EN LA MARRE is an early 19thC farmhouse on the estate of Chateau de Dracy in a truly tranquil, rural location situated 45 minutes from BEAUNE, 1hr 15 minutes from DIJON, 30 minutes from CHALON SUR SAONE and 20 minutes from AUTUN. The small country town of COUCHES is 4 kms where there are basic facilities - a bank with cashpoints, post office, 2 supermarkets, 4 restaurants, 2 doctors' surgeries, a pharmacy, a newsagents and a bakery. There is ample car parking on the property but own transport is necessary.

We are a discerning couple and came across this little gem of converted farm apartments a few years ago and have returned several times staying in different apartments all of which are very comfortable. The fact that it is for couples only ensures a civilized but relaxed holiday and it never fails to deliver. We particularly enjoyed the walks from the farm and, at the time of our visits, usually in May, there are fields of flowers and birdsong. It is a very quiet and peaceful location and we are always sorry to leave. The English owners live on site and we found them to be discreetly available and helpful. We travelled on the overnight ferry from UK to Cherbourg and can get there within the day which is a bonus. The only downside is the eneven and gravel ground and steps which would make it unsuitable for wheelchairs.
