It’s not hard to understand why Bayuh Sabbha is such a popular wedding venue. Perched on a cliff-top 50m above an endless sea with Bali’s coastline lying out hazily beyond, it boasts some of the most stunning views on the island. You can even see the twinkling lights of easternmost Java at night. Grassy lawns, edge-of-cliff sunset balés, breezy living and dining pavilions and a pair of almond-shaped infinity swimming pools make the means for admiring these panoramic views effortless as they unfold readily beneath a cloud-scudded sky. Then there are the characters that play out on this stage; surfers tacking the swell below,... boats bobbing along in the blue and fishermen casting their lines out to sea.

Complementing these stunning vistas is the villa’s gorgeous tropical garden – a delight in itself - that bursts with every type of exotic plant and tree imaginable, in every colour and shade. Dropping their iconic pink, yellow and white flowers like confetti in the swimming pools and over the soft grassy lawns are gnarled frangipani trees. Crimson torch ginger flowers burst from the side of the dining room whilst baby pink lotus blooms rise from a sea of lily pads and tall acorn-headed rushes in the pond. Prickly bougainvillea in pinks, reds and peaches claw up trees alongside coloured hibiscus and pretty white jasmine that burst from the many borders fringing the lush sea-view lawn.

Spread over 1.5 hectares, Bayuh Sabbha comprises a three-bedroom residence and a two-bedroom residence – each with its own living and dining areas, swimming pool and kitchen – connected by a short grassy walkway. In total, nine separate constructions make up the villa so there’s plenty of space for the big groups and family gatherings that it suits best. The villa is fully-staffed, including a cook (groceries on guest account plus 25% service charge), and additional facilities in the villa include a study, a gym, a tennis court and a media room which can be converted into a sixth bedroom, if required (and has its own bathroom). Bayuh Sabbha regales its isolated location on a cliff-top 50m above the ocean on Bali’s recently trendy Bukit. It shares its magnificent 180-degree views with a spattering of villas and lavish hotels and gazes down over Bingin Beach and up the jagged coastline to Dreamlands, where there’s another swathe of fine golden sand. You can wander down to Bingin Beach from a pathway just beyond the villa’s gates, and even to Dreamlands at low tide, but you’ll discover more rocks here than sand, at least for most of the day. Padang Padang Beach - a popular surfing spot – is the nearest beach with facilities (and good access) and can be reached by heading back down the main road. The famed Uluwatu Temple – a mecca at sunset – is a twenty-minute drive away. The nearest noticeable village is Pecatu, some five kilometers from the villa.
