The other review simply does not do this home justice! When we arrived the house was spotless. There were a few ladybugs and wasps, but you will find them anywhere in the mountains. The furnishings were very comfortable and all in very good condition. The views from the hot tub and porch were absolutely spectacular, and we were very lucky to be there during the peak fall color season.
I would agree with the other reviewer that the location is remote. It takes about 25 minutes on mountain roads to get to either Bryson City or Franklin. There is no cell service (not for me, anyway)and no internet. Free wi-fi and cell service are available in a number of locations in Bryson City. The access road is steep, narrow and winding, but mostly paved with a good surface in the few remaining spots. No problem if wet, but 4WD is probably required for winter conditions. We only saw three or four cars all week. There are only a few more houses farther up the ridge.
All in all, it was a great stay! -

Realtor should have warned us how high up the mountain and the time it takes to get to the property from the bottom. Very hard at night to reach. Great house and view but kids couldn't even try to go outside due to bugs GIANT Bees and WASPS! Huge nests surrounding the roof around the entire porch. One kid got stung the 1st night we didnt have any first aid supplies. You could not walk through the front door without many kinds of bugs entering with you. I would have like to open windows but it was to risky. There were dead bugs everywhere in sills, floors and beds. Nobody checked the place before we arrived. Kids would not sleep upstairs or downstairs in fear.
