Blenheim, New ZealandA really lovely place to stay when visiting Brussels
Left on 01/09/2013 for a stay in January 2013
My husband and I stayed here with our adult son for 4 days in early January. The apartment was exactly as shown and described on the website. It was spacious, warm, clean and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and we really appreciated having a washing machine and large clothes drying rack. We made good use of the storage rack downstairs for hanging some clothing as the steps to the loft are quite a climb with luggage. At all times, Elena was accessible via email and her cell phone and we always found her to be friendly and accommodating. We especially appreciated being able to store our bags at the apartment building prior to our arranged check in time and also at the end of our stay as we had a late afternoon flight.
The location of this apartment was ideal for us. It is in a quiet area of the city and within reasonably easy walking distance of the metro, central railway station and shops. We would definitely stay here again and would be happy to recommend it to others. -

Orinda, CaliforniaFabulous Christmas in Brussels
Left on 01/09/2013 for a stay in December 2012
We stayed in this beautiful loft apartment 6 nights with our 9-year-old daughter for Christmas in Brussels. Elena was amazing from the moment we contacted her and very helpful with the arrangements and for all things we wanted to see and do in Brussels. The apartment was exactly as shown in the photos, very clean and nicely furnished, with everything we needed. The loft bedroom and bathroom gave just enough privacy. The location was perfect, just a short walk to two metro stations and close to restaurants and a really nice market. The neighborhood and the building itself were very quiet and being on the top floor gave us a lot of privacy out the windows, without neighbors looking in. We would recommend this rental unit to anyone. It is our fifth vacation rental, and was our favorite so far.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The host was extremely friendly and availaible. Wifi worked well and for free.
The place is well situated in the EU quarter, not far from the train station or the Grand Place. Of course, a loft implies walking into a lot of stairs. The loft is big and comfortable. However, the seats in the living room are somewhat uncomfortable. A few extra plates in the kitchen could also be useful. The bottom line is that some aspects were great, and only a few needs modest improvements. Overall, good location! -

We stayed in this apartment for one week with my partner. Everything was clean, nicely decorated and comfortable. The apartment is very close to two metro stations and it's very near to the EU Quarter and in walking distance from the centre. The neighbourhood is also very nice, we found everything we needed.
We had a warm welcome and upon our arrival we found milk, juice and coffee stocked and some brochures with suggestions for getting around in Brussels. We found everything very comfortable, the bed, the dining chairs and the living room.
The host is very kind and helpful! Also, our communication with Elena was excellent from the beginning. She answered to all of our emails and questions promptly.
We did a lot of research before renting this apartment. We think that the price, compared to other apartments of this kind in Brussels, is very good. Also, what you see in the pictures is exactly what you get. There are some stairs to climb but this wasn't an issue for us.
We have already recommended this place to our friends. -

Vilniusexcellent apartment in the EU area
Left on 07/12/2012 for a stay in June 2012
Cosy, comfortable stay in the EU area (walking distance to the main institutions). Host is extremely helpful. There are all necessary things for longer stay (f.e. several weeks). As the apartment is on the top floor, there are some staircases to climb.

We were 3 people and stayed here for 3 nights.
the flat looked the same as what we saw from the picture.
Plenty of utensils to cook, big table for eating, 2 big beds enough for 4 people.
Also clean and tidy 2 bath rooms, (one toilet and one bathroom with bath tub) and nice, sunshiny terrace!
Almost of all, house owner was so kind and always willing to help us, she recommended nice restaurant, reserved a taxi for us.
if i have a chance to stay in Brussel again, i will definayely -

Munich (via Maine)Comfortable loft, good location
Left on 05/05/2012 for a stay in April 2012
From the beginning, our contact with owner Elena was excellent. She answered questions promptly and once we arrived, we were warmly welcomed. Because we were driving, we asked about parking facilities and Elena's husband actually gave up his garage space for us! How great is that! The flat itself has a spacious feel because of its high ceilings. There is great light and a nice view to a park nearby. The bed is comfortable and the kitchen very well-equipped, including some provisions already stocked on our arrival: milk, cereal, juice, coffee, tea and wine -- what more does one need?
There was a transit strike all 5 days that we were in Brussels, so we really appreciated the central location of the flat, between the Royal Palace and the EU area. It's also close to a more down-to-earth ethnic neighborhood, full of interesting restaurants and small markets with fresh meat and produce -- ask Elena about the Lebanese place nearby.
The loft had just come off the long-term rental market and I think we were among the first Flipkey renters. There are a couple of things that would have improved the stay, although they are relatively minor. In the sleeping space which is up a steep set of stairs, there was no place to put our suitcases except the floor, and there was no place to unpack (no chest of drawers or hanging space), which meant we had clothes scattered around for 5 days. Also, the seating in the living area could use an upgrade: a better sofa and/or comfortable chair(s). It's not that they're uncomfortable but they do have the look and feel of university student accommodations. One final small thing: we'd been on the road for a week when we arrived and were delighted to use the loft's washing machine, but a laundry drying rack would have been nice, rather than draping our damp clothes all over the flat. But these are small criticisms and I am sure that Elena will address them with time. It is really a good place to stay and I'd definitely come back.

Hi,
Thanks to Doris for her review. It will always be a pleasure to have her as our guest. The apartment was impeccable after they left.
I just wanted to add/clarify a few details that seems confusing on the review.
- Space for clothes and suitcases
There is actually a cloth wardrobe/set of 9 shelves in the bedroom. It is in the space next to the bathroom, as one can see from the pictures. I forgot to point that out but I (wrongly!) thought that it was quite obvious.
To avoid carrying the suitcases up the "steep staircase" there is a iron-wrought hanger on the lower level. You can hang your clothes and put the suitcases on the lower shelf. Again, I didn't point it out...
- Seating in the living room
Absolutely true. We have bought new sofas and armchair since.
- Drying clothes
The washing machine is actually also a dryer. -

Very modern, pleasant and peaceful apartment, very well located, close to public transportation or pleasant 20 minutes walk from Central Station. It has entirely private small terrace with nice view on the park. It's a very comfortable (if you're not too large or afraid of narrow staircases) place to stay. It is fully equipped with brand new appliances and most of the furniture; flat screen TV, radio/CD player and perfect Wi-Fi internet connection. The check in / check-out was very easy - the owners are very friendly and make sure we had a perfect stay. The apartment was super clean and has every utensil you could possibly need. We had all basic bathroom supplies and tea, coffee etc., even some oatmeal, raisins, milk and orange juice! I would definitely recommend this apartment. Many thanks for a wonderful stay!
