Newcastle under LymeGreat Week in Brooklyn
Left on 04/21/2013 for a stay in April 2013
Rented the 2 bedroom apartment for a family visit to NY in early april and was very pleased with the accommodation which was more than ample for four adults. All necessary services are close by and easy access to Manhattan.Having stayed in Manhattan on previous visits I found this apartment superior in value for money and in being able to get a nights sleep. The owner lives in the ground floor and was very helpful without being intrusive and added a sense of security.Overall no problems and would be happy to stay again.

SwedenA different part of New York
Left on 11/07/2011 for a stay in November 2011
We decided to stay in Brooklyn for two reasons. One ofcourse being the price and the second to see more of the city, more than Manhattan that is. We also decided on an appartment as we are a family with three kids and finding an hotel that would fit us all in one room is not easy.
We loved our appartment in Jefferson avenue. It was a bit smaller than we thought, but very well furnished and equiped with everything we needed. Beds were comfortable and kitchen was perfect for our needs.
The subway and supermarket is really only two minutes away and there are serveral trains that take you into Manhattan. The ride on the subway was easy but a bit longer than we thought, but it did not hinder us in anyway.
Emma (the owner) is very helpful, has lots of information (including guidbooks in the appartment and in the entry hall). She was also very easy to get in touch with when we had questions.Response from yournycvacation - 11/13/2011

Please note that the apartment is 650 square feet in a city where a hotel room is typically 150 square feet including the bathroom!
It's exactly 20 minutes on the subway from Franklin Avenue in Brooklyn to West 4th street (Greenwich Village) in Manhattan. -

My husband and I traveled to NYC with our family which consists of an adult son, a 12 yr. and 9 yr. old.
This rental was very clean, cozy and more than sufficient for all five of our needs. It is located two blocks away from the subway and grocery store. The subway takes you into Manhattan in 10 minutes.
Emma was very helpful with subway information. What a great deal! It beat paying Manhattan prices for 5 people and we came "home" to a quiet block and slept well after exhausting exploration of NYC.

We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment for 10 days. We had a great time and enjoyed the stay in Emmas home. Thank you very much Emma! The apartment is comfortable, clean and close to lots of things you need.(Metro, Supermarket...) After sightseeing tours it is always a pleasure to come back "home" to Brooklyn and enjoy the silence.

September 2010:
I rented one of the apartments with 3 other friends for 11 days and we had a wonderful stay.
The apartment was spotless and can easily accommodate 4 adults in the two bedrooms. We got fresh towels and clean sheets every 3 days from Emma.
It's ideally located with Franklin metro station (A-C and E lines) just 5 minutes by foot. The neighborhood is clean, the people are very friendly and we never felt unsafe. On the second day of our holiday we were even invited to the neighborhood BBQ. Unfortunately we had already made plans for the day.
Emma was very helpful in arranging transport and giving dinner recommendations. There is a great Thai restaurant 4 minutes away by foot who also do excellent sushi rolls. I can't remember the number of times we went to get sushi at 22:30h as a late night snack. Also nearby is a 24 hour laundromat who do full service including folding for a reasonable price (15 lbs of clothes for 11.90 U$D). Dropped of at 08:00 and picked up at 23:00h.
So, it's clean, it's comfortable, it's very affordable and the location is excellent. Would I come back? Absolutely!
Thank you Emma for a great stay. -

Sydney, AustraliaGreat stay in Brooklyn!
Left on 02/03/2010 for a stay in December 2009
My sister and I rented this apartment for a 10 day stay in Dec. 2009, over Christmas. The apartment was easy to find as it is closely located to a number of subway stations servicing different lines. This also makes it an incredibly convenient location to stay if you wish to explore all that New York City has to offer. The apartment was clean and was a comfortable 'home' for the period we stayed, having all amenities we needed either within the apartment or nearby. For example, there is a laundromat, supermarkets etc. just around the corner. The area itself felt safe to stay in also.
Emma, the homeowner, was fantastic and a great help to us during our stay. The only negative is that if there are noisy people in the apartment above you you can hear them.
Overall a fantastic experience for us as our first vacation rental. We would stay here again.
