Exterior:

The gravel road to simplicity travels around a beautiful horse pasture surrounded by mountains, up the mountain side to end at a circular drive in front of the chalet that allows enough space to easily turn around a vehicle to head out exploring the surrounding smoky mountains. The mountain forest surrounding Simplicity Chalet secludes it in a peacefully relaxing environment, filled with the sounds of birds singing in the trees, horses playing in the pastures below and the wind rustling through the leaves. The exterior colors and elements of the chalet blend with the natural environment surrounding it. A few steps or up the r...amp from the parking area is the front door. Past the front door is a covered porch. The large covered porch is designed to take advantage of the cool mountain air and view of the mountains through the trees.

Entry Level:

As you step through the front door, stairs to the upper level are directly in front of you. To the left of the stairs is the living room. The glowing warmth of a wood burning stone fireplace plus the natural colors of the forest view through sliding glass doors create a simply comfortable and relaxing atmosphere that fills most every space of the entry level. A satellite TV is mounted over the fireplace. Across from the living room is the open full kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the cooking and dining utensils you need to prepare your favorite meals. The dining table has a great view of the fireplace and the mountain view through forest outside. Between the kitchen and living room a hallway leads to the master bedroom. The spacious master bedroom has a queen size bed and a private bath.

Simplicity Chalet is secluded in a quiet forest above a picturesque mountain valley horse pasture bordering the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. This beautiful corner of the smoky mountains is known as The Settlement at Thomas Divide. Guest staying at Simplicity Chalet are allowed use of some of the Settlement at Thomas Divides common area facilities, including parking a horse trailer and a paddock that may also be used by guest. Please visit the Thomas Divide page for more information if you would like to bring your horse on your next vacation. The Thomas Divide horse and hiking trail in the National Park is just a few minutes horse back ride from the pasture below Simplicity Chalet. A couple of minutes scenic drive past the Thomas Divide trail head is one of the most popular sections of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This area is called Deep Creek. In Deep Creek there are three beautiful waterfalls to hike to and the creek it self is a popular creek to tube down in the summer. Downtown Bryson City is about 5 minutes down the road. The Cherokee Indian Reservation is about 15 minutes away. If you want a little more excitement, white water rafting on the Nantahala river is about 25 minutes away. The gravel roads to Simplicity are wide, well maintained and navigable by most all vehicles
