Scale Force is a 1 bedroomed apartment located in the grounds of the owners country house hotel in the quaint lakeland village of Buttermere.

Guests are very welcome you use the hotels facilities which include a walkers bar and restaurant.

Peace and tranquillity await you in this quiet and picturesque corner of the Lake District yet the bustling towns of Keswick, Cockermouth and the Solway Coast

all within easy reach.

Buttermere

is best known for its connections with Alfred Wainwright, with Haystacks being

located at the eastern end of the valley, Wainwright asked for his ashes to be

scattered here. N...ow it is one of the

most popular fells to climb with attractive rock formations and tarns on route. The valley itself is home to Buttermere lake

on the fringes of the western Lake District with Crummock Water and Loweswater to the north and Ennerdale Water to the

west. The area is popular with walkers

and mountain bikers and is hidden away from the main tourist hotspots such as

Windermere and Keswick but both are easily accessible. Climbers will enjoy Red Pike, High Stile and

High Crag, making up the ‘Buttermere Round’ and for those who prefer a gentler

walk simply follow the shores of the lake and admire some of the best scenery

the Lake District has to offer. A short

drive away are the popular visitor atractions of Honister slate mine and Whinlatter

Forest Visitor Centre including Go Ape a tree top adventure for both the young

and old.

Buttermere

apartments are in the grounds of the owners country house hotel, located beside

the packhorse bridge spanning Mill Beck below.

Set in the landscaped gardens the apartment has views to Haystacks and

the Buttermere Round and are tastefully furnished to provide an ideal base for

the apartment.

have difficulty with stairs. Patio doors

lead out onto a delightful private patio area with beautiful views over the

gardens to the fells in the distance. Heated

by night storage heaters the apartments comprises:

  We had walked around Buttermere and Crummock water many times but never stopped there as the apartments we saw looked like they would not accept our dog(don't ask me why)
  I checked on the Internet and low and behold they did accept a dog in two of the appartments.
  We booked for a week and found the appartment to be excellent,underfloor heating in the superb bathroom. A lounge with full height windows for wonderful views and everything you would need,and more for your holiday.
  The area has got to be one of the best in the Lakes.
  You can park your car up and then forget it for the week as there are two pubs within a one minute walk,mountain walks,valley walks and lake walks.Something for everyone.
  If it had'nt been booked for the new year we would have booked it.
