Description from the manager
The Monkey Place farm cottage is superb with views that will take your breath away. It was originally built as a returned serviceman's grant from the Boer War and as such is just shy of 100 years old. The farm was once a small dairy but is now a part of Fordwich Estate, a 100 acre working vineyard which has produced several trophy winning wines.
The working vineyard also boasts a 9 hole golf course which was designed and built by Merv Hayward from Cypress Lakes. The course was recently featured in Australian Golf Digest magazine and was titled "a dream backyard" and the course is yours for your private use as a guest.

MiamiThe Perfect getaway
Left on 10/05/2012 for a stay in September 2012
Just back from 4 nights at Monkey Place Farm Cottage - what a great place to be able to relax, reconnect with the family and just unwind away from the stress of everyday life. The biggest benefit - no Internet and limited cell phone reception meant no excuses to try and keep in touch with the office. Conversation with my kids was via mouth not text.
Loved sitting on the verandah chatting and looking out over the fields and enjoying a glass of wine watching the sunset. Enjoyed our morning walks through the vineyards and our daily drive out to surrounding farms and attractions.
If I didn't live half way around the world I would be here every few months for that getaway to regenerate the batteries.Response from Stays in the Vines and Australia Stays - 11/16/2012

Monkey Place Farm is a fantastic property, in beautiful surroundings. There were lots of thoughtful touches. Both the decor and gardens were in perfect keeping with the cottage, it looked like thought had been put into all aspects.
There we farm animals for my toddler to look at, safe gardens to explore & a gated verandah to keep him safe.
We left feeling totally relaxed and refreshed, although we wished we could stay longer! -

When I booked Monkey Place Farm Cottage through "Events and Stays in the Vines" Jenni and Rebecca told me that we would love the cottage and would not be disappointed. They were not wrong. If getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city is what you are after then MonkeyPlace Farm Cottage is the place to go. It offers the peace and seclusion craved by many without having to give up any of the mod cons. The gourmet kitchen was a particular delight to my partner who revelled cooking up a feast in it. Waking up in the morning and looking out over the vineyards and scenic hills was a wonderful way to start the day. We will definitely be back and cannot wait to tell all our friends about it.

We stayed here and just loved the property. Best thing was that gorgeous Fireplace! And to our delight it was already set with kindling & paper when we arrived. What a gorgeous cottage!! And the location is beautiful & very convenient if you are touring the wineries of Broke!
