Beautiful elegant quiet 3bed home historic centre

OVERVIEW

Lovely and bright, my 3 bedroomed apartment is adorned with high ceilings and beautiful wooden and tile floors. It's right in the historic Spanish centre of Buenos Aires, a stone's throw from Avenida de Mayo, and yet it's superbly quiet! Restaurants, important tourist sites, cafes, theatres, shopping - all within easy walking distance.

Each bedroom has a double bed with good linen. There is a small double bedroom and two large bedrooms, one with its own mezzanine and an additional daybed. The livingroom is graceful with chandeliers, large arched window, Brazilian hammock and a sumptuous corner sofa. There is a full bathro...om, and a smaller bathroom with shower. It's my comfortable, cosy and beautiful oasis in exciting Buenos Aires!

LOCATION

Ravishing Avenida de Mayo is one block away with government buildings Congreso and Casa Rosada at either end joined by a tree lined avenue of classic Buenos Aires architecture. They say it's truly European: designed by the French, built by Italians and inhabited by Spaniards! There's always something going on, be it flamenco or tango shows, enjoying fine wines and a hearty steak in a traditional restaurant, gossiping over coffee in a famous bar – 36 Billares, Café Tortoni - or a free show on an impromptu stage in the middle of the street. We are in front of the picturesque National Lottery building – you might try your luck!

Palacio Barolo, the least humble office block to be found in the whole world, is one of the most important buildings in Buenos Aires. Themed on Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy, you walk into “hell” then make your way up, finally climbing right up to the lighthouse and you are in heaven! Just round the corner – take one of their fascinating regular tours.

The very first underground train line in South America, the A line, travels up the Avenue and on. Catch one of the original carriages and hang on!!

San Telmo with the famous market and antique emporia is quite close and also the busy Microcentro, with buses and taxis nearby to go further afield to La Boca or Palermo.

Tango aficionados? Look no further as there are many milongas nearby, including La Nacional, El Beso, Confiteria La Ideal, Niño Bien, Lo de Celia. There's also room to dance in the apartment on a lovely wooden floor.Read more

  I spent a month in Maggie's spacious light-filled period apartment where I was very well taken care of. It is in a great location, very close to the subte and bus stops and within walking distance of many milongas, San Telmo and Florida shopping area. The area is very interesting, very historic and I had a great time just walking around, exploring.

  No doubt about it... stay at Maggie's B&B if you want to be comfortable in a demanding city. All the comforts you could need and no one bothering you. Come and go as you please to enjoy the city. The location is perfect with easy walking, subway, buses and taxis all close by. Great for singles, couples, and friends. You will want to extend your time and return as soon as possible!
