An idyllic retreat for couples looking to spend some relaxing time in each other’s company, Oaktree Cottage is set in the picturesque, rural village of Broadwoodkelly, close to the North Devon coast. Oaktree Cottage has been lovingly restored to offer accommodation for two people. The living area is laid out in an open-plan style and wood floors and oak stairs add a depth of character to this already charming property. Oaktree Cottage has a shared garden, offering ample opportunity for a spot of outdoor dining during the hazy summer evenings. There is off-road parking for up to two cars, and the local pub and shops are just three miles... away.
Amenities: Oil central heating. Electric cooker, microwave, fridge, TV, DVD player. Washing machine and tumble dryer in shared utility room. All fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Cot available on request. Off road parking for 2 cars. Shared use of garden. Pets by arrangement. Shop and pubs 3 miles. Note: Unfenced pond on site, children must be supervised at all times. Note: Water supply is from a bore hole.
Region: Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?
Town: Broadwoodkelly was originally the home for local farm workers and is mentioned in the Domesday Book. In the centre of the village is a 13th Century church which boasts many interesting features, including a Wagon Roof in the porch with decorated bosses. The organ previously belonged to Lord John Thynne and came from the Cloisters of Westminster Abbey. While Broadwoodkelly is still mainly a quiet rural village, it does have village events during the year, including sports days, garden open days, and village gatherings. The village is well-served by a number of country walks and there is excellent fishing to be found in the nearby rivers and streams. Okehampton is just 8 miles from Broadwoodkelly and from there you can explore the rugged beauty of Dartmoor. Alternatively, if you want sun, sand and surf, the stunning North Devon Coast is just a short drive away.Read more

The owners were very welcoming, tea on our arrival, the freedom to go where we wanted. The cottage is beautifully furnished, and has a good stock of kitchen utensils, the bed is sooo comfortable, we loved the ducks on the lawn in the mornings, and the owl hooting in the tree in the evening. Taking our dog with us presented no problem, plenty of walks. We enjoyed the Kings Head at Winkliegh, great food! A trip to Bude, a lovely beach. We loved it all.. Will go again next year.

My husband and I stayed here in July 2011, the owner made us extremely welcome on arrival and was always on hand if we needed anything. The gardens are spacious & tranquil with plenty of space to roam - and we enjoyed a thoroughly relaxing week pottering round at our own pace.

Had a wonderful week here with husband and dog. Welcomed by owner with tea and biscuits on the front terrace. The venue was superbly comfortable and owner was available but not intrusive. Thoroughly recommend this place to anyone (actually we already have!!) We will be returning.
