Description from the owner
The Château, which has been acquired by the present owner, went under a complete renovation in 2007-2008 to bring it to modern standards, while keeping the original Château atmosphere. Beautifully decorated and furnished with 18th century paintings and furniture, the Château is suitable for sophisticated wine and art lovers who want to find a typical French Château to spend some valuable vacation time while visiting the Burgundy region.

Additional Location Information
Château des Barrigards is conveniently located in the heart of Burgundy between Beaune, renowned for its wineries, and Dijon, the administrative capital of Burgundy. It stands half a mile from the “Route des Grands Crus,” along which all the most famous wineries, such as Romanée-Conti, Clos de Vougeot etc., have been established. Besides being known for its famous and most expensive wines in the world, Burgundy has, along with its long history, a selection of major medieval churches, castles, and buildings, which attract more than two million tourists from all over the world each year. Burgundy’s wine is appreciated by a spectrum of people, ranging from the casual wine consumer to the sophisticated, wealthy, wine collector.
The property consists of the Château, which was stone-built at the beginning of the past century on 10 acres of cultural meadows and vineyards. It, as well as the private garden, has recently been entirely renovated. In addition, attached to the Château is a winery, producing Côte de Nuits Village, Pinot Noir, and Aligoté wine.
It is located approximately 2km (1.4 miles) from Beaune, 150 km (90miles) from Lyon International Airport, and 300km (225 miles) from Paris. It is less than 2km (1.5 miles) from the Paris-Lyon-Marseilles Highway (Exit 24 Savigny-les-Beaunes).
Trains and TGV trains (bullet train) stations are in Beaune, Chalon-sur-Saône (30km or 19 miles) and Dijon (40 km or 25miles). Taxis and all major car rentals are available at the stations as well.

30242The Chateau Experience exceeded our expectations
Left on 06/12/2012 for a stay in May 2012
The Chateau des Barrigards is a charming, comfortable and very classy place to spend a week. We were two couples and had the whole place to ourselves. The bathrooms are luxurious and the kitchen is to die for. The washer and dryer came in handy and the caretaker put out apparently brand new teak lawn furniture so we could enjoy the beautiful view out over the countryside from the back yard. Beaune, with its fine restaurants and great historical sights is only a few minutes drive away. The landlord appears to be totally committed to ensure his guests have a good experience. I highly recommend the chateau to anyone who wants a great place to stay while exploring the beautiful Burgundian countryside and one of the premier wine producing areas of the world.
