Description from the owner
Live at home and in luxurious comfort in Los Angeles.
Stay in this fully modernized, recently remodeled home on a quiet tree-lined street in one of the best neighbrhoods in Los Angeles (which happens to be 12 minutes to Hollywood/Highland or Downtown, 5 minutes to downtown Burbank, and walkable to excellent restaurants and a friendly corner store).
This is a classic 1930’s LA bungalow that has been fully modernized, with copper plumbing, new central heating/cooling, contemporary electrical system. We even just repainted the house and repaved the walkway and driveway. The place is at its best and ready for you.

Additional Location Information
The area around the house is zoned for horses, and you'll even see them being exercised up and down the street. The convenience to the airport, the corner store, the great local restaurants, and the ease with which you can take the 5 downtown, the 134 to Pasadena or west to the 405, or shoot over Griffith Park Drive and Barham to Hollywood makes this a great spot, and if you have business local to Burbank you might even be able to bicycle there. Best of all is the peaceful, restful quality of this place; crickets at night, nearby mountains to the north and south during the day.
Close to the heart of Los Angeles, surrounded by amenities, walkable to groceries, restaurants and attractions, but quiet and peaceful.

Stevensville, Mich.A beautiful home that has everything, and a great location.
Left on 02/07/2013 for a stay in January 2013
We stayed at Casa Verde for the month of January, 2013. This home is a real delight. It is very nicely decorated and maintained, inside and out. The hardwood floors, stain glass windows, paneling, and art work are beautifully done. It has everything you could need - appliances, utensils, roomy closets, great beds and linens. We particularly enjoyed the patio, cooking on the gas grill and drinking fresh lemonade with lemons picked from the tree along the driveway. In addition to the normal appliances you would expect, they even have a juicer, coffee grinder, and espresso machine. The large-screen TV, additional TV in master bedroom, computer with high speed internet, and foosball table were nice bonuses. The neighborhood is quiet, upscale and safe, with very little traffic. There were several restaurants within a block or two - we tried Mambos (Cuban) and Chinda (Thai) and would recommend both. Being close to the Equestrian Center, there are horses stabled down the block and we frequently saw them walking in the roadways. We particularly liked being so close to the la Zoo and Griffith Park - so much to do there. The house is also close to the I-5 and the 134, so it's easy to get anywhere in the la area. We hope to come back next year and would definitely recommend this house to others.

Kansas CityFantastic!
Left on 12/14/2012 for a stay in November 2012
My family and I spent Thanksgiving week at Casa Verde this year. Best vacation decision we've ever made. Having the entire house instead of a small hotel room was so incredibly helpful. The kids (2, 4, and 6 year-old boys) had room to play and move around. We had room to work, play, and relax.
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner, since everything we needed to prepare just about any meal was there for us to use. The house has so many very helpful and thoughtful details -- lemon and grapefruit trees, stocked kitchen (utensils, pots and pans, dishes, etc.), nice furniture, WiFi, TV, the list goes on and on. Everything made this trip so much more relaxing than any hotel stay we've ever had. Oh, and the house was incredibly clean! So easy to be comfortable in a place that has been so well cared for.
Very close to everything in Burbank, Glendale, North Hollywood, etc. Plenty of places to eat within 10 minutes. If you can, definitely fly into Burbank, it's a hike from the valley to lax. We have family in the Burbank area, and will definitely come back to Casa Verde.

Tokyo, JapanVery pleasant stay!

Very pleasant and spacious house & garden with a grapefruit tree and lemon tree. The neighbourhood is quiet and serene. You wake up to the sound of the horse neighing. And at night you can sit in the garden to watch the stars surrounded by grapefruit aroma. You can also cook yourself a big meal in the kitchen with plenty of pots, pans, utensils and cutlery. Very peaceful. Just what I needed since I needed to concentrate on my writing. (I had my own computer but the computer and printer in the kids room is also a big plus.) Also, you can see the mountains from the house which I really loved. I would recommend to anybody who needs some quiet in the city.

Atlanta, GAExpectations exceeded in this truly beautiful little house!
Left on 07/13/2012 for a stay in June 2012
The first thing we all did when we stepped in the place was say "wowww!" It's got such gorgeous decor (sort of Mission pine with a splash of modern), and speaking as someone who's done a lot of remodeling, the work was done with great attention to detail.
As far as practicality is concerned, it comes with all the linens, utensils, appliances, etc. that anyone could need, and it even has a computer and printer! Oh, and I loved the blazing fast wireless internet. On top of it all, there's a lemon tree which allowed us to have fresh lemonade every day.
The location was perfect for us, as we used to live near the neighborhood, but we loved it for its convenient access to everything even back then - Hollywood, downtown L.A., Pasadena, and Glendale are all within 20 minutes to a half hour away, not to mention Griffith Park being just across the freeway.
Finally, there were a few minor details that I spoke to the owner about after we left, and he quickly and graciously dealt with everything I mentioned (so you can thank me for the brand new TV and improved sleeping accommodations in the back room. ;-))
I've mentioned it to Mark several times, but we really look forward to the day we can come back and enjoy his lovely home in the heart of our old stomping grounds.
