If you step out this old, beautiful and silent building, you will be in the middle of real Budapest life with lots of bars, restaurants and cafes.
It is walking distance from most of the city's main attractions: the Synagogue is in the neighbourhood, the Basilica, the Opera House, bank of the Danube and the Chain Bridge are less than ten minutes walk. The closest metro station Astoria is two minutes walk and there are variou...Read more

Left on 08/01/2012 for a stay in July 2012
I stayed in this beautiful apartment in July for a week with my family. It was in a great location in an amazing district with lots of eating options, lovely old buildings and public transport nearby and had all the facilities we needed when travelling with three young children (6, 3, 3), including lots of room for the children to play. Peter went out of his way to help us on our visit, including tips for child-friendly activities in Budapest and helping us get to the airport. If we ever visit Budapest again from australia we would definitely stay here again and have already recommended it to family who are planning a European holiday.

The apartment was very big and well-furnished. Provided us with a really comfortable and affordable stay. Having 2 toilets in the apartment was a real plus! There was free Wi-Fi and the owner even provided a local line in case we needed to make any local calls.

LondonVery nice apartment with a very friendly host!
Left on 12/28/2011 for a stay in December 2011
Our stay in Budapest was a wonderful and pleasant one. We were welcomed by Peter, our host, into a very beautiful and well furnished apartment. Rooms were spacious and clean. The kitchen was also well equipped.
Peter was very helpful in providing a list of all the various sights and attractions close to the apartment, as well as a list of shops and restaurants that were value for money and served good food.
What impressed us the most was when Peter went out of his way to organise our transport to the airport from his apartment. He offered to call taxis for our group, as the public transport was closed on Christmas eve.
A friendly host and a beautiful apartment to return to really made our stay in Budapest a memorable one! -

New York CityBest place to stay in Budapest
Left on 10/29/2010 for a stay in October 2010
We was staying in apartmnt for 1 week. I want to say I wish I have this apartment in New York. Really high ceiling, may 20 feet or more. Huge rooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 showers.
Aparment has everything: TV, cable, Internet, landromat :), microwave and ect., We was traveling with 6 months child. Peter's apartment has cot and high chair. Basically it was home, far away from home.
Apartment located near major attractions.
A lot of place to eat near by.
I hope we will stay in Peter;s apartment again.
Lovely place -

Stockholm, SwedenDohany, a royal stay in downtown Budapest
Left on 10/28/2010 for a stay in October 2010
The Dohany apartment situated in the old Jewish district in Budapest provides an excellent base for a unique experience in the beautiful city of Budapest.
The first thing that strikes you when you enter the apartment is the very spacious interior and the magnificent ceiling height. In the living room area there are two single beds as well as two sofas and two armchairs making space for at least six seated persons. The bedroom hosts two king-size double-beds and has a beautiful wallpaper which adds some a lot of atmosphere to the room. The kitchen is well equipped and has a table seating six persons easily and sufficient equipment to cook a nutritious breakfast to get you set for a whole day of exploring the city.
As a very positive surprise the apartment comes with a wifi connection and a cell phone for local calls which enables you stay in contact with friends and manage bookings etc. for activities and/or the trip home. Also, there was some food in the fridge upon arrival which saves you the hassle of finding a supermarket to buy breakfast when you arrive. This is of course even more convenient in case of late arrival when a supermarket with flexible opening hours can be somewhat hard to find.
As always, when using ApartmentsApart the service is excellent also in Dohany, Budapest. The fact that the landlords greeted you at the apartment and showed you around made the stay even more pleasant and personal.
All and all a stay in the Dohany apartment will certainly provide you with a pleasant stay and giving you great opportunity to fully enjoy and appreciate the beautiful city of Budapest.
Major pros
• Central location
• Internet/wifi connection
• Spacious interior
• Cheap, great 'bang for the buck'
• First breakfast included
Minor cons:
• Minor plumbing issue in major bathroom
• Only four 'proper' kitchen chairs

The owner was extremely helpfully providing help at any time. I traveled with my husband & 2 friends. The convenience of 2 full bathrooms & a full kitchen was great. All appliances & essentials were provided in the flat, even great coffee! Tastefully decorated & very spacious. Easy wireless internet in unit. A small but efficient elevator made the flat easy to access. The only downside is the very friendly folks in Budapest like to party and the bar downstairs played music til 4am on Fridays. On the upside, it was great to be in the middle of the city with easy access to everything with plenty of good restaurants & pubs on the street. Owner provided a cell phone for local calls with taxi info. Would come back in a heartbeat.

An excellent apartment with all that you need, clean and well equipment. Very nice and serviceminded hostes, who also had filled the fridge with all that we needed for breakfast.
We will strongly recommend this apartment to others, and we will most surtenly come back.

IrelandA fab place to base your holiday in budapest
Left on 05/08/2010 for a stay in March 2010
The house is lovely with all modern amenities. The location is excellent. We stayed with a three year old child and found everything we required. Our hosts were friendly and provided a host of relevant and useful information (including colouring books, story books, a toy and easter eggs for our boy!).
Our only complaint was that our experience at Dohany appartment has ruined us for any other stay as no other accomodation we have used in this trip (we have been away 5 weeks now through eastern europe and the middle east) has quite lived up to the precedence set at Dohany (which was the first place we stayed).
Truely a great place to base yourself in the wonderful and beautiful city. -

ParisIt was just great
Left on 04/25/2010 for a stay in April 2010
Upon arival we were delighted to discover the beautiful flat of the Dohany street. It has a lot of style( Ceilings are 4m high) , and has been newly refurbished with taste. A stay in this place will certainly constitute an unforgettable experience. Furthermore the flat is centrally located and close to many places (opera, synagogue, shoppings...). I am trying without much success to think about something I disliked in this appartment.
Our trip was coincident with the eruption of the icelandic volcano, and ourunfortunately our flight was canceled. Peter and Piroska went out of their way to help and piroska spent about half a day with us to help us solve this problem. We want to thank them again for this.
What more can I say: great place and great people. 2 major ingredients to make your trip a success. -

Helsinki, FinlandPerfect location, good place to stay with a baby
Left on 03/26/2010 for a stay in March 2010
We were 3 adults travelling with our 9 months old son and chose this place first because of the perfect location and the possibility to use a baby cot as well as a baby highchair. It turned out to be a good choise: newly renovated aparment had a lot of space for us all and everything worked out smoothly. Two showers and toilets made it sure that no one had to queue, and in addition we got to use a local mobile phone for local phone calls. Apartment owner Peter was truly helpful above and beyond our expectations. This option was not the cheapest one, but considering the location, aparment condition and service, it was well worth the price.
