Our party of 25 had the best vacation ever! We rented both the Hacienda and the attached three bedroom villa which accommodated us beautifully. Our ages ranged from 1 to 70 and the pools on site, short flat walk to the beach, beach equipment and full staff service made the trip fun for everyone.
The staff worked so hard and went to every extra effort to make our stay the vacation of a lifetime. Any request was met with a sincere smile even when it might have been an inconvenience to them. I have never been on a vacation with staff as sincere, helpful, and excellent at their jobs as the 5 staff at Hacienda Camino al Mar.
Louis went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure our wedding was beautiful and fun, taking care of details that we hadn’t even thought of. He seemed to take great pleasure in surprising us with small things that made our vacation very memorable including private salsa lessons!
We had a number in our party of 25 that were concerned about staying at a “house” as opposed to an all inclusive resort and their concerns where quickly alleviated on arrival when we were greeted in the gorgeous entryway by a very warm and friendly staff with freshly made salsa, guacamole, chips and margaritas. Everyone in our party raved about the wonderful vacation that they had and many hope to book the Hacienda in the future.
Our concerns before getting to the Hacienda:
- how far was the beach? Answer: A very short walk - probably closer than if you were at an all inclusive resort directly on the beach.
- is the area safe? Answer: Everyone felt very safe walking through-out the entire area, the locals were very friendly and helpful and the vendors on the beach weren't so numerous as to impede your relaxation.
- will the Hacienda look as good in person as it does in the pictures? Answer: The Hacienda was even better in person!
- will the food be good? Answer: The food was excellent! We had planned to eat out on some occasions but I don't think anyone did except when we had fish tacos in Sayulita
- is Bucerias a good choice for a vacation? Answer: We ended up loving the location and would definitely go back! The beach was great with enough waves for the teens to boogie board but not so big that we were too worried about them. There were rental spots close by where we rented paddle boards. From the Hacienda we could walk the beach all the way to Nuevo Vallarta and beyond, 5 minutes to the decent sized market with cute little shops along the way and many restaurants. It was also a short drive/bus ride from the airport, Puerto Vallarta and to Sayulita where we did some exploring. -

This was our third visit to Hacienda Camino al Mar and this trip was not disappointing. We are greeted as if we are visiting family. The villa is beautiful and is a perfect size for a large group, everybody gets there own space but there is also lots of room for the family to hang out together. The pool is amazing and the grounds are very nicely kept.
The staff are wonderful, amazing food and wonderful drinks. We had cooking demonstrations with Denise and a fun talent night with Louis. Angela keeps us all organized and tidy quite a job...
Cannot say enough good things about our stay, we love coming back to the villa.
