Your expectations are sure to be exceeded with a stay at Rock Cr

Left on 05/16/2013 for a stay in April 2013

My partner and I recently completed our 3rd vacation with accommodations at Rock Creek Cabins. Being from Vermont and loving the mountains, I find the Bryson City area to be very appealing and an easy drive from the Orlando, Florida area where we reside. 5 years ago, we stayed in the O'mygosh! cabin with 3 relatives in tow. We were impressed!
The most recent trip to abbott cabin without the relatives but with our dog was thoroughly relaxing. Richa and staff are very friendly and helpful. As tastefully decorated and furnished that the cabins are, the nightly rate is surprisingly low for the high quality that Rock Creek offers. Since we were returning guests, a discount was even applied to our nightly rate and there were no hidden charges.
It is great getting out in the Wilderness without the need to "rough it". A gas fireplace stove with remote control makes it easy to get comfy for a romantic evening. Though I prefer not to keep up with events of the World on vacation, I did use my tablet to check the mail occasionally with an excellent WiFi connection. During our stay, the Smoky Mountains were sans smoke for a change but for one day. Relaxing in the always ready hot tub, hanging out in a rocking chair with a cocktail on the front porch with superior scenic vistas perched on the mountainside while grilling a steak...need I say more?!
Day trips are so convenient with the Blue Ridge Parkway nearby. I am a big fan of railroads so be sure to board the train in Bryson City for a trip up along the Nantahala river to the Outdoor Center. Our ritual also includes Harrah's casino in nearby Cherokee which we actually left with a few more dollars than we brought. And of course, cheap smokes are available on the Reservation.
To sum it up: If you are a 1st timer considering this as your lodging choice, I believe your expectations will be exceeded. I highly recommend that you stay with Rock Creek Cabins as we will do so again!

The cabin was well appointed and comfortable.

It has great view of the mountains. The only complaint would be the lack of privacy from the other cabins.

Superb Mountain View and Well appointed Cabins

Left on 05/06/2013 for a stay in April 2013

Absolutely spectacular! Located just minutes from downtown Bryson City, these cabins were still secluded and offered incredible mountain vistas. Directions and check-in procedures were excellent in that we didn't have to stop and check-in somewhere. The cabin was absolutely spotless and was equipped with everything we could possibly need (ok maybe there could have been a blender, but we'd brought our own.)

Yes the drive up to the top is a little steep, but I'm chicken. We didn't fall down the mountain!

      Could not recommend these more!

      The upside to downtime.

Left on 08/07/2012 for a stay in July 2012

Second time as a guest to Rock Creek Cabins and, as before, was not disappointed. This time was in the abbott Cabin. It was only a bit difficult to get to but once I remembered the correct turn sequence out of Bryson City, it was a snap. Maybe not so easy in inclement weather but our stay was fair and sunny in the main. As with all Rcc's places, Abbott was clean and cozy. One tip to others is that if you dislike steps, you may want a different rental. But as my co-travelers are troupers they were but a minor obstacle. Not shown in the picture is that the hot tub is now enclosed and that worked for sure given how hot it was in the area. Plenty of hot water and good water pressure, well stocked kitchen, excellent climate control. If you don't like nearby neighbors you may want to opt for a different cabin. But if you like top of the mountain fire rings (just west of the cabin a few yards) and beautiful views from a rustic porch, you can't go wrong with this set of Rcc's abodes. Rocking on a porch on a summer's late evening hour, after a day and night around Cherokee (and the Drama), with a couple of cold ones, while watching meteor showers grace the night time sky that is so dark you can see the outline of the Milky Way... a great way to spend down time up in the Smokies.

      Fabulous cabin with breathtaking views!

Left on 04/29/2012 for a stay in April 2012

My husband and I stayed at the abbott cabin to celebrate our anniversary. It was the best trip we've ever had. Everything you could possibly need for a relaxing time is in this cabin. The views are spectacular and it was so awesome to have a cup of coffee in the morning on the front porch. The hot tub was just an extra perk which added to the enjoyment and the memories that we will never forget. Neither one of us wanted to leave for home on Sunday, after such a relaxing and peaceful weekend. The cabin is great for a romantic getaway or a family vacation. The loft has twin beds for the kids, which I'm sure they would love. The owners are fantastic and will do anything necessary to make sure you have a great time. Bryson City is a great little town with lots to do, but it is far from being a tourist trap. Lots of cute little shops and other things to do.

Had a great Thanksgiving in the abbott cabin. It was everything they describe and more. Really hated to leave. Exceptionally clean. Views were breath taking.

Took the grandkids on the Polar Express in Bryson City. We loved it as much as they did. Can't wait to come back.
