Small apartment on Leith shore ideal for two but small for four. Sofa bed is certainly not suitable for two adults. Clean and nicely furnished. Hot water in kitchen runs incredibly slowly. Handy for nice local restaurants and shops. Bus into Edinburgh centre is very close by. Would have been helpful to have directions to buses, supermarket etc so as not to waste time looking for them.
Enjoyable stay in Leith.

Good little apartment, conveniently placed for a break with easy access to Edinburgh. However the flat is a little tired. None of the extract - kitchen, bathroom and building - works.
Fairly well furnished with domestic kit apart from the joke handles on the kitchen knives.

beautiful, lovely and clean flat. Perfectly located, easy bus rides to Edinburgh-center ,bus rides to and from everywhere including a directly ride to the airport. We spend a wonderful time in Edinburgh and loved it to come back to this silent flat with that wonderful view over the water.

What a great find. Perfectly located away from Edinburgh "Central" Easy bus rides to and from everywhere including a straight ride to airport - no need for added expense of airport Bus (sadly - I found this out too late!!!) Everything you need for a pleasant stay is provided('cept toilet paper was overlooked) and the clotheswasher...confusing. We walked down from Royal Mile all the way to the apartment one evening. Plenty of eateries and local markets.

The service I received from the owner and the Mackay's agency was excellent. The flat was lovely and had everything we needed. The car park was directly behind the flats and was ideal; we didn't use the car all week. The location is simply lovely and it is only a minute walk from a range of pubs, cafes and restaurants, an express sainsburys with cash point, a newsagents and some shops. The bus stop is 2 minutes walk, and it is a 20 minute trip into Edinburgh at a cost of £1.40. We could not have asked for a more pleasant property for our first time at Edinburgh. There was an information list left in the lounge which explained everything we needed and a number in case of problems. The only negatives were as the flat is on the ground floor we were unable to leave any windows open at night and for a couple of days it did get rather warm at night, also it would have been nice if there had been a hook on the back of the bathroom door to hang the towels on. Apart from that we had a thoroughly lovely time and would definately use again.
Very enjoyable stay

The accommodation is in a quiet area and as it states in the ad only 10 minutes away from town centre. The accommodation itself was clean and tidy had everything we needed during our stay there. The owner left us a guide for the accommodation which was very helpful. We had a very enjoyable stay, if in the area again will definitely stay again.

Set in beautiful surrounding and a lovely apartment. We have enjoyed ourselves very much. My husband loved the fact that it was an old cooperage. It was perfect that you could park the car behind the building. The nights were very quiet, we have heard the seagulls. The buss stop nearby was also very helpful. If we were to visit Edinburgh again we would for sure rent this apartment again. 2 minor points of criticism. I would suggest another dining table and chairs (eg fusion from Ikea), these are too unstable with two kids who move much. Furthermore the television receiver seems to be broken, sometimes we were without sound.
The service was perfect. I especially liked the fact that the keys were sent to our house, and you could return them by post in included envelop.
Overall we have had a lovely holiday and enjoyed ourselves very much! Highly recommended!

Reluctant last minute booking

We were cross that our original booking made well in advance of the festival was withdrawn at short notice, and we were left with little choice. The flat was much further out meaning that we couldn't pop back easily between shows. We very much appreciated the "goodwill payment" made by Mackays. We would have been very unhappy if we had paid the full price for it.
Being urged to set the burglar alarm every time we went out left us feeling slightly unsafe. Being ground floor we couldn't leave the windows open at night. Hence we couldn't ventillate the flat. The windows were only singly glazed, hence noisy at night. (Also the flat above had a party the night we arrived that went on to 5am). The bedroom needs lined curtains since blinds don't keep out the light when trying to sleep. The flat is described as being suitable for up to four people but the kitchen would not have been well enough equipped to cook a meal for four. e.g. pans too small. Also had to buy a cafetiere and tin opener.
On the plus side, the flat was well decorated in an attractive conversion over looking the waterfront, in a part of town with good local shops and restaurants. The washing machine/ drier was an asset, as was private off-road parking.
