The Raven is located on Watauga Lake where the Watauga River intersects. Perfect for boaters, skiiers, canoeing and kayacking. Complimentary canoes are available and the trip down the river (beginner)is a must, straight into the Cherokee National Forest. Rent Ponton Boats from the local marina for a day or a week.
Near by vacation villages: Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, Lineville, Valle Crucis NC to the east and Elizabethan, Johnson City, Bistol Tn to the West.

Our family of 9 stayed in the Raven and we all had plenty of space. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped and the 3 sofa's in front of the fireplace made family time very cozy. Also, the hot tub is oversized as well. The master suite has an awesome view of the mountains with a living room to stargaze including the telescope. We've stayed at several cabins over the years and The Raven was by far the best. We did not have an opportunity to enjoy the lake since we spent most of our time skiing at the nearby resort but the lake was huge and easily accessible. I would recommend this cabin to anyone with a large family or anyone who wants alot of space.

Our kids are in year round school where students have off 2wks during the fall. This was a new life style for my family and so we started this new tradition with a stay at The Raven on Watauga lake. Had no idea what we were instore for ... I'm a beach person. This cain towers at the top of the mountain with great views and yes, I mean Great views of Watauga Lake and the mountain range. The master bedroroom is huge with a glass wall overlooking Watauga Lake. There's a balocony too. The place was spottless, linens and towels new. Our favorite was the giant size hot tub. The whole family could get in together and enjoy. At night we roasted smores at the stone fire pit. When we made the reservation Melody encouraged me to rent a boat (even in Oct) for the day. Wow, am I glad I listened to her. The high was 68 and we got sun burned. Next we did the zip line trip and white water rafted. Busy as bees the whole trip. This area rocks.
