      Comfortable

Left on 04/21/2013 for a stay in April 2013

      A hidden gem in Brugge

Left on 06/15/2012 for a stay in May 2012

My husband and I stayed for two nights this past May, and our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. Brugge is a charming city, and De Sterre is a delightful bed and breakfast within the city center. Francine is a amiable host; she provided advice regarding dining in the city, offered to arrange a cab for our departure, and treated us with respect and privacy during our stay. The two-level garden house is cozy and cute. There are plenty of windows to let in the light, a small kitchenette with a refrigerator and tea/coffee makers, a sitting area with chairs and television, and beds with nice, clean linens. Though my husband and I did not find it to be a problem, there is an unbanistered, spiral staircase to the bedroom and bath; those that are afraid of heights or unaccustomed to climbing narrow stairs may want to take this into account before booking. Overall, the property is very nice; it is clean and comfortable. You have a private entrance to the garden house, so you maintain a great deal of privacy during your stay. Francine provided an ample breakfast (of bread, cheese, meat, yogurt, cereal, fruit, juice, etc.) each morning on our desired schedule. It was delicious and more than enough for two people. We did everything in Brugge by foot and found the location of the B&B; to be nice and convenient. The Markt is no more than a 10 minute walk, and we found a fantastic pub Herberg Vlissinghe a few blocks away on Blekersstraat. We would highly recommend De Sterre to other couples and hope to visit again someday.

Couldn't have asked for nicer b&b;!

Left on 04/12/2012 for a stay in March 2012

My wife, our two children (2 yrs & 6 mo.) and I stayed at De Sterre in March for three nights during a period of bright, sunny weather. It was a perfect vacation. The large garden is a fantastic place for the kids to play and adults to relax with a drink before and after excursions into the Old City. The wild ducks that stop over at the little pond in the garden are an added treat. Great location a short walk from the center of the Old City as well as some hip areas right outside of the Old City. We liked the traditional feel of the detached quarters where guests stay; it also afforded plenty of privacy and no guilt if the kids got fussy. Francine is a great host and had sage advice for restaurants. She worked very hard to make sure we enjoyed our stay and was on hand to help us with all the little details that traveling with children entails. We really enjoyed our time in Bruges and De Sterre was a big part of it.

Beautiful summerhouse in the heart of Bruges!

Left on 02/25/2012 for a stay in February 2012

My girlfriend and I greatly enjoyed our stay. The summerhouse is nestled at the bottom of a wonderful, large, overgrown garden. It has a nice downstaris to relax and a cosy bedroom upstairs; you also have your own entrance onto the road so no need to wonder through someone's house.

Francine was always available by email beforehand to arrange the stay and prepared a fantastic breakfast for us.

A fantastic place to spend a weekend or even longer, we shall certainly book again!

      great value for money

Left on 02/21/2012 for a stay in January 2012

I had a wonderful stay at de sterre: the owner was really friendly and even helped me find a good restaurant in the neighbourhood. But the best thing was definitely the fact that instead of just having a room you get to stay in a private little house! In the morning the owner brought the breakfast to my doorstep. Great value for the money and I can`t say I`ve seen anything like it in Bruges. Definitely worth a visit!
