunning scenery along the way. We never would have had such an amazing experience back in the UK.

We loved Wynnum as our base for exploring Brisbane. Such friendly and hospitable locals with lots of great places to eat & drink along the very pretty bayside.

We decided to not have the expense of hiring a car, and used the very accessible public transport system which was so easy to use and got us to loads of destinations. We got ourselves a 'Go Card' which you top up with money. It then allows you to travel on the Queensland TransLink system which is train, bus, river cat ferry on the Brisbane river. We would highly recommend getting a Go Card, so easy to use!

John & Lou's lovely family friendly home was a sheer delight to base our month long stay in. They are such gracious, friendly, knowledgable, and helpful hosts. We knew we'd chosen the perfect place to stay as soon as we arrived.

The accommodation was faultless. There were three of us, ourselves and our adult son. There was plenty of room to rest and relax after a busy day sightseeing and exploring. The swimming pool was an added bonus after a long hot day! You have the whole of the ground floor of their beautiful home including the pool which was just perfect. There are excellent facilities in the kitchen, bath/shower room, laundry room, bedrooms, and comfy relaxing lounge. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. Lou always made sure we had plenty of clean, fluffy towels whenever we needed them. Both for the bathroom, and for swimming.

We would highly recommend Brisbane Bay Cycle Homestay. What a fantastic part of the world.

      Thank you John & Lou!

We drove from Melbourne and with Google Maps had no problem finding John & Lou's place. Wonderful, gracious hosts with beautiful self-contained guest accommodation with lovely pool & outdoor BBQ facilities, overlooking Moreton Bay. We elected self-catering and the kitchen facilities were great. Also had a dinner with fine wines with Lou & John - Lou's a great cook. Very interesting people - been everywhere, including extensive cycling in Europe.

We went on a couple of cycling days, using their bikes and maps on recommended routes around Moreton Bay - very scenic with islands in the distance. Good cycle paths along the water's edge for miles, varying from Mangrove swamps to beaches. John will come & pick you up, if you go too far and get tired! We recommend a day trip cycling around Coochie Island - a short ferry ride - great beaches (at high tide!). Very relaxing.

A short walk to the station takes you into the heart of Brisbane with its many attractions. Apparently, you can take your bikes free on the train, outside rush hour, so you can cycle around Brisbane, over the bridges etc. Lou & John can tell you more - we didn't have time.

Very relaxing and friendly and convenient to Brisbane and the Bay - with cycling thrown in!

Fantastic hospitality from our hosts and unforgettable cycling e

Left on 03/07/2012 for a stay in November 2011

We escaped the winter back in the UK looking for sun, sea and some cycling. Here we found all we wanted and more. Lou and John's hospitality was generous, their advice on routes perfect and the self contained accommodation private, comfortable and spacious. The pool right outside the living area and the sea views were the icing on the cake.
Their base in Wynnum was ideal for exploring both central Brisbane and the coast and islands just off the mainland. Brisbane is making an effort to become more cyclist friendly so we were able to make the most of marked cycle ways and stay off any busy routes.
Lou and John's catering was delicious and we have fond memories of sitting on the balcony looking onto the Pacific sipping a good white Riesling. Happy Days!

If you are more of a do it yourself holiday person and enjoy niche and independent offerings then this is for you. We also found John and Lou really helpful in advising us on general travel arrangements, which made life so much easier!

A new experience, cycling boardwalks over mangrove swamps! Early morning breakfast on the coastal road to Wellington Point

An unforgettable stay on Moreton Bay

Left on 03/05/2012 for a stay in February 2012

I loved every minute of my stay at Brisbane Bay Cycle Stay. The home is spacious, spotless and modern without being formal or pretentious.Guest accomodation is downstairs which means having the wherewithal to be part of the family or self contained. It also means being able to wander out into a subtropical garden and dive straight into a beautiful pool. Being high above Moreton Bay ensures fantastic sun and moon rise views and a refreshing breeze at all times. But best of all is the service. Lou and John are friendly, relaxed and welcoming, and Lou's cooking is divine.

This holiday would be ''up there'' with the best. .

Left on 02/15/2012 for a stay in January 2012

Upon arriving we felt we were ''at home'' with Lou and John's hospitality. Their hospitality flowed on to the delicious meals, adequate in size and the variety of wines that we ''sampled'' were nothing short of generous.
There was a character and atmosphere about our surroundings that made us totally relax particularly in the evenings sitting on the balcony taking in the most amazing sunsets, after a big day on the bikes.
In our opinion, there would be nothing we would change except a longer stay with our delightful host and hostess who we might add, were so helpful when it came to local knowledge and venues for our bike treks. Thank you Lou and John. We will return.
