This cabin was average in our opinion. Several maintenance issues-nothing unusable but just in dis-repair. Furniture and appliance have had heavy use{ can we get new mattresses please?} Also, even with keeping all doors shut, had carpenter ants all over kitchen. Also, we wish our cleanng fee was put to better use. Very nice owner and rental staff-came right out to clean tub better. Fee for WiFi-make sure this is disclosed!

When looking for a dog-friendly cabin, I found the Memory Maker online. The pictures had a 2002 date on them and I wondered if the cabin still looked like it did in 2002. It still looked exactly the same as it did 9 years ago.
The cabin is surrounded by trees and sits at the end of a gravel road so we felt secluded. Stress melted away as soon as we stepped out of the car. Sitting on the side porch was just like being in a tree house, with a wonderful view that we enjoyed every morning and evening. Everything was clean and the beds were extremely comfortable.
The town of Bryson City was absolutely charming and had everything we needed. Our days were filled with enjoying nature. Zip lining (Bryson City), a two and 1/2 horseback ride to a waterfall at Smokemont Stables (north of Cherokee), Pontoon Rental at Lake Fontana and Gem Mining at Cherokee Ruby Mine (Franklin).
This cabin was centrally located which made all our activities easily accessible. Deep Creek Park was right down the road and had great trails with waterfalls.
This will be one of our favorite vacations and coming "home” to the Memory Maker each evening will be a big part of our wonderful memories of our trip to the Smoky Mountains.

My wife and I needed to get away from the city and took a gamble on Bryson City. The Memory Maker was just that, a place to make memories. The cabin was in excellent condition, had everything we needed, and is situated in a perfect spot. We could hear and see the creek, walk into the park to go hiking, or most importantly, we could simply lounge around the cabin in peace. This was an overall great experience.

My families stay in the Memory Maker Cabin was an amazing experience! First of all the location is idealic, it is quiet, set back in the woods, and boasts a lovely view! Our family truly made some wonderful memories here! Convenient to town, but with a feel of being deep in the backcountry. Comfortable beyond belief, we spent a day lounging around the cabin, admiring the scenery from the hot tub, and rocking chairs on the deck, as well as sitting before the fireplace to play family games! More than just a base for exploring the surrounding areas, this cabin is a destination in and of itself! We fell in love, and will definitely be back in the future! We have raved about it so much, that many of our friends and family are now interested in visiting. Thanks for the wonderful summer memories!
