WarringtonA very enjoyable and comfortable stay.
Left on 04/07/2013 for a stay in March 2013
I really felt at home during my short stay over Easter. In fact, on the way up the stairs I bumped into an old class mate who was getting some rest at her sister's flat on the floor below!
What I really liked about the stay was the view from the window. You could sit all day and watch the views change, from the waves crashing under your window, to the surfers battling the waves and to the joggers and dog-exercisers, not to mention a horse and cart on the beach once the tide had gone out. Then later you could watch the sunset and do it all over again the next day.
The flat itself was intimate and clean, although we couldn't get much in the way of hot water outside of the shower.
Nonetheless, I had an enjoyable stay and would stay again.Response from Dr D Cooke - 05/08/2013

The problem with the water heater has been resolved by replacing a part in the water tank. Luckily the booster button still heated the tank and the shower heats the water as it's used.

Beautiful apartment with unbeatable view of the sea from the comfort of the sofa. Very clean and with all mod cons.
We only have one small issue, we found it difficult to warm the bathroom and also to get hot water for a bath/washing up. The shower was good though and the beds comfortable.Response from Dr D Cooke - 03/27/2013

We'll look at the hot water heating timer as it should come on to provide enough hot water. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Left on 08/31/2012 for a stay in August 2012
We know the area very well, but this is our first visit to St Brides Bay View apartment.
The apartment itself is very clean, comfortably furnished and fully equipped with just about anything you could want. Being frontline and on the third floor (no lift) the view over Broadhaven beach and beyond is simply stunning.
The only drawbacks are the narrow stairs and the fact that the second bedroom is only large enough for bunks and hence only really suitable for up to 12 year olds!
The owners are very professional and accomodating so if you have 2 young children or go as a couple, then you will not be disappointed. -

Clean spacious accommodation which was very well equipped like walking in and using someone's cherished home. Fantastic view of the sea and fresh sea air. Very quiet at night and comfortable beds so slept well. Location fabulous for families. Pub, shop and car parking but no amusement arcades or drunkenness. Immaculate swimming beach with the added safety of lifeguards.I think we will return time and time again. A real rest for adults and kids alike. Price competitive. I do not like to give a downside. But not suitable for people of below normal fitness as 3 floors up and no lift. Not a problem for us and was spelled out in the advert. Wonderful holiday and we will return.

We were impressed with the apartment and facilities in it. The view out of the window was like looking out of a cruise ship window. A good location to travel to places and the chance to go by bus if wanted. Lovely walk to Little Haven either via beach or road. Choice of places to eat or nice fish & chips. Lovely and relaxing overall holiday excellent just make sure you save up for spends as Pembrokeshire is expensive!!

Left on 07/23/2012 for a stay in July 2012
Very clean and well equipped apartment with a feeling of light and space. The centrepiece, quite literally, being the lounge window with a panoramic view of the sea and Broad Haven beach. The only drawback are the three floors of stairs to climb, but it's a small price to pay for that view, and to be able to walk out of your door, cross the road and be on the beach!

Wirral, MerseysideExcellent views, cute, cosy modern flat, great beach, wonderful
Left on 07/10/2012 for a stay in May 2012
We stayed in this flat at the end of May 2012 - the second time we'd rented it, having stayed there just last year. We love it there. Our opinion of Pembrokeshire, and specifically Broad Haven is impossibly high. The beach is so picturesque from the front window of this flat that you sometimes think it might be a mural, until you open the window at high tide and the sound of the sea fills the room. While access to it is difficult for those who wouldn't fancy climbing 40+ stairs to get to it (no lift) it also makes one feel that the frenetic life of a busy holiday beach is far below. The beach is clean and the restaurant (The Ocean Cafe & Bar) is casual yet excellent; the staff there remembered us. If this location was anywhere else in the world, the entire town would have been developed beyond recognition.
The flat itself is great. There is a washer/dryer, a dishwasher - mod cons and the overall impression is clean and bright with lots of fresh air and quiet neighbours. We had trouble with the lock on the first day, and a gent sitting outside - I'm assuming a permanent resident - offered to help. There are a well appointed master bed, an L-shaped sofa in the lounge and 2 bunkbeds in a second bedroom for children. The only drawback to the accommodation this year was a funny smell in the children's bedroom... hopefully only stinky socks? We didn't use this bedroom, but if we had had to use it, it might have been a problem.
However, I can't say enough about this part of the world. We took the ferry over to Skomer Island and spent a day with the puffins, razorbills and guillemots. Being able to see this many beautiful birds among the cliffs and profuse wildflowers is nothing short of miraculous. We also took a boat trip to Grassholm - covered with huge prehistoric-looking gannets that can soar only inches above the waves. We visited Solva and a number of castles, too, but unfortunately review can't be longer!

A very comfortable apartment with everything you could need. Close to amenities and fabulous walks. Beautiful views out to sea. Would certainly recommend this as a place to enjoy a relaxing holiday. If you aren't keen on climbing stairs it's not for you as there are over 40 steps but it kept us very fit.

Porthyrhyd, null, United KingdomA great apartment with the best views in Broad Haven
Left on 05/15/2012 for a stay in May 2012
Booked as a last minute weekend break. Normally these last minute breaks turn into a bit of a nightmare but not this time.
The apartment was clean, tidy and exactly as described (which is a bonus in my book!)
The owner was really helpful with e-mail instructions before we arrived and getting into the building didn't cause any problems.
It helped that we arrived at 5pm and with a directly West facing window looking out directly over Broad Haven beach the view was an instant de-stresser after a tough week in work.
Just sat on the sofa for 20 minutes take the panoramic view in.
Anyway the more practical stuff. The apartment is well equipped for cooking and keeping two young kids entertained both inside and out.
Shower hot and reasonably powerful. Bed comfy for me. Would say it was a medium mattress.
Personal car parking space outside and I had space to park an additional car (not sure this extra space would be the case high season).
Only possible downside I can think of would be the 50 or so stairs you need to go up to get to the apartment. Might not be great for elderly or those who have difficultly walking. Didn't cause us any problems though with a wife who packs for double the stay and a 5 and 3 yr old.
Broad Haven itself as a village I don't think has the same sort of character as it neighbour Little Haven but that's just my personal opinion.
I didn't think that the two pubs in the village were up to much either, and again Little Haven pubs offered more choice. Call me snobby but I found the clientele in the Broad Haven pubs a bit chavvy. Anyway the walk to Little Haven is not much more than 10 minutes along the beach.
The beach at Broad Haven though is definitely the better of the two and long, shallow, clean with plenty of sand.
This apartment is a real good find and we would definitely return. -

Left on 03/19/2012 for a stay in March 2012
We stayed here for a weekend. Friday 16th March to Sunday 18th March 2012. This is the second time we have stayed and i'm sure won't be the last.
The apartment is situated on the third (top) floor of an apartment block that is very well kept and clean. It has just been repainted outside. There is no lift in the block, this did not bother us at all but could present a problem for anyone with mobility issues.
The apartment is clean and tidy and I would recommend it to anybody. Particularly ideal for little families.
The living room has a window that overlooks the beach and provides you with a stunning view that is hard to move yourself away from! The kitchen is part of the living room which allows you to be part of things when cooking if you are bothering to when you are on holiday. The kitchen is well stocked with all you need in a kitchen from plates and cups etc to pots pans etc. There is a dishwasher and a washer dryer...useful with a small family.
Lots of books, dvd's and playstation games have been provided for use which are all in good condition. There is also lots of info on local attractions, particularly information on coastal path walks and bus timetables etc...all useful info.
Double bedroom with wardrobe and chest of drawers - nice, clean and comfortable
Second Bedroom - With bunk beds and wardrobe and a bookcase stocked with plenty of toys, lego story tapes etc - nice, clean and comfortable
Bathroom - Bath and Shower over - Clean
There is a bar directly below the block that provides Wifi access. It does snacks day and night. A Londis store 2 mins walk that has all the essentials and a Pub 2 mins walk called The Galleon that does lovely pub grub fairly priced and OK for kids.
The beach is great! Clean and not too busy with plenty of little rock pools and caves for the kids to explore. It is approximately 20 metres from the front door of the apartment so you simply could not be closer.
Broadhaven is a nice little base for exploring lots of places such as St Davids, Barafundle Beach, Bosherton Lily Ponds etc etc.
We enjoyed our stay. No problems at all either time. -

Excellant apartment, very well decorated and all equipment in full working order unlike another apartment in same block we stayed in last year. Feels very spacious with windows front, back, side and a roof skylight. Lovely view from the enlarged picture window.
We were lucky enough to meet a seal pup close up on Druidston beach washed in after high winds, he stayed for ten minutes then managed to scrabble back into the sea. -

Lovely apartment, very well equipped, perfect for families of four. My two children had a great time indoor with all the toys, books and dvd's and outdoor with the beach on their doorstep. (Ages 3 and 5). The apartment is very nicely decorated and comfortable and has all you need for a week's holiday. The area is beautiful with plenty of places to visit. Broad Haven is family friendly and Little Haven is quaint and picturesque. We will definately return!!

Fantastic location less than a minutes walk from an amazing beach. 5 minutes walk from Puffin Coastal bus which is perfect to start/ return from coastal path walks at different points. Wonderful, constantly changing, breathtaking views of sea and sunsets from living area. Accommodation extremely clean and well equipped. Bunkbeds in second bedroom ideal for families but slightly challenging for adults! On third floor but didn't cause any problems. Next door to a handy cafe/ restaurant with good coffee! Good and prompt response throughout booking process etc

Located on the sea front at Broad Haven, with a view overlooking St Brides Bay. A small supermarket, two pubs, a cafe/bar are close by. It is ideally situated for walking or just a beach holiday. We loved being able to relax, eat meals and enjoy the sea view. Access was not a problem for us, but the appartment is situated on the third floor without lift access. -

The apartment was fantastic - wonderful location, very clean, everything you needed was there! The description on the Internet was totally factual. To sit on the lounge and watch the tide come in and out and hear the soothing sounds of the sea was heavenly! Plenty of good eating places nearby. Wallasey, MerseysideDramatic Sea Views in a Cosy yet Stylish apartment
Left on 05/14/2011 for a stay in April 2011
Stayed there as we were "homeless" between house moves, and had always wanted to visit the puffin-filled isle of Skomer after hearing about it. Arrived exhausted and traumatised, left relaxed and happy. Apartment is neat as a pin, comfortable, with a lovely L-shaped leather sofa, comfortable beds, clean kitchen stocked with modern dishes and cutlery. The 40+ stairs to get to the apartment are well worth it for the views out the large lounge window. When the tide's in, you see nothing but sea to the horizon, dotted with ships and small islands. When the tide's out you get a lovely view of the fine-sand beach and can watch horses and bathers. The height makes you feel like you're watching a dream sequence, but the sea is close enough that opening any window on a nice day will lull you with the sound of the surf. The sunsets over the sea were stunning every evening. The restaurant in the building next door served local fish done to a turn, and its attached pub was friendly, and had a nicely kept cask ale available. The beach has terrific rock pools at low tide and there are walking paths up the cliffs along the shore. This is a terrific, well kept secret, as the area is not tremendously built up and the bay is small but perfect. I would visit again in a heartbeat and stay in the same place and pray for sun. The visit to Skomer did not disappoint - isle is covered in bluebells in spring, and the puffins, razobills and guillemots were amazing to watch. Went back to the Wirral to pull our belongings out of storage and move house, but it seemed somehow trivial after this trip.

Left on 10/03/2010 for a stay in August 2006
We spent a lovely seaside week with our kids (4 and 9) in this bright and comfortable apartment. We were alll stunned by the view across Broadhaven beach from the front window, and the kids loved the fact that the beach was really only a minute away! (No more "are we there yet"s) The apartment is clean and well furnished, and has everything a young family needs, including a thoughtful mix of Dvds for the wet days that you occasionally get in West Wales (!) It's worth coming just to sit in front of that view with a glass of wine and watch the sun go down in the west. Thoroughly recommended.

Left on 09/29/2010 for a stay in July 2010
We had booked the apartment on the basis of the video on the website and provision of all mod cons for a family of 5 (washing m/c, fridge, freezer, TV, DVD, Play station, shower etc) with the location close to a beach.
However I was not ready for how spectacularly better the the apartment was and that the beach really was on the doorstep (10 metres away). The apartment and furnishings were beautiful and the amount of space was substantially greater than anticipated from the website video. However, the one feature that captivated us all was the stunning front window, which gave a fantastic panoramic view across the whole of St. Brides. Even the children understood when we said "look at the amazing views".
The pleasant surprises did not stop with the apartment, with the beach just 10 metres away, the children could go on the beach when ever they wanted to. We could even just pop back to make a coffee and take it back onto the beach.
The beach was also perfect for the children. Loads of sand to play on and the sea was perfect for swimming, body boarding or just messing around in (my children are aged 8-14), we even hired ocean canoes for an afternoon.
When you want a break from the beach there is plenty to do, we even visited a chocolate factory.
We would highly recommend Dr Cooke's apartment as a Jewel hidden away beautiful Pembrokeshire coast line. We will certainly be going back again next year. -
