Description from the owner
The woodsy green (in color) sunset side of the Homestead Duplex, on a rocky bluff at the edge of the sea. It has easy drive-up access. Knotty pine paneling, king bedroom (to sleep 2), eat-in living room with hide-a-bed couch (sleeps 2 extra) and fireplace, bathroom with tub and shower. Kitchenette with conduction hot plate, microwave oven and full-sized refrigerator. Homestead West is connected via a two-door hall to the sunrise side, Homestead East. At the heart of the Blue Hill Peninsula. Central to shops in Blue Hill, groceries, farm stands, galleries, food co-op, laundry facilities and a large selection of restaurants. Nearby is Stonington with its own working waterfront, fresh caught lobsters, crabmeat and more. This is an area rich in the arts. There is Kneisel Hall school of music in the summer, Haystack Mountain School of Crafts on Deer Isle and Woodenboat School in nearby Brooklin. Yet, this is a rural, laid back setting with parks and sanctuaries in which to hike and be with nature entirely. We are about 50 miles from Bangor and an hours drive to Acadia National Park through Ellsworth and Bar Harbor.
