Additional Location Information
We love our proximity to all the shops and restaurants on Maine Street. In the morning, you can enjoy Wild Oats bakery at the end of our street for some yummy baked goods or a cappuccino, and in the evening take in a movie at the one- screen Evening Star Theater in the quaint down-town 'mall'. We have a beautiful yard where we grow our own blueberries, blackberries and roses. I love the smell of our local coffee roasting company, 'Wicked Joe's,' roasting coffee during the day. I love the tree lined street of Park Row with the huge Captain Houses. I love that we are so close to the ocean and many amazing coves and harbors and yet still in the center of town that is thriving with shops, restaurants and things to do and see. Join in on some of our neighborhood events or let us point you in the right direction for an adventure off the beaten path.
We bought our historic 1879 home on School Street to be within walking distance of Bowdoin College and all that downtown Brunswick has to offer. School Street is a special neighborhood of professors, artists and writers that we fell in love with. It has beautiful brick sidewalks and neighbors that pride themselves on their gardens. We wanted to have an apartment that we could rent out to other visiting faculty or international musicians traveling to the Bowdoin International Music Festival. We would like to open up our apartment to Summer guests to enjoy Maine the way we do.
Originally from California we have taken an educational tour of the country for my wife to receive her Masters from Tufts and PhD from Duke and now she is currently a professor at Bowdoin College. I am a stay at home Dad taking care of my elementary-age son and daughter. I am a CPA by training but use it only sparingly now. Though we will never be seen as real 'Mainers,' we have adopted Maine as our favorite state. We want to help those not from here to experience Maine as if you had a family member or friend living here.

What Past Guests Are Saying
Great Maine Stay
This is such a warm welcoming place to stay in the heart of Brunswick, Maine. The living area is an old barn which is newly converted while retaining it's rustic vaulted ceilings and exposed woodwork. The kitchen has a sweet retro 50's feel, including washer and dryer close at hand. The carpeted attic bedroom is cozy and quiet, with plenty of closet space and views of the surrounding historic neighborhood. Downtown Brunswick is 2 blocks away, with many fine eateries, gelato, antique stores, dvd rental, movie theater, town green, and more. Also close to biking/jogging path running along beautiful androscoggin River. Short drive to hiking, beaches, light houses, lobster shacks, art museums, and much more. The ideal summer get away.

Quiet, cozy midcoast getaway
This little apartment is nestled in the heart of Brunswick, just two blocks away from downtown shops and restaurants. It was an old barn converted into an apartment, which gives this quaint little place a classic Maine feel with the open wood beams and exposed wood interior. There is a smaller bedroom and a loft off of the living room, which are ideal for kids and guests while providing a natural separation from the main bedroom. As an added bonus, there is a full size washer and dryer which is a great convenience. School Street is a quiet little neighborhood filled with welcoming families. Brunswick has a lot of great restaurants within walking distance, and we suggest The Gelato Fiasco, Wild Oats Bakery, and The Great Impasta. The town park is also only two blocks away and there is a farmer's market great little food stands. Bowdoin College is just up the hill and is a great place to walk around. It has the art Museum, International Summer Music Festival, and Maine State Music Theater. The beautiful Maine coast is easily accessible from the apartment. Reid State Park and Popham Beach are about 30min drive. Great shopping at the Freeport Outlets is also just a short 10min drive. Further south is Portland, which has a host of activities from the Portland Headlight to great restaurants in the Old Port. Just a half hour north is Damariscotta, which is a quaint little Maine town. Pemaquid lighthouse is a great day trip, and Moody's Diner is a must. Lastly the landlords Jason and Ericka are fantastic people and are very accommodating. Jason is very proactive and quick to address any concerns you may have. They keep the place in tiptop shape and both the apartment and garden always look spectacular. They are very helpful and are always up to offer help or suggestions for activities in the surrounding area. If you are looking for a quiet, spacious and comfortable place with easy access to downtown, this is the place to come.
Wonderful Place to Stay
My wife and I stayed here and fell completely in love with Brunswick and the area. The home is wonderful, mixing 19th century style with 21st amenities. It's a short walk to an eclectic mix of stores and wonderful restaurants. The owners are the sweetest people and were extremely accommodating to our needs. If you haver never been to Brunswick it is totally a must and this would be the place to stay. We highly recommend this property to others.
