Ilona is a wonderful person and she met us at the railway station to take us to the apartment. The apartment is in a great location, is very clean, and was well supplied with our every need. We would highly recommend the apartment to anyone staying in Budapest.

I am hungarian, but living abroad for years. When I go back to Hungary I always stay in Ilona's apartments. This is my favourite one, because it is just in the beating heart of the city, the area is elegant and beautiful. The apartment is perfectly clean and cozy, you will absolutely feel like at home, or even better. The owner during the last years that I always went to her apartment, and suggested to every friends of mine who wanted to visit this amazing city, became my friend too. I can tell you that she was always punctual with check in-out time, always available to give me suggestions where to eat or to give good ideas to my friends how to discover Budapest..So, what else I can tell you! If you choose this apartment maybe you wont be in a 5 stars hotel, but in a 6 stars fantastic apartment which can offer you much better than a cold hotel room! Discover Budapest in Ilona's apartment. Highly reccomended

Agree completely with previous reviews.
Excellently located in a quiet and safe residential area (because of it's proximity to the parliament) that's unbelievably close to tram, metro and even river ferries. Whilst being far enough away to escape too much hussle & bussle from the main centre, though not discouragely far to walk to - approx 15 to 20 mins. The apartment's above a florist, sandwich/bakery shop, small cafe/bar & hairdressers with a small very helpfully staffed supermarket around the corner.
Ilona could not have been more friendly, or informative in her emails. From giving a local's invaluable take on interesting siteseeing right down to explaining every form of transport to get us to and from the airport in great detail. She has created an apartment that really felt like a home away from home for us. Incredibly clean, very comfortable, with multiple Hungarian languaged cable channels (you haven't lived til you've seen Clint Eastwood intimidate a perp in a strong Budapester accent!), extensive information and even discount vouchers for places to eat.
Though if I had to be really pushed to give minor snags just in the interests of giving a balanced review... a kettle would have been appreciated for us tea drinkers (with a great coffee maker already provided) as well as a good cutting knife for slicing the very crusty local bread and there was a gas smell that seemed to be between the kitchen & bathroom vents (disconcerting or maybe just more psychologcal as we had been told a ring or two hadn't been working recently on the stove)
But please don't see these as anything other than really inconsequential details, that in no way took away from the enjoyment of such an otherwise well equipped cosy retreat that did nothing but add to our trip. We were so impressed we've already recommended it to close friends & family and hope to be returning again ourselves sometime.

The hosts are really great people. They did not go the extra mile, they went an extra 5 miles!!
Very comfortable, and in an excellent location. (If you ca find the Parlimentary Building, you can find your way home. -

The apartment is in a fantastic location for sightseeing either on foot or by public transport and is only a couple of minutes walk from the Parliament building and the river Danube. We arranged with the owner for a transfer from the airport to the apartment which was good as I think it may have been difficult to find if we had used public transport. The apartment was spotlessly clean, very well equipped and comfortable and the owner was very friendly and helpful in telling us about places worth visiting during our stay. The apartment is situated in a quiet road with several local food shops nearby and the Rokfort restaurant is the nearest place to eat out if you don't feel like cooking (about one minute from the apartment)! There are of course many other places to eat out in the city. There is plenty of information in the apartment so you can plan where you wish to visit each day - there is so much to see and do in Budapest and although we were there for one week there are still places we didn't have time to visit. We purchased 7 day travel cards which gave us the freedom to use public transport in the city as much as we wished including the cog wheel railway but it is any easy city to walk around too. We hope to return to Budapest sometime in the future and would definately go back to this accommodation. Thank you Zagyva for the use of your comfortable and homely apartment.
