Description from the owner
We are only 5 minutes to downtown Manhattan, 20 mins to Times Square, Soho and Tribeca via the popular L TRAIN subway line that's just a 1-minute walk from our front door. This townhouse is perfectly situated on a quiet residential street yet just around the corner from Brooklyn's hippest new neighborhood: Williamsburg. The area is packed with cute restaurants and bars, from Peruvian steak houses to French bistros and even a German beer & barbecue. The neighborhood is also a magnet for young people moving to the city and an influential hub for indie rock, hipster culture, and the local art community. .

Additional Location Information
We bought this townhouse in 2010 after living in the middle of Manhattan for 16 years and have fallen in love with our new neighborhood. The L Train to Manhattan is on the corner of Union and Metropolitan (A minute away from our front door). Our previous neighborhood was very old-school residential with massive apartment buildings, while Williamsburg is filled with 3-story townhouses like ours where the neighbors all sit on the front steps and enjoy the street life. The huge influx of artists, photographers, restaurateurs and young people who recently "found" the neighborhood because of it's close proximity to Manhattan and (formerly) relatively inexpensive housing make for a VERY interesting mix on the street and we love it. We are surrounded by great restaurants, bars, vintage stores and shopping on Bedford Ave.

Thanks again the positive reviews helped me to choose this place. We were here for 6 nights and were very happy with the accommodations and location. As a first timer to NY, the price for accommodation in Manhattan is outrageous especially when you are up and out the door by 0900 and back home around 2330. Email communication was very quick with lots of detailed information. We arrived our first night via taxi from EWR at 9 pm. All the instructions provided by Sean made for a headache free arrival esp after 6 hrs of travel. We paid up front, which left me a little hesitant, but after a few more emails then phone calls I was not worried at all. The place is a 1 min walk to the subway that gets you where ever you need to be. For all you Broadway show types, the Brooklyn location for discounted tickets is about 15 min from here and if you are there by 1030 (doors open at 11) there are only a few people in front which is nothing compared to Times Square. The restaurants in the "hood" are very tasty and cheap. The owners have done a great job with the "welcome/info binder" inside the place. We had everything you could need, from hair dryer, all toiletries, iron/ironing board etc. for a short term/long term stay. The aC was also very cool (perfect) in this humid time that we arrived. I would not hesitate if you are looking for a great place to stay while in NY.

Our intensive internet research for a flat for our family of 4 adults in New York in July 2012 proved to be very succesful, finding this nice flat with nice, very helpful but also discret owners.
It is a perfect choice for a modern flat with a very good location: Williamsburg Brooklyn, 3-5 minutes to 3 metro stations, with a lot of shops, restaurants, bars around - non-stop, some of them! I subscribe to previous reviews that pictures are very accurate but they can't describe the nice feeling of living in this apt., which is not luxurious but is warm, nice and modern.
Before going there, we were a little worried about parking and about sleeping conditions in the living room. But it was easy to find a parking place on the street, which is quiet and safe also during night time; and the king size air mattress in the living room was great; very, very comfortable and easy to install (4 min, self inflating). All needed information, in extensive written form - transport, shops, restaurants, bars, etc - was provided by the owners. We warmly recommend this flat for any family or grup of 2-4 persons ! -

This is a terrific little apartment, very clean, nicely decorated, lovely garden, well appointed and in a very cool area of Williamsburg. It's quaint and quiet but close to heaps of great bars, restaurants and shopping. The subway to manhattan is literally right around the corner and it only takes a few minutes to get to Times Square. Williamsburg is a fun area and the locals were a mix of a hip young crowd and the older neighbourhood who sat on their stoops and said hello as you walked by. We loved staying here, and highly recommend it. Thanks to the owners for a smooth and well organised system of "check in". We'll be back for sure on our next visit to New York!
