It is said that the "Horse Shoe" or The "Horse Shoe Design" is one of the most recognized symbols of good luck in North America. Given the proximity of the property, (Only Minutes Away From Harrahs Casino) in Cherokee NC, we felt it only appropriate to name our cozy little cabin "Horse Shoe Bend". It is a very private and secluded property located in Whittier NC.
Situated only minutes from the newly renovated Harrah's Casino, world renound trout fishing, hiking, tubing, white water rafting, skiing, Cades Cove, Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, Nantahala, Blue Ridge Parkway, "Horse Shoe Bend" is the perfect vacation getaway! .
Guests can travel to Gatlinburg for a day trip or to Asheville NC to see the Biltmore House and spend the day shopping or they can simply relax in the hot tub at the cabin and do nothing all day! Your choices are endless! And yes of course, there are horse shoes on the walls over the fireplace mantle for our guests to rub for "Good Luck".
The cabin is surrounded by some of the tallest hardwoods in the area which provide the much sought after ambiance that can only be experienced in the Great Smoky Mountains of North Carolina.
Sit back in the rocking chairs on the expansive front porch and allow your mind to absorb the natural state of things in this wonderful, quiet and peaceful place.

This cabin is a wonderful place to be if you want somewhere you can relax and spend time with family and friends. It was very peaceful and it seemed like we were the only ones around. Even though it was secluded, it was only a short drive for our white water rafting excursion and for quick trips to the store.
Donnie, the owner, was awesome and very attentive to all our needs! -

We had a wonderful time at the cabin celebrating 5 family members birthdays. The cabin was in a very good location for us with everything we did, like visiting relatives in andrews, & Waynesville, & Whittier, and shopping in Gatlinburg and playing at the casino. we also did some gem mining nearby. The hot tub felt wonderful and the end of each day. We will certainly contact you again whenever we need a great deal, and pass it along to friends and family.

Two words describe our experience at Horse Shoe Bend: Exceeded Expectations!
The home is mid-way up a small mountain and Us441, close to Cherokee, Bryson City, and Whittier, in a tree-house like surrounding, about 10 minutes from the highway. Gps had two different accurate routes depending on where we started.
Harrah's casino is less than 30 minutes from the door to seated in the concert hall. Ten minutes down the hill is Food Lion, gas, and fast-food.
The kitchen is well appointed with lots of utensils, pots, pans etc. The appliances seem new and sparkling clean, like the rest of the place
The interior has shiny hardwood floors, log walls, big windows, efficient kitchen with new countertops, new appliances, and conveniences like satellite TV, telephone, and Internet.
Great for a romantic retreat, friends getting together, or a family vacation home-base.
Outside is a large wrap-around deck and a lower level deck with hot-tub. It seems like you are secluded deep in the woods! Soaking at night under dark mountain skies with millions of stars was special, and romantic! The decks could easily host a large cookout or get-together there.
I'm glad we found this place before booking a cracker-box motel room for two nights! This was a little cheaper and the motel keeps their pop-up toaster 'cardboard' continental breakfast! For a treat, cook a real breakfast and then eat outside on the new upper deck. You will be surrounded by trees and birds singing. I guarantee it will taste better than a toaster-waffle or McBreakfast!
This was our first time here, but we agreed that we will be back! Donnie, the owner, was cordial, professional, and accommodating. He has a plain-speaking manner and proved true to his word.
Note: Parking area is gravel, and this is a two-story home in case you use a wheelchair. We drove a low-to-the-ground Prius with no difficulty on the roads or driveway.
This was a very good experience and a great value.

Very clean, nice place..just as shown and described online. We had everything we needed. Wonderful owner, easy to contact and quick to respond to questions. Secluded and peaceful place to stay, we'd definitely stay here again.

This was a very pleasant vacation. The cabin was very clean and was quiet big enough for our large group. If u want peace then this is the spot. Beautiful ride to the cabin but not to far from town. The hot tub was a huge success with our group.
