This charming and spacious one bedroom apartment is located on a quiet block in the heart of the historical section of Stuyvesant Heights, Brooklyn. The apartment is on the second floor of an owner occupied brownstone and it was recently renovated and fully furnished. The owner is an Italian woman from Florence, Italy with 20 years experience of New York (yes, we speak Italian!). Roberta is on hand to give advice about the neighborhood, make recommendations and give directions.

The apartment has a queen... sized bed (UK king) in the bedroom as well as a through room with a sofa bed that can sleep an additional two people. (There are separate doors to each bedroom) It is very comfortable for 4.

Lots of the original details such as stained glass skylights, fire place mantels and moldings were saved during the renovations. The living room and kitchen windows face the building's backyard that was also upgraded with a patio and lots of planters and flowers. The visitors will have access to the unit from an independent entrance, completely separate from the owner's apartment.

Questo grazioso e spazioso appartamento si trova su un tranquillo isolato nel cuore dello storico quartiere di Stuyvesant Heights a Brooklyn. L'appartamento e' al secondo piano di una casa privata che e' occupata dalla proprietaria ai piani inferiori. E' stato recentemente rinnovato e completamente arredato.

La proprietaria, Roberta, e' Italiana (Toscana, per l'esattezza) e vive a New York da 20 anni. Conosce l'intera citta' benissimo, parla Italiano perfettamente ed e' sempre a disposizione per suggerimenti e informazioni. Lenzuoli e asciugamani sono forniti, e, nel caso di lunghi soggiorni, e' previsto un cambio settimanale. Il servizio internet/wi-fi e' compreso nel prezzo.

L'appartamento ha 2 letti matrimoniali, uno nella camera piu' grande e uno (tipo futon/divano letto) nello studio piu' piccolo (den). Le due stanze hanno porte separate. E' un appartamento che puo' ospitare comodamente fino a quattro persone. C'e' inoltre un salotto con area pranzo, divano e televisione. La cucina e' separata ed e' fornita di stoviglie e utensili. L'appartamento ha accesso separato.

Molti dettagli storici sono stati mantenuti durante il rinnovo dello stabile (stucchi, cornici delle finestre, lucernari) per conservare lo stile originale di questa tipica costruzione newyorkese chiamata "brownstone."

(Per vostra informazione, il dipartimento delle Belle Arti di New York sta passando una legge che dichiarera' questa parte di Brooklyn "centro storico.") L'appartamento e' situato ad un isolato da Stuyvesant Avenue dove si possono ammirare alcuni tra i piu' interessanti esempi di architettura newyorkese della fine dell'Ottocento; questo quartiere era infatti, all'epoca, il quartiere di residenza di molti commercianti Europei, in particolare Olandesi e Italiani.

La linea A della metropilitana e' a cinque isolati di distanza (10 minuti a piedi.) In caso di necessita', l'autobus raggiunge la statione della metro in un paio di minuti (fermata sull'angolo.) La linea A raggiunge Manhattan in circa 20 minuti. La prima fermata e' nella zona di Wall Street/Ground Zero, seguita da fermate nel West Village, Chelsea, Time Square, Columbus Circle/Central Park, Harlem. Additional Location Information

The apartment is located only 5 blocks from the subway station and only 5 stops from downtown Manhattan on the express A train, that also guarantees easy transfers to and from JFK airport. The area offers Zagat rated restaurants (Saraghina/Italian, Peaches/Southern-American) and other entertainment facilities such as Therapy Wine Bar, Liquid Oz Cafe and Saraghina Italian Style Coffee Shop. There is a local supermarket plus convenience stores on almost every corner. We are very close to the shopping strip on Fulton Street that offers more markets, banks and a large variety of products, restaurants and bars. The historical tree-lined Stuyvesant Avenue (1 block,) McDonough Avenue (2 blocks) and Decatur Avenue offer some of the best examples of Brooklyn architecture from the late 1800's (brownstones and mini mansions.) The Brooklyn Botanical Garden, the Brooklyn Museum and the wonderful Prospect Park are also very easy to reach via subway.

  El apartamento está bastante bien, todo muy nuevo y a tan solo 5 minutos andando de la estacion del metro. Bien comunicado pues esa linea te lleva a manhattan directamente.
  El barrio no está mal y hay varias tiendecitas cerca para poder comprar.
  Roberta la propietaria nos atendio fenomenal.

  Mi hermana y yo viajamos desde Costa Rica a New York y seleccionamos este apartamento por dos motivos: las fotos y las buenas recomendaciones. Resultó un éxito!
  El apartamento es cómodo, está bien equipado y limpio. El metro está cerca y hay varias tiendas cerca, además es un vecindario tranquilo.
  En nuestra visita anterior tambien rentamos un apartamento pero nunca vimos a nadie ni conversamos con nadie. En esta ocasión Roberta marcó la diferencia. Nos recibió cálidamente a pesar de la hora en que llegamos, ella estuvo siempre atenta a ayudarnos y se preocupó de que tuviéramos lo que nos gustaba para el desayuno.
  Es un excelente sitio para quedarse durante su visita a NYC, ideal si uno llega al aeropuerto JFK porque queda muy cerca en el metro. Roberta es una excelente anfitriona y eso es siempre muy importante cuando uno no está en su país.
  Lo unico que les recomendaría es llegar de día eso facilita mucho ubicarse y es es válido para cualquier sitio al que vayan.
  
  My sister and I traveled from Costa Rica to New York and selected this apartment for two reasons: the photos and good recommendations. Was a success!
  The apartment is comfortable, well equipped and clean. The metro is close and there are several shops nearby, plus a quiet neighborhood.
  On our previous visit also rented an apartment but we never saw anyone or talked to anyone. This time Roberta made ??the difference. We were greeted warmly despite the time we arrived, she was always careful to help and worried that we had what we liked for breakfast.
  It is an excellent place to stay while visiting NYC, perfect if one arrives at JFK airport because it is very close to the subway. Roberta is an excellent hostess and that's always important when you're not at home.
  The only thing I would recommend is to get that during the day much easier to locate and is valid for anywhere you go.

  La Mejor Manera DE Disfrutar NYC

  Fue una muy agradable experiencia. Hemos visitado nyc desde hace mucho tiempo, muchas veces, pero esta es la primera vez q no llegamos a un hotel. Mi esposa y yo estuvimos la primera semana dic-2012 en el apt propiedad de Roberta y afortunadamente todo fue mejor de lo que esperabamos. El apt esta impecable: la habitacion principal grande, iluminada y bien distribuida, con buen closet; la hab aux con mas closets la usamos como vestier; la salita con comodo sofa y TV y comedor con ventanas al patio; la cocina bonita, al dia y bien equipada; y el baño muy limpio y con buena ducha. La siempre amable Roberta te ofrece tips para aprovechar el transporte publico. En la esquina, a media cuadra, tienes paradas de bus para ir este-oeste y para ir norte-sur. A minutos de nyc y en una calle tranquila y silenciosa. De nuevo, gracias por todo Roberta.

  We had an unforgettable staying in this appartment. Better than all the descriptions above,we were positively surprised. Clean, clear and full-equiped.
  Roberta is so kind and helpful; it's so relaxing to know she's near without being intrusive. We had the feeling to be at home and that makes a difference when you want to rest after a long day tripping around the city.
  Subway is very close, the area is safe and people there are very friendly.
  We definitly recommend it to you!

  From the first contact via email, all the agreements were processed very smoothly in a timely manner, what we agreed upon was delivered/available. The apartment is represented quite accurately by the online photos and description. Roberta, the landlord from the first contact was very helpful, warm and kind to us during our whole stay and made sure that we felt right at home. She always was at our disposal about all the stuff, not only about the apt itself, but also about the neighborhood and NYC. The apt is very quiet and it has its own entrance, so the privacy was fully provided. The subway is about a 10-minute walk. Overall, the service was great, apt was very clean and convenient for all our needs. I highly recommend it!

  It was wonderful!! Everything was very clearly treated since the first contact via mail. Then arriving at NY we depended on Roberta to find the way to arrive home. She was available and very helpful. And this was just the sms contact arriving at Newark. Then when we finally rung her doorbell she showed her concern about us because it was raining cats and dogs. But the reception was warm, we were immediatly showed everything and it was really what we saw in the pictures, even better.
  Then during the whole week we knew we could always count on her, being there but not intrusive. It is a place that I am already advertizing to friends that want to spend sometime in NY.

  The apartment is in excellent condition, it's small but it has the necessary to survive, it is perfect for 3 or 4 people.
  
  The location is perfect, because is near from the subway and also in the conrner is the bus stop.
  
  Also, Roberta is an excellent host, she is gentle and responsible person, always worried about your confort.
