Fornace apartments situated on the hill in the Sienese Crete in the shire of Bounconvento, an ancient medieval village in the province of Siena.

3,000 square metres of land with 4 apartments in secure grounds.

Casa Fornace is 3km from Bounconvento, 10km from San Qurico, 25km from Siena.

The owner, is a keen cook and is happy to organise cookery courses for guests.

A rustic, character apartment located in idyllic Tuscan farmhouse.

Located close to main through road to Bounconvento, 5 minute drive, a sleepy village with all amenities

from authentic Tuscan restaurants, geletaria, cafe bars, butchers, deli, sup...ermarket, bars etc and local charm in spades!

This cosy apartment sleeps 4 guests..double bedroom plus sofa bed for 2 more guests. Connecting apartment (internal door to next door apartment)available for larger groups sleeps 2 more guests with double bedroom, shower, kitchen, dining table, living room,sofa and alfresco dining (please ask for details and photos if you wish to book 2 apartments together)

Dine outside on the shingle terrace or upstairs at the pool covered dining area where weekly informal dinner parties are available on request in the summer.

Additional Location Information

Bounconvento can be found off the main road from Siena to Rome. A little picturesque village where time has seemingly stood still. Jasmine scented cobbled walkways, cafe bars, delicious trattorias serving Tuscan specialities, fresh home made ice cream from the gelataria, bakery, fruit and veg plus little boutiques selling locally made leather hand bags to cashmere scarves for the winter. Monte Oliveto with its inspiring abbey and scenery is just 10 minutes drive from your apartment.

We came here for our honeymoon 7 years ago and have returned every year since! Despite visiting many parts of Italy Bounconvento remains a favourite. The welcoming locals ( it has to be seen to be believed!), the sheer beauty of the surrounding rolling hills, the delicious fare from Ribolita bean soup to Wild boar ragu with tagliatelle or the cantuccio almond biscotti dipped in vin santo to round off a memorable meal!

The home is very accessible to all Moltacino, for the wine and Olive Oil is just a 10 minute drive from your home as the main road to Rome from Siena passes outside your door.
We can recommend our favourite wineries to ensure you get the most from your stay!
The train to Siena runs behind the accommodation (the station is 5 minutes walk) which is unmissable with its shell shaped piazza, boutiques, cathedrals and churches. Probably as beautiful city as you will see in Italy by my reckoning!

  The house was great, very spacious with nice views, only 10 min drive from the beautiful village of Montalcino. The owners were very friendly, helpful and great cooks. We had a great time there exploring the area and we would definetely recommend it to friends.

  We had a lovely stay at this accomodation, it was very handy for Siena, Montalcino and Montepulciano which were all within easy reach, the apartment itself was very clean. The only negative comments I have is that the air conditioning didnt work and it is on a main road, which when you are laying by the pool can be quite distracting. This should be made more obvious in apartment description.

  Lovely apartment and facilities but rather noisy location

  This is a lovely, spacious apartment in the small Tuscan town of Bunconvento. The owner lives on site and was very helpful despite her speaking no English and us speaking no Italian! Our main problem was the noise from the very busy road next to the house and the railway line. The apartment is not air conditioned and when we were there it was very hot. We were not able to open our windows because the traffic noise prevented us from sleeping. Maybe if you are used to traffic noise this would not be a problem but unfortunately we are not.As a result despite the lovely apartment, gardens and pool we would have preferred to stay somewhere quieter. Of course this problem might be solved by installing an air conditioner!

  Many thanks for your email, we have now installed aircon so the noise issue should be resolved.
  
  Off course the road noise is a trade off as the home is close to all amenities and walkabale to bars, restaurants etc
